Paula Martin (Stirling Gallacher) and Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) are set for their sweet reunion tonight which will result in them deciding to leave Coronation Street.
Paula has been back on the street working as Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) solicitor, and she took the time to reconnect with old friend Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dyvenor).
But she was left disappointed when Sophie didn’t come with her mum to their catch up meal.
Tonight, Paula decides to rectify that and goes to see Sophie at Speed Daal. The two clearly still have feelings as the spark is most definitely still there, and they don’t want to lose it.
As they spend time together they realise they want to try again, and so Paula jumps in with both feet – inviting Sophie to go with her on her pony trekking holiday to Spain.
Sophie is thrilled at the invite and jumps at the chance, and the two women begin planning their future.
Sally is happy for her daughter and best friend have rekindled her love, but will they come back from their romantic adventure?
Hollyoaks is going to be a very dangerous place to live this summer as killer granny Breda McQueen (Moya Brody) is about to spiral out of control and kill again – but who dies as she potentially strikes again more than once and makes some terrifying decisions involving some of the soap’s biggest characters.
In an interview which revealed storylines first in Metro.co.uk’s brand new free soaps newsletter, Bryan warned of ‘the two biggest Hollyoaks shocks of the year’ to come, making us fear for our favourites. To get this kind of gossip earlier than everyone else, first to your inbox, sign up for the newsletter here and it will be emailed to you every Friday.
Bryan told us: ‘This summer is the summer of Breda, our cuddly serial killer – our two biggest shocks of the year tie in with this storyline as Breda is forced to make some seriously scary decisions across summer. She will take some terrible with some of our bigger characters and the twists are absolutely huge.’
Breda has already claimed a number of victims – all who she believed were bad fathers – including Louis Loveday, Mac Nightingale and Carl Costello among others. But who will she targeting next as things take a turn for the worse this summer.
However, it’s not all doom and gloom – while the cast won’t be heading to sunnier climes this year, there will still be a holiday special which sees some cast favourites head to a music festival.
Bryan smiled: ‘In breaking with tradition, we won’t be sending a bunch of our cast over to a Spanish island this year but instead, a group of characters will attend a British music festival for some joyous, real life echoing experiences with some real life and vibrancy which many of our audience should be able to relate to!’
So who is dying and who is gigging? You’ll have to wait and see.
Hollyoaks fans are in for a treat again this summer as the cast are heading for a fun filled and joyous music festival. Traditionally, the soap has been sending the characters to Ibiza and Magaluf for the sunnier months to bring sexy and scandalous sunny drama.
This year it’s going to be wetter and grimmer weather wise – but with no less fun and mischief to be had as some of our favourites head to a festival a la Glastonbury to enjoy some partying music and possibly romance!
The producer explained: ‘In breaking with tradition, we won’t be sending a bunch of our cast over to a Spanish island this year but instead, a group of characters will attend a British music festival for some joyous, real life echoing experiences with some real life and vibrancy which many of our audience should be able to relate to!’
Ahead of these episodes, the soap is also launching some brand new opening titles next week.
Bryan enthused exclusively to us: ‘We have a brand new refresh to the titles coming up which I know the fans will love. We are constantly listening to what the fans like and enjoy and what they want to see more or less of. The new titles, which are the first proper overhaul in three years are full of joy with just the right level of camp and I can’t wait for people to see them. They launch on Monday so look out for those.’
Other summer storylines include the two ‘biggest shocks of the year’ in the Breda McQueen murder saga while Maxine Minniver’s lies begin to unravel.
Coronation Street’s Sam Aston is clearly loving the married life as his new wife Briony has shared a picture of the two of them getting fully into relaxation mode in the honeymoon favourite destination of the Maldives.
The couple showed off their impressive yoga moves while on a stunning white beach as Sam lifted Briony with his feet, who then doubled over backwards to kiss him.
Couples goals right there.
Briony also gave a further glimpse into their honeymoon with a picture of herself doing yoga by the sea, as well as a snap of a gorgeous sunset.
The pair are enjoying time after their big do last weekend, which saw them tie the knot in front of friends and family – and Corrie co-stars – at Stock Farm in Cheshire.

Brooke Vincent, Alan Halsall and Katie McGlynn were all there to ring in the big day with them, which saw Sam wed his wife in a sharp tuxedo.
(Picture: Instagram)
Shortly after their wedding day, the couple revealed some tragic news – their beloved dog Buddy had died.
Briony shared on Instagram: ‘Today we lost another member of our herd. Sweet dreams buddy.
‘Now you can lick every cushion in the sky. Sam I are so lucky to have each other through good times and bad thank you for the love.’
Brooke shared a picture of her bump (Picture: Instagram)
Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) is back in Coronation Street this week, and it appears that she and Paula Martin (Stirling Gallacher) will be getting back together.
We recently saw a sillhouette of Sophie peering out of the window while her ex spoke to her mum Sally (Sally Dyvenor), and their age-gap love affair could be back on after they’ve both had some time to reflect.
They’ll be keeping the gender secret until the birth (Picture: @brookelevivincent/Instagram)
She’s having the baby with her boyfriend Kean Bryan who she’s been with since Summer 2016.
Kean is a footballer who currently plays for Sheffield United. He has also made it to the pitch for youth teams including Manchester City and the England National Team.
Although Brooke has said that she would love to get married, both of them have hinted that a wedding isn’t currently in their mind and the focus will instead be on their new arrival.
They are also keeping the gender of their little one a secret until it arrives.
The teenager has been suffering abuse at the hands of David’s girlfriend Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein), and the teacher has been using mind games and manipulation to make sure David is none the wiser.
Leyla (Roxy Shahidi), Priya (Fiona Wade), and Tracy (Amy Walsh) found out about the grooming not long ago, and were unable to keep the secret in for much longer, spilling the details to a horrified David.
Fans have been frustrated that nobody has yet called the police, but with Maya on the run, it’s likely they want to get her back and get their answers first.
Those who have been watching since Jacob’s inclusion in the show will also be aware that David isn’t actually his real dad at all.
Child abuser Maya has also betrayed her boyfriend, David (Picture: ITV)
Jacob first came into the show in 2010, and seemed to be the son of Alicia Harding (Natalie Anderson).
Alicia was working hard as a barmaid at the Woolpack, meaning Jacob spent a lot of time with her sister Leyla and her boyfriend at the time, David.
It was revealed in a DNA test that Justin Gallagher (Alicia’s ex-husband, played by Andrew Langtree) was his dad, along with the bombshell that his biological mum was actually Leyla.
Jacob was left unaware of this, as adoptive mum Alicia and Justin started a custody battle over who would get to live with the boy. When Alicia went to jail, Jacob made the decision to live with David instead, as the pair had spent time together and forged a bond.
Jacob’s real mum Leyla has been ready to protect her baby since she found out about Maya (Picture: ITV)
All was revealed on who Jacob’s mum was in 2013, but he continued to think of Alicia as his mother despite accepting Leyla into his life.
He has also started to see David as his dad,and calls him that despite them not officially being related.
And it sounds like there are going to be some smouldering sex secrets and some shocking twists for big families including the Mitchells, the Taylors and the Slaters. The Highways also face a blast from the past, Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) may find a complex love interest and it’s war for Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) and Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner).
Jon told Metro.co.uk: ‘We have a thrilling, action-packed summer planned for our viewers with plenty of big stories taking us all the way through to autumn. For the Mitchells, it is fair to say Ben’s return hasn’t gone the way he planned but he’s proven himself to be a man who will go to any lengths to get what he wants and that doesn’t stop with his scheming – it extends to his love life too. As Phil looks like he might work out what Ben’s up to an unexpected twist is about to turn their worlds upside down….
‘The Slaters haven’t had an easy ride over the past few weeks but the drama doesn’t stop there – when loyalties are tested, Kat and Stacey go to war, giving fans another chance to enjoy Jessie Wallace and Lacey Turner at their finest. Jean’s story will continue into the summer with Gillian Wright continuing to give a heartbreaking portrayal of a woman coping with the physical and mental reality of living with cancer. But Jean may soon have a reason to smile in the form of straight-talking Daniel, played by the wonderful Adrian Edmondson.
‘So fans should tune in to see love blossoming on the Square this summer with an unlikely duo, the Brannings finding themselves at the mercy of the women in their lives, drama for the Carters when they are faced with an unexpected obstacle that tests their relationship, the Highway brothers coming face to face with their dad and as always, there’s trouble in store for the Taylors…
‘Without a doubt, EastEnders is going to be sizzling this summer.’
With Brooke Vincent pregnant with her first child, and due to start her maternity leave soon, it’s known that her character is going to be absent from Weatherfield for a while.
Could the reason Sophie leaves be down to Paula?
Sophie and Paula have something of a complicated relationship to be sure – but the same could be said of pretty much any pairing on Corrie.
The first time they were together, they made a good match for each other, but solicitor Paula ended things because Sophie suggested her mother Sally – also Paula’s best friend and client – make herself ill to buy time in a court case, therefore putting Paula in a very tricky position.
Paula took her leave of Weatherfield for a spell after the split, but on her return, she was disappointed when Sophie didn’t join Paula and Sally for their catch-up meal.
Apparently determined to set things right, Paula is going to take action and see Sophie at the restaurant where she works.
The air will be thick with all the chemistry between the two, and it’ll be clear that they still have pretty strong feelings for each other, despite everything that’s gone on between them.
Soon enough, the time they spend together leads to them wanting to give their relationship another go, and Paula invites Sophie to go away with her on a Spanish pony trekking holiday.
Sally is thrilled at the prospect of her best friend and her daughter getting their love back on track, but will it last?
Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) has gone on the run with Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein), but he’s a frightened teenager with a conscience and when he tries to right his wrong he risks Maya’s wrath in Emmerdale.
After David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) found out the full truth about Jacob and Maya, Jacob went on the run with the school teacher, believing they could start a new life together. Before he did, he and his dad both said horrific things to each other in the heat of the moment as they both came to terms with the devastating truth of the situation.
David came to blame himself for his son being abused after letting Maya into their home and missing the signs of her behaviour.
But though Jacob ran, he still had his family on his mind. When alone in the hotel room, Maya told him they had to ditch their phones so that they couldn’t be tracked, but Jacob hid his under the bed.
David was beside himself in trying to find his son, and was hit by another truth when he learned that Liv had known about the abuse and used it to blackmail Maya.
He immediately confronted her and she explained everything, how Maya had threatened her life, and had taken David’s life savings to pay her off.
David then realised Liv was his last hope, and asked her to call Jacob.
In a rare moment alone without Maya who’d gone out to get pizzas, a guilty Jacob answered, and told her he’d never meant to hurt her. She then put his dad on the phone, who assured Jacob he hadn’t gone to the police and he apologised for what he’d said.
He begged Jacob to meet him, and Jacob promised him he’d message.
‘Maya’s not taking him away from me. I’ll get my son back if it kills me,’ David seethed after the call.
But when Maya discovers Jacob not only kept his phone but arranged to meet his dad behind her back, how will she react? She’ll be in self-preservation mode – she’s already thrown Jacob under the bus in other scenes where she tried to blame it all on him – will she do something terrible to the teen after learning of his betrayal?

But she was horrified to realise she’d left it too long for an examination, and that without the bed sheets there would be little evidence of what he’d done. Moira then took her to her place and bought her a pregnancy test to take there and then.
The detective vowed to build a case regardless, and sent police to her house to see what they could find, but Diane spotted the furore and demanded to know what was going on as police cars lined up in the street.

Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) was put in the most impossible situation by a desperate Dinah Baker (Anjela Lauren Smith) in EastEnders as she was asked to help end her suffering.
Dinah’s terminal illness has been getting worse and the guilt of being a burden to her daughter Bailey has been weighing down on her shoulders.
After suffering a fall and learning she had pneumonia, it seemed to be the last straw for Dinah.
As she had a heart to heart with Karen about how she was suffering, she asked her if she’d do her a big favour.
‘Will you help me?’ she asked. ‘Put an end to this.’ Karen immediately got upset as Dinah spoke of how her health will deteriorate until she dies unless she takes control now.
‘It’s time, it’s my time,’ she said.
But a distraught Karen tried to convince her otherwise, saying it was just depression speaking and she should chalk it up to having a bad day. Dinah reaffirmed she’d had enough.
Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) has made a drastic decision after learning of Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) unforgivable betrayal in EastEnders.
After discovering she was pregnant, Louise confronted Keanu with the news, and told him she planned to keep the baby so he should decide if he wanted to be involved.
In shock, he didn’t say a word, and she ran away, but after a heart to heart with his mum he decided he wanted the baby. Little did he know, Louise later overheard him have a conversation with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in which Phil revealed he’d been paid to date Louise.
Distraught, Louise confided in Bex and realised how everything now made sense, such as her having to convince Keanu to kiss her.
So she came to her decision – and brutally ended things with a confused Keanu and telling him there was no baby, the test had been wrong.
She turned nasty on him, attacking him for his job and his life choices, and he looked on dumbstruck at what was happening. One minute he’d been so excited he’d bought their baby a teddy, the next his world was coming crashing down around his ears.
Later, after having had time to think, Keanu went back to Louise’s and demanded to speak with her, but Sharon told him she’d left. As Keanu walked out, Louise appeared from behind the door, and she and Sharon began to make plans for her to have an abortion.
‘A couple of days and it’ll be over,’ Sharon told her.
Will Louise go ahead with it over anger for Keanu? Or will he find out and stop her?
It looks like Gary is well and truly out on his Windass as far as Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) is concerned as Coronation Street has exclusively revealed a sizzling new story of love and passion for her and Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).
With Gary (Mikey North) having lost everything, Sarah can no longer trust him and as the relationship crumbles, a returning and very Poladark-esque looking Adam will be waiting in the wings to bring some more lightness and fun to Sarah’s life.
Tina exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘I am really enjoying playing this new lighter side of Sarah. Adam brings out a side of her personality that has been buried for a while. Sarah is definitely more cheeky and so much more flirty with Adam. It’s like she is young again and she is having that experience of feeling wanted.
‘She’s even got a whole new wardrobe which is great. She is still young but she has had so much going on in her life she was feeling very downtrodden, Adam is making her feel desirable again.’
But the new romance won’t be without it’s difficulties when the rivalry between Gary and Adam rears its head. Tina said: ‘I love the dynamic between Gary and Adam. There’s great friction and Sarah is in the middle of it all.
‘Although she doesn’t want to be with Gary she still cares about him and doesn’t want to see him hurt. Adam is paying her attention and saying nice things to her and she can’t deny that he makes her happy even if that upsets Gary.’
Ziggy has been struggling with her drinking habits (Picture: Channel 5)
Since discovering Brody (Jackson Heywood) and Simone (Emily Eskell) together, Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) has been on a downwards spiral, as her depression has turned into drowning her sorrows with alcohol and partying all night. Her behaviour is growing cause for concern for her friends and family, and Maggie (Kestie Morassi) and Ben (Rohan Nichol) are left wondering how to handle her wild behaviour in front of the surf club one morning.
However, they’re interrupted by Ziggy herself, strolling up from the beach after an early morning swim. It’s clear she wasn’t up early, though – she didn’t even make it home the night before, and decided to stay awake. It’s also clear she’s still drunk.
At work, Ziggy covers up her intoxication by pretending she’s happy and motivated to get started. However, it isn’t long before she hurts herself loosening a bolt, and Justin (James Stewart) quickly realises she’s drunk after smelling alcohol on her breath. He tells her she can’t be at work drunk, and sends her home for the day.
Justin smells alcohol on Ziggy’s breath (Picture: Channel 5)
When Ziggy walks into the surf club with Justin, asking for Ben’s keys because she’s lost hers, her parents are confused until Justin says that Ziggy’s ‘under the weather’ and needs the rest of the day off.
Due to her erratic behaviour, Maggie is left wondering if Ziggy is responsible for the graffiti at the school, and she heads outside to try and subtly ask her daughter if she was responsible. However, Ziggy is furious that her mum thinks so little of her, and storms into Salt to have a go at Brody. She believes Simone accused her of the graffiti, and lets him have it. Will her behaviour calm down soon, or is it about to get even worse?

Shona finds herself feeling jealous when she walks in on David giving Natalie a lesson in how to cut hair. Does she have something to worry about? Could David throw his engagement away over a fling with Natalie?

But she might have bigger problems if the police get their hands on their accounts and find the results of Nick’s theft.
Will David get caught for cheating AND being an accomplice in stealing £80k?
EastEnders is set to air a huge twist in Ben Mitchell’s (Max Bowden) revenge story against his dad Phil (Steve McFadden) according to executive producer Jon Sen – and it’s one that will make the summer explode and potentially tear the whole family apart forever.
Speaking exclusively for Metro.co.uk’s brand new soaps newsletter which launched this morning – sign up here if you want these stories earlier than everyone else – Jon said: ‘For the Mitchells, it is fair to say Ben’s return hasn’t gone the way he planned but he’s proven himself to be a man who will go to any lengths to get what he wants and that doesn’t stop with his scheming – it extends to his love life too.
‘As Phil looks like he might work out what Ben’s up to an unexpected twist is about to turn their worlds upside down…’
Whether or not it will expose Ben’s true colours or send Phil off in another direction – such as discovering Sharon’s affair with Keanu – it’s clear that life is not going to be quiet in the Mitchell household.
And that goes for the rest of Walford too.
Jon added: ‘The Slaters haven’t had an easy ride over the past few weeks but the drama doesn’t stop there – when loyalties are tested, Kat and Stacey go to war, giving fans another chance to enjoy Jessie Wallace and Lacey Turner at their finest. Jean’s story will continue into the summer with Gillian Wright continuing to give a heartbreaking portrayal of a woman coping with the physical and mental reality of living with cancer. Emmerdale’s Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) is a very angry man and although so far his fury has been aimed towards getting revenge on Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton), could betrayal cause him to lash out elsewhere?
Dawn (Olivia Bromley) is teetering on the edge of betraying him, and when he takes things to the extreme her loyalties will be fully tested.
When Dean arrives at Woodbine cottage, he and Dawn end up in a tussle over what he plans to do next, and it results in her whacking her head on the table as she reveals she’s not sold on his revenge plans.
He later lures Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) to the church where he intends to do her some serious damage with a coffin. Dawn has been locked in the house by Harriet for her own safety, will she be able to get there in time to save Harriet?
And if she does, she’ll have Will’s wrath to face for saving the woman he has so much anger for. Could he see red and kill his daughter for her betrayal?
(Picture: ITV)
Actor Dean Andrews revealed that Dawn’s wavering allegiance will cause a dilemma for Will.
‘I suppose at some point [Dawn] will be compromised a little bit,’ he told metro.co.uk. ‘I don’t know that there are odd times that myself and Dawn’s relationship, I kind of want her doing more and I get little inclinations that she is not quite as up for it as I am.
‘I keep trying to reiterate that this woman has done this to us, just because I can feel that she is not fully engaged.’
He added: ‘He’s using his daughter, there’s no doubt about it, even though he loves her.
‘He’s using her for his own ends because he’s got that red mist and his only focus is not about building another life and being pleased about being out of jail, he just wants to exact revenge on the person that he loved that put him in that place for a long a time.’

Simone has been struggling in the Bay (Picture: Channel 5)
Simone (Emily Eskell) and Brody (Jackson Heywood) have been struggling in the Bay since publicly living their lives as a couple, but Simone has been having a particularly hard time at school with Maggie (Kestie Morassi) as her supervisor. With the graffiti on her office door leading to all of the students knowing about her personal life, she’s left feeling even more like an outcast – and it hasn’t helped that Brody recently confessed his criminal history to her, making her suspicious about what else he could be hiding.
Keen to make amends, Brody sets up a private breakfast in Salt so they can spend time getting to know each other properly. He tells her about his time in witness protection as well as places he’s lived before, and the two find they have a lot in common. Although she has to leave for work before long, it’s clear things are back on track.
Simone’s situation gets worse, however, when Bella (Courtney Miller) approaches her in the caravan park and confesses that she was the one behind the graffiti. It’s clear Simone is left feeling betrayed and stunned, and that Bella struggles to see how much she’s hurt her tutor.
Ziggy and Simone have fought for Brody’s attention in the past (Picture: Channel 5)
While Simone manages to keep it together as she thanks Bella for having the courage to come and see her in person, she falls apart once Bella has gone, sobbing inside her van. Later, Simone shares how devastated she is about the confession with Brody. Although Brody says she’s just a kid, Simone says she felt she and Bella really had a connection, and now she’s turned against her too.
This leads to Simone realising she’s tired of being seen as the scarlet woman in the Bay. She doesn’t believe it will ever change, and tells Brody she can’t do this anymore. She makes the decision to resign from her job at the school, and a diplomatic Maggie thanks her for all her help with the students.
Bella is gutted to see her go, but as Maggie has waived her notice period, Simone no longer has to spend any time at the school. She expresses her relief to Brody that she isn’t under Maggie’s watch anymore, and says it’s time for her to leave town. Brody nervously asks if she’s breaking up with her. What does Simone’s decision mean for the couple?
