Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) refuses to go to the police
(Picture: ITV)

There’s a slight chance Emmerdale’s Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) might not be thinking clearly now that news she’s a child abuse has come to light, as she’s decided that the best way to deal with the situation is to kidnap Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) and run off.

But the net is closing in and she knows it, what will her next move be to save herself? Something pretty drastic no doubt.

So she’s gone on the run with her teenage lover, and David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) realises what’s happened when Jacob doesn’t show up for a GCSE exam. Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) urges him to go to the police, but he refuses.

At a hotel, Jacob and Maya are anxiously watching the news and Maya makes plans for them to move to Newcastle to start a new life away from everything and everyone they know, where they can be together without the fear of her being hauled off by police.

But she’s left fuming when she discovers that Jacob is torn by what they’re doing and has agreed to secretly meet David. She’s so furious in fact, he feels he has to do something to appease her, and he smashes his phone to show he’s serious about them.

Maya is smug at the control she has over the lad, while a worried Jacob is hit by the gravity of the situation. Will he fight back before it’s too late?

Frasier star Kelsey Grammer for Coronation Street or EastEnders role?

Frasier and Cheers actor Kelsey Grammer has issued a somewhat tempting ‘come and get me’ offer to the British Soap world, admitting that he loves UK soaps such as EastEnders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale and would be more than up for a role in one of them.

The star, who is also known for voicing The Simpsons villain Sideshow Bob and has made it clear that a Frasier revival could be on the cards in the future, deemed our soaps ‘classy’, having evidently been washing his hair during Gemma Winter and Chesney Brown’s camping holiday or the Emmerdale episode which saw Kerry Wyatt dressed as a beaver.

Joking aside, UK soaps are known for tackling hard hitting and important issues and for being slightly less outlandish than their American counterparts such as The Bold And The Beautiful which contains storylines that are ever so slightly more tongue-in-cheek.

Kelsey told The Daily Star: ‘I love all the UK soaps, of course I do. They are just so classy and superbly made. If any of them are ever looking to cast a very eager American, then can they please give me a call.’

It wouldn’t be the first time that a big name has turned up in one of the UK soaps, with Sir Ian McKellen making a notable appearance in Coronation Street as did Stephanie Beacham while pop star Rick Astley recently showed up in Hollyoaks.

Discussing the proposed Frasier reboot, Kelsey added: ‘Whether he has got six children and a wife in the islands somewhere, he needs to come back to probably resolve things with his son Frederick, which mirrors the show in the first place.

‘Frasier might be an art dealer. He might be a professor. We don’t know yet.’

The ‘yet’ sounds hopeful for sitcom fans but if he has time for a pint or two in the Rovers first, we’d be up for that.

Bethany gets romance in Coronation Street
(Picture: ITV)

Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) is on the road to heartbreak in Coronation Street tonight as crossed wires see Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) make a big mistake as she decides that she wants to give a romance with him a chance.

A bond has been developing between Bethany and Ryan for some time and she put a word in for him with Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) to get him a DJ gig at Speed Daal.

When Ryan later thanked Bethany and moved in for a kiss, Bethany appeared to reject him – he would be her first boyfriend since she endured horrific sexual abuse in a sex ring.

Thinking that Bethany isn’t interested, Ryan decides to move on and this evening something happens between him and Alya instead. But he then gets a bit of an uncomfortable wake up call when an oblivious Bethany then tells him she was just caught off guard but she is ready to be with him.

Problem is, he now has this guilty secret which could ruin everything. As he hopes for a future with Bethany, he begs Alya not to say a word but will she keep quiet?

Lucy recently announced her decision to leave the show at the end of her current contract in 2020. She said: ‘Would’ve liked the chance to announce this in my own time lol… however, after the most incredible 4 years, I have made the extremely difficult decision to leave Coronation Street at the end of my contract in 2020.

‘It’s hard to put into words how much this show means to me. I’ve made lifelong friends with some of the most talented and hardworking people in the industry, I’ve had some terrific and immensely important storylines and I’ve laughed with the best people everyday. I’m so thankful to Iain and everyone at Coronation Street, I owe everything to them and I will miss them greatly. Thank you so much for your support and love… can’t wait to see what’s in store for Bethany this year. (sic).’

Victoria's traumatic night out revealed in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

The horrific truth of what happened to Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) is about to come out in Emmerdale.

Since that night, Victoria has been a recluse in her own home, alienating herself from anyone who cares. She sent Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) packing when she arrived to make her feel better, and poor Matty (Ash Palmisciano) got the brunt of her anger and took a serious dose of her acidic tongue for his troubles.

She’s also pulled sickies from her job leaving Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) to hold the fort.

But Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) has had enough of her sick act, and demands to know why she’s taking everything out on those around her. She shows her some tough love, and cracks through her hard shell to get to the heartbreaking and devastating truth.

In a flashback, Victoria reveals that when the fire alarm went off she headed out of the club to find Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley). Unable to find him, and with the rest of the girls having left in a taxi, she went off to sit on the wall by the kebab van, which transpires to be a life changing decision.

Reports suggest that she reveals to Moira that she’s been raped, and the episode will reveal what happened between her sitting near the fast food stall to where she is at home now. Will she go to the police?

But for what happens next, you’ll have to tune in tonight.

Helen Flanagan has confirmed that she does plan on returning to Coronation Street in the not so distant future.

The 28-year-old actress, who plays Rosie Webster in the ITV soap, announced on Lorraine that she hopes to reprise her character, telling her: ‘I miss Coronation Street so much and I’m definitely going to go back, definitely.

‘It’s just working it around my girls. Matilda’s at the age now where she’s four and she needs to be taken to all of her lessons.

‘Obviously with me living in Scotland it’s a four hour drive and Delilah’s nearly one.’

Helen left Coronation Street back in 2017 before welcoming her second daughter Delilah Ruby with partner Scott Sinclair in 2018.

The couple also share daughter Matilda Jessica Sinclair.

‘I just love it so much,’ Helen added as she continued to enthusiastically talk about the soap. ‘I’ve been there since I was nine.’

She added: ‘I really miss Sally (Sally Metcalfe) and I miss Sophie (Brooke Vincent) because she’s having a baby.

‘It’s really nice because when she [Brooke] found out she was pregnant she rang me straight away.’

Earlier this week a source told Metro.co.uk that Helen’s isn’t yet ready for a comeback, telling us: ‘Helen is not ready to return yet as her baby is still very young,’ so we might have a while to wait yet.

The Coronation Street cast has seen a number of confirmed exits over recent weeks, with Kym Marsh bowing out as Michelle Connor, Faye Brookes as Kate Connor and Lucy Fallon as Bethany Platt.

Tristan Gemmill is also leaving the cobbles as Robert Preston, alongside Brooke Vincent’s Sophie Webster.

James Moore shows off his new hair

Emmerdale’s James Moore has shocked fans by showing off a whole new look after getting the chop on his long hair.

The actor, who plays Ryan Stocks, took to Instagram to show off his new ‘do after taking the plunge and getting most of his mane cut off.

He modeled the look in a fierce ‘after image’, showing off how his hair had gone from chest length to right above his shoulders.

He joked on the image: ‘Just a trim.’

One fan was relieved he hadn’t gone the whole hog and had the whole lot chopped off: ‘Cool cut James. Glad it’s not all off x.’

The post was flooded with other fans telling him he was ‘looking great’, ‘fab’ and that they ‘love it’.

His co-star Anthony Quinlan, who plays Pete Barton, added: ‘Looking [OK hand sign emoji] geeza! #axlrose.’

James has previously battled cyberbullies over his look, previously writing: ‘To everyone who has commented about my hair, or my style- I think someone said I looked homeless – maybe you should be focusing more on the plot and less on superficialities.’

The actor is well known for standing up for himself and his beliefs on Twitter, having previously admonished fans for trying to kiss him without his permission, and recently hitting out at people asking if he was with a carer when out with a friend or relative.

He tweeted: ‘Protip: don’t ask a disabled person if their partner/friend/relative/whoever they happen to be with is their carer. It’s frankly not relevant anyway, and a lot of us are independent enough not to need them so it feels mega patronising to be implied that we need to be looked after.’ The tweet received 679 likes.

Who raped Victoria Barton in Emmerdale?

Victoria’s dark secret is about to come to light (Picture: ITV)

The Big Night Out double episode resulted in some pretty shocking events on Emmerdale, and, in the case of Victoria especially, not all of the consequences of that night have yet come to light.

Victoria Barton (Isobel Hodgins) ended up getting separated from her friends during the course of the evening, and was left looking worried when she missed the taxi that was supposed to take her back home safely.

Now, it’s clear something isn’t right with Victoria, but all viewers have to go on is her closing herself off in her own house, acting like a shadow of her former self.

This has all combined to spark speculation that she could have been sexually assaulted while she was out – so was the traumatised Victoria raped, and if so, who raped her?

Was Victoria Barton raped and who did it?

Even though nothing has been officially confirmed, reports on the subject have claimed that Victoria, who is the longest serving female character in Emmerdale, will indeed be involved in a harrowing rape storyline.

After alienating anyone who cares enough to check in on her while she hides away at home, Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) will eventually be able to dish out enough tough love to get Victoria to confide the awful truth to her.

In a flashback, we’ll see how, after getting separated from her friends and left behind by the taxi at the end of the night, Victoria ended up sitting alone next to a food truck – a seemingly insignificant decision which will prove to have had devastating consequences.

As Isabel herself put it: ‘Victoria’s life will change forever as a result of going to the nightclub.

‘The events will have a massive and long-lasting impact on not only Victoria, but her family too.’

As for the person who hurt Victoria, we can confirm that whoever they are, they are not a current character on Emmerdale.

If you want to know any more than that, you’ll have to tune in.

Norris Cole (Malcolm Hebden) has been a fan favourite on Coronation Street ever since he made his first appearance in 1994.

Since then he has featured in over 1600 episodes, spreading gossip and keeping an eye on customers while working at the Kabin.

His inquisitive nature and comedic timing has seen him become a popular character, even if he is a bit annoying at times.

As Norris makes his return to the street this week, here is everything you need to know about the character and what he’s done during his 20+ years on the soap.

Norris Cole’s story so far on Coronation Street

Norris first appeared on Corrie on 11 March 1994 and quickly became a controversial figure among the other characters because of his nosey, busybody nature.

He arrived after separating from his first wife Myrtle Hargreaves and stayed with his friend Derek Wilton (Peter Baldwin).

During his first few years on the soap he went on to develop a rivalry with Derek, particularly after entering a relationship with his ex-wife Angela Hawthorne (Diane Fletcher).

The two of them eventually got married but the relationship didn’t go too well after that, and Angela didn’t turn up to Derek’s funeral when he died in 1997.

Norris then left the street for two years, and once he returned in 1997 he was divorced from Angela.

On his return he became a permanent resident, initially renting a room at a B&B but in December 1999 he became a lodger in Emily Bishop’s (Eileen Derbyshire) home at 3 Coronation Street.

He became good friends with both Emily and Rita Sullivan (Barbara Knox) and he soon became an employee at The Kabin.

Norris’s time on the street also saw him deal with the arrival of his half-brother Ramsey in March 2009, who he blamed for causing stress to his mother before she died.

They had fought at her funeral and Ramsey left to go live in Australia before returning to try and make amends with Norris after discovering he didn’t have long to live.

Noris had a dramatic storyline involving his half-brother Ramsey (Picture: ITV/REX/Shutterstock)
Norris refused to make up with his brother and in August that year Ramsay left to go back to Australia, but Norris and Emily later discovered that he died on the flight home because of his brain tumour.

Norris then found a letter in Ramsay’s belongings showing that he wasn’t actually a bad man, which led to Norris’s regretting his treatment of his brother who he never truly got to know.

He used the money he got from Ramsay’s will to buy The Kabin from Rita and in 2013 Emily Bishop signed her home at number 3 Coronation Street over to him.

Rita Sullivan [Barbara Knox] and Emily Bishop [Eileen Derbyshire] try to persuade Ramsay Clegg [Andrew Sachs] to stay in Weatherfield.
Ramsey made good friends with Emily and Rita (Picture: ITV/REX/Shutterstock (1085049ce)
In 2017 he got married for a third time, this time to his friend Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) to try and help her win a Mr & Mrs competition.

Mary was hoping that the competition would help her get round-the-world tickets to visit her son Jude Appleton in Australia.

He then left the soap in January 2018 to visit Emily Bishop in Edinburgh, where she was staying with her niece Freda.

Norris ended up staying there longer than initially planned and in February 2019 Rita discovered that Norris had decided to sell The Kabin.

What has Norris Cole done since his return?

Norris returned in dramatic fashion on Monday night’s episode when he arrived in a taxi and told his wife Mary that he wants a divorce.

He explained that he is in love with Freda Burgess (Ali Brigg) and that they are engaged.

Norris is then set to reveal reveal letters that he has been hiding from Mary, which causes more heartache for her.

He won’t be back in the soap for long though, as he is set to leave the street once again at the end of this week, but bosses are hoping to have him return permanently at a later date.

Why is Norris Cole leaving Coronation Street?

It’s sad, but it’s true – the recently returned Norris Cole is set to leave the Corrie once again.

Norris Cole has been played by Malcolm Hebden on Coronation Street on and off since 1994.

Indeed, the show’s boss Iain MacLeod said of Norris at a press event that he is one of those ‘characters who are so Corrie that the show doesn’t feel correct without them in there.’

Now, after returning to the soap after an absence of a year and a half, why is Norris Cole due to leave Coronation Street once again?

Why is Norris Cole leaving Corrie again?

After being introduced to the soap in 1994 and officially becoming a regularly appearing character in 1999, Norris Cole appeared often on Corrie all the way up until December 2017.

Norris’ exit from the show at that time was down to his decision to visit his friend Emily Bishop, and wasn’t shown on screen.

However there was a reason behind the scenes for Norris’ departure – actor Malcolm Hebden had suffered a heart attack and needed time to recover.

Norris returned to the street on Monday (Picture: ITV)
Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette, he said: ‘Most of December I was in an induced coma, in the care of these brilliant, wonderful people at the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Fortunately I didn’t realise how bad it was; I was dying. The cardiac team, headed by Mr Joseph Zacharias, simply saved my life.

‘I was informed by my doctor I had had at least one heart attack. I was sent to hospital, by emergency ambulance to Blackburn hospital and was there one night. While there I collapsed and was brought here to Blackpool Victoria – where I was operated on, in a procedure which was described by my surgeon Mr Zacharias as groundbreaking.

‘The heart attack tore a hole in my heart, they operated and took a chance.’

Thankfully, Malcolm has been well enough to return to Corrie, but just on a temporary basis as he continues to recover.

The show’s bosses are leaving Norris’ role open, with a view to Malcolm returning again in future.

With Norris’ friendship with Mary (Patti Clare) in jeopardy after she refused to grant him a divorce, will the two make up again before Norris leaves Weatherfield once again?

You’ll have to watch and see for yourself.

Anybody have Careless Whisper stuck in their head? (Picture: ITV)

Brendan Finch wasn’t on Corrie for long, but he certainly made an impact on Mary Taylor, and not all for good reasons either.

Brendan Finch (Ted Robbins) and Mary Taylor (Patti Cole) had a short-lived romance years ago on Coronation Street.

Despite the fact that he hasn’t been seen for some time, Mary has recently mentioned Brendan, which just goes to show that, even though he wasn’t on Corrie for long, he certainly made an impact on Mary.

So who was Brendan, and how did it end between him and Mary?

Who is Corrie’s Brendan Finch?

Brendan Finch first appeared on the soap back in 2015, and was always intended to be a love interest for Mary.

The editor of a supernatural magazine, he and Mary hit it off straight away, as Mary was a fan of his work.

Her friend Norris Cole (Malcolm Hebden) however was not so keen, and only showed irritation as their relationship progressed.

However, all was not trouble-free in paradise, as when Brendan invited Mary to a supernatural convention, he mentioned that he was married.

Even though Mary was initially distraught by the news, her feelings for Brendan were too strong to ignore, and they embarked on a short affair.

It wasn’t meant to last however, as, when Brendan’s wife got wind of the affair, she marched down to The Rover to give Mary a piece of her mind and slap to boot.

Mary came clean about the affair, believing she and Brendan were in love, however when Brendan walked in on the scene, he feigned ignorance and tried to convince his wife that poor Mary was some kind of obsessed fan.

His wife didn’t seem to buy it however, telling Mary: ‘You’re not the first, and you won’t be the last,’ and leaving the pub with her philandering husband in tow.

The fact that Mary has brought up Brendan again could be insignificant, but as this is Corrie, and high drama awaits around every corner, could it be that Brendan is about to come back into Mary’s life?

To know for sure, we’ll have to wait and see…

Victoria Barton's (Isabel Hodgins) horrifying rape ordeal revealed
(Picture: ITV)

The full and harrowing truth of what happened to Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) during the group night out has been revealed in Emmerdale.

In some incredibly dark scenes and strong emotional performances from the main characters, the chef was brutally attacked in her own bedroom after trying to ward off the advances of a man she allowed to walk her home.

Their night began after everyone was kicked out of the night club and Victoria was left on her own eating a kebab. She then began to be harassed by a drunk man who wouldn’t take no for an answer, but as he became too much for her, his mate stepped in to intervene.

After dumping their kebabs on the first guy for his disgusting behaviour, Victoria and the guy’s mate, Lee, seemed to hit it off as they went and bought themselves more food.

He invited her to continue the night in Leeds, and though she was adamant she just wanted to go home, he managed to pressure her into saying yes, especially after she spotted Ellis kissing someone else.

They were later kicked out of a cab and forced to walk home, which saw them larking about and enjoying each other’s company. In a heartbreaking moment that could have changed the outcome, she answered a call to Robert Sudgen (Ryan Hawley) offering a lift but she turned him down as she was nearly home.

But when she and Lee got to Victoria’s front door, Lee pressured her into letting him inside.

‘I carried you for miles I deserve a brew,’ he said.

She reluctantly let him in, and they sat chatting for a while on his sofa after she made him his cup of tea. But he misled her into believing he’d called a cab, as he clearly had no intention of going anywhere, but when Victoria realised she told him to get on and ring and that she’d be back in a minute.

(Picture: ITV)

She headed upstairs to get ready for bed, only for Lee to appear in thebedroom doorway.

‘What are you doing here? I thought you were calling a taxi,’ she said, trying not to show she was perturbed by his behaviour.

‘No you said “if” I want to call a taxi, and I don’t,’ he replied.

He menacingly walked in and shut the door behind him, telling her that he knew she wanted it. She demanded he left, but he forced a kiss on her, at which point she tried to make a run for it.

‘Stop acting like you don’t want this as much as me,’ he said, before violently attacking her, leaving her screaming as he tried to gag her mouth.

As the camera panned away, her cries could be heard through the bedroom door.

Victoria was later seen left covered in bruises and lying half naked on the bed as Lee did up his trousers, before leaving her alone in the house.

So Moira now knows the horrific extent of what happened two weeks ago and why Victoria has cut herself off from everyone. What will happen next? Can Moira convince her to go to the police?

Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) tried to have his cake and eat it but got royally caught out in Coronation Street.

He and Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) have been growing closer, particularly when she brought him a load of records in a move that was clearly more effort than from just a mate, so when he got the opportunity to make a move, he did.

Bethany flipped, telling him she hadn’t been hinting at that at all and that he’d massively overstepped the mark.

As Bethany had rebuffed him and his ego was severely bruised, he immediately asked out Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) who was only too keen to agree to a date.

But after a heart to heart with her mum, Bethany realised she needed to come clean with Ryan about how she really felt. She confessed that the reason she’d reacted the way she did was because she hadn’t been with a man since her sexual abuse ordeal, and she was afraid of how she might react if they tried to get intimate.

Ryan assured her he’d never hurt her and would always check she was OK, and, seizing the moment, Bethany launched a kiss on him. The new couple then ended up in bed together, not wanting to waste any time. It was a huge deal for Bethany, who had put her demons aside to be so close with him.

With those two seemingly happy about moving forward, Alya was none the wiser.

During the music night at Speed Daal, a song came on that reminded her of Luke and she ran off in tears. Ryan ran after her to offer comfort, but she misinterpreted the moment as a date.

As he tried to shrug it off it was clear she wasn’t getting the message, so he got blunt with her, telling her he was seeing Bethany.

Naturally, Alya was a little bit miffed seeing as he’d been the one to ask her out, so she lashed out, threatening to tell Bethany all about what kind of man he really is.

As Bethany had trusted him so implicitly with them taking things to the next level, how will she react when she finds out the truth? Is Bethany and Ryan’s new love over before it’s even begun?

Mary is devastated by Norris' lies
(Picture: ITV)

It’s just been one thing after another for Coronation Street’s poor Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) since Norris Cole’s (Malcolm Hebden) return, and now this whopper of a secret is enough to tip her over the edge.

Freda spotted Norris being cagey about a box and when she opened it once he’d gone, she found a bundle of letters addressed to a Mary Taylor. Questioning Rita if that was indeed the correct Mary, she and Rita then set about pondering who they were from.

The mystery was too great for the women and they steamed the letters open, only to discover that Brendan had sent an entire stack of love letters that were never read by their intended recipient.

But the real bombshell – he’d sent one asking for Mary’s hand in marriage, complete with an engagement ring.

They resolved to tell Mary the truth, handing her the letters to realise the love she’d missed out on – all because Norris had kept it from her.

She confronted the cheeky little secret keeper, who justified it by the fact Brendan had been married. But a distraught Mary railed at him at the fact the letters revealed Brendan had left his wife for her and vowed to roam the Earth a broken man until he heard from her.

With that, she slapped a sticker on Norris’ head marking him to be thrown in the bin and stormed out, while declaring she would happily grant his divorce.

Perhaps it’s not too late for Mary and Brendan, will she be able to track him down and tell him how she feels?

Sex shock for Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) and Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace)
(Picture: BBC)

Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) and Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) have been toying with one another for quite some time now in EastEnders, but the pair are finally set to give in to their feelings.

After having been put through the ringer courtesy of her man in the moon Alfie (Shane Richie), Kat’s ready to have some fun — something that became very clear when she started flirting with Kush several weeks back.

On a similar note, Kush hasn’t had much luck after he was dumped by Denise (Diane Parish) earlier this year — and having Big Mo (Laila Morse) as his new flatmate certainly hasn’t helped matters!

With Kat having set her sights on Kush — and Kush evidently returning her interest — she decides to take action. When Stacey (Lacey Turner) sets her up on a date in the Queen Vic with Martin’s (James Bye) supplier, Kat spends the entire meal attempting to make Kush jealous after he drops in for a pint.

Her plan works, so she ditches her date and sneaks off with Kush back to his place!

Afterwards, the pair resolve to keep a lid on their affair. However, given that this is Walford we’re talking about, they encounter a snag pretty early on. With Kush having agreed to let Rebecca (Jasmine Armfield) study round his gaff, they struggle to find a quiet place to meet.

Kat ensures all of the Slaters are out of the house — a tall task considering how many of them there are — and invites her market trader man round for more fun.

However, their desire to keep this thing between them a secret might be short-lived, as Martin and Stacey arrive home after their anniversary dinner!

Will Kat and Kush be caught in the act?

One to watch: Friday 17th May at 8:30pm on BBC One.

Emmerdale’s Isabel Hodgins reveals ‘huge responsibility’ over accurate portrayal of harrowing rape storyline as fans shower her with praise

Isabel Hodgins revealed she felt huge pressure over her rape storyline in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins has responded to fans’ reactions over harrowing scenes in last night’s show which saw Victoria Barton brutally raped in her own bedroom.

Victoria recalled the fateful night in a flashback with Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) as she revealed that she had spent the night chatting to a friendly guy called Lee, with whom she shared a kebab and a journey home.

The pair got on well, and he walked her to her front door, where she then asked him to leave. He told her he’d earned himself a cuppa after giving her a piggy back ride home, so she relented and let him in.

They continued chatting on her sofa, but she eventually asked him to leave, and was shocked to learn he’d lied about calling a taxi. She asked him to call one, then went upstairs to get ready for bed, but he then appeared in the door way. Despite her repeatedly asking him to go, he refused, and then brutally attacked her in her own bedroom.

The actress has since taken to Twitter to thank fans for their ‘kind messages’ over the terrifying scenes, explaining she felt a ‘huge responsibility’ to portray the story as authentically as possible.

She tweeted: ‘Thank you for all your kind messages about tonight’s episode. When emmerdale told me I was doing this storyline I was like oh crumbs that is a huge responsibility!!! (sic).’

She added that she hopes it helps someone else come forward about what happened.

Isabel said: ‘If this story helps at least one person I’ll be forever thankful (sic).’

Fans rushed to praise the actress, as the storyline raised the serious issue of consent as Lee repeatedly ignored Victoria saying no.

The plot is part of Emmerdale’s Big Night Out series of episodes, which first aired a few weeks ago when several villagers went out clubbing for the night and a number of terrible incidents occurred.

Viewers have seen revelations of what really happened explained in a series of flashbacks for Rhona, Maya, and Ellis and Billy.

It has since become clear that Maya was not in fact murdered by Leyla, although Leyla had come to believe she’d killed the abusive school teacher. It was revealed Rhona had cheated on Pete by kissing another man, and Ellis had been stabbed by men after Billy, but Billy had left him bleeding instead of waiting for help because he owned the knife.

Isabel shared she’d had fun filming the night club scenes from that night, writing on Instagram: ‘These ladies Had so much fun on these night shoots with the best people. And now it’s nearly time for Victoria’s flash back of that night. (sic)’

https://www.instagram.com/p/BxNcEk1FfJr/

Tonight the fallout continues, as Moira attempts to help Victoria come to terms with what happens to her, Ellis reacts to Billy’s revelation, and Rhona desperately tries to save her relationship with Pete.
