Coronation Street spoilers: Mysterious Scott exposed as his big secret is revealed

Scott and Peter in Coronation Street
(Picture: ITV)

Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) was horrified in Coronation Street to discover that Scott (Tom Roberts) was the person who attacked Carla Connor’s (Alison King) tormentors.

Viewers will remember that Carla was confronted by Chelsey (Isobella Hubbard) and Jordan (James Boyland) several weeks back.

When the newcomers proceeded to blackmail her, she bravely stripped them of their leverage, as she revealed how she knew them in front of the whole pub.

After they were evicted from the premises, reports of an attack on Brightwell estate began to circulate, and it became apparent that Chelsey and Jordan were the victims of said attack.

Viewers were quick to note that mysterious Rovers resident Scott sported bruises on his hands in the episodes which followed, and therefore it became apparent that he was responsible for the attack.

Peter struggled with a dilemma in tonight’s episode relating to Carla and Amy (Elle Mulvaney), and as he quizzed Emma (Alexandra Mardell) for some advice, Scott intervened — something which Peter wasn’t too happy about, given it was a family matter.

Therefore, he later berated Scott for getting involved in something which wasn’t his business, but the mysterious man refused to be spoken to in such a fashion, and claimed that Peter never has Carla’s back.

The interim landlord’s suspicions were piqued, and as they discussed matters further, Scott insinuated that he was the one who had attacked Chelsey and Jordan.

The question on Peter’s — and the nation’s — lips, of course, is: why?

Why did Scott carry out such a brutal attack in defence of Carla — a woman he barely knows?

This of course, returns us to the question of just who Scott really is?

We’ll just have to wait and see, but the question for now is: what will Peter do with this information?

Yasmeen and Alya in Coronation Street
(Picture: ITV)

Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) was horrified in Coronation Street to learn that Yasmeen (Shelley King) believes that Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) is sorry for what he’s done.

Geoff managed to get in touch with Yasmeen earlier this week after he nicked Alya’s phone and intercepted a call.

Yasmeen was terrified to learn her abusive husband was on the other end of the line, but he revealed that he’d drop the charges if she returns home as his wife.

In spite of Yasmeen’s refusal, he proceeded with his plan, as he asked DS Abney (Fiona Skinner) to drop the charges.

While the CPS ultimately decide on whether the case will be dropped, Yasmeen was shocked to discover what Geoff had done, and — given that she never wanted a trial in the first place — she started to wonder if she should take him up on his proposition.

What’s more, it was revealed during tonight’s episode that Yasmeen believes Geoff’s actions are proof of him being sorry for the heinous acts he carried out — something which devastated Alya when she spoke to her.

Alya reiterated that Geoff is a controlling bully, and his latest actions are simply another attempt to control the narrative and reclaim control.

She asked if Yasmeen was considering taking Geoff back when she’s released, but Yasmeen never answered the question — leaving Alya incredibly concerned.

Will Alya be able to convince Yasmeen to stay away from Geoff?

Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) is about to face the toughest moment of her life as she faces trial following the stabbing of evil Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) – who has been abusing her throughout their marriage in Coronation Street.

Yasmeen has been continuing to suffer in prison while a frantic Geoff has continued to lose the support of former friends and neighbours.

Terrified of losing control and with Yasmeen seeing the cold, hard truth about the man she is married to, Geoff took a new step and offered to drop the charges and withdraw the statement.

With Yasmeen fighting her confusion and wondering if he can ever change, Geoff is smug as he brags on his radio show that he is prepared to forgive his wife.

Later, after a visit from a charity worker which changes Yasmeen’s perspective after a shock discovery, she phones Geoff and tells him that she is prepared to get back together with him.

Geoff tells her that he loves her but is he being played – does Yasmeen know what she is doing? Is there a plan forming as her day in court arrives?

By the end of the week, the first day of the trial has arrived but Yasmeen is in a high state of stress and she suddenly collapses, having suffered a heart attack.

Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) is horrified as she rushes to the hospital to be told that Yasmeen is in a serious situation.

Will the trial be cancelled – and will Yasmeen survive the night? And what will Geoff’s next move be?

Mitchell Deveraux (Imran Adams) asks Toby and Celeste Faroe (Bobby Gordon and Andrea Ali) to be his best man and maid of honour in Hollyoaks.

There has been animosity aplenty between Mitchell, Toby and Celeste over the last couple of months.

Mitchell was devastated to discover that he had secret siblings, and the Deveraux clan was torn apart as a result of Martine (Kelle Bryan) and Walter’s (Trevor A Toussaint) inability to be honest about the matter.

Nonetheless, Mitchell ultimately forgave his mum, and with his wedding to Scott (Ross Adams) imminent, he sets about attempting to get his granddad to come to the service.

Whether or not it works remains to be seen, but later in the week, he bumps into Celeste and Toby, and proceeds to ask them if they’d consider being his maid of honour and best man.

What will they say?

Let’s now forget that Celeste had Mitchell arrested over Felix’s (Richard Blackwood) attack, so there’s still very much some animosity between the siblings.

However, could a celebration such as Scott and Mitchell’s wedding be enough for them to put the past aside and start anew?

Gary and Adam in Coronation Street

It was only a matter of time before the tables turned on angst ridden wannabe gangster Gary Windass (Mikey North). The local furniture dealer has had his finger in a number of criminal pies including fraud, blackmail, loan sharking, assault and even murder in Coronation Street.

And now, as he is followed to the woods where he buried the body of Rick Neelan, it seems like the truth of what he has done is about to come to light.

Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) has been digging for dirt on Gary for months, convinced he is hiding a wealth of crimes that could land him in prison for many years.

Having seen the odd relationship he has with missing Rick’s ex-wife Laura and his daughter Kelly, Adam has started flirting with Laura in order to get information on the source of her income from Rick.

Sure enough, all leads link back to Gary and when Laura explains to Adam that Gary refuses to divulge any information on where Rick is but has issued threats from him, Adam becomes convinced that Gary is covering up Rick’s death.

He later puts this allegation to Gary, who is rocked to the core but tries to hide his unease by dismissing the claims as rubbish.

Later he overhears an excited Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) talking about the potential of finding old coins buried in the woods where Rick’s body has been left.

Gary puts him off the idea but when Brian sees Gary hurrying off with a shovel in his car, he and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) go in pursuit, convinced that Gary is after the treasure himself.

But will they catch him digging up Rick? And will the crimes come to light?

EastEnders star Diane Parish reveals all on ‘tricky’ social distanced filming

Diane Parish in EastEnders: Secrets From The Square
(Picture: BBC)

EastEnders star Diane Parish has revealed that filming while social distancing is ‘difficult’ and ‘tricky.’

The actress — who portrays Denise Fox in the BBC One soap — opened up about how she’s adjusted to the new filming techniques.

She said: ‘It’s been tricky. Actors intrinsically have to be free, they have to be tactile and uninhibited.

‘And when you place inhibition on an actor it can sometimes be hard to be comfortable playing a scene out.

‘You’ve got a third eye on yourself because you’re aware of the things you can’t do. The thing I was taught when I was learning was to leave yourself alone as an actor, and this is the antithesis of that.

Diane Parish in Secrets From The Square
(Picture: BBC)

‘You have to be very aware of yourself so that you don’t touch the wrong thing, or throw your arms around somebody, or walk too close. We have to adhere to those things for our safety. It’s difficult but it’s possible. But it’s good to be working.

‘That’s the important thing for many of us in soap at the moment, is that we are part of a very privileged group in our industry who have jobs to go back to. So I’m grateful for that.’

EastEnders was one of the many soaps that were forced to halt production amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Following the shutdown back in March, episodes were rationed out in an effort to keep the soap on the air, but the final pre-lockdown episode aired June 16.

Production has resumed with social distancing measures in place on set.

Diane and co-star Tameka Empson — who portrays on-screen sister Kim Fox — take centre stage in Monday’s episode of Secrets From The Square, where they’ll sit down with Stacey Dooley and reminisce about their greatest moments.

Tameka Empson in EastEnders: Secrets From The Square
(Picture: BBC)

Tameka Empson will seemingly reprise her role as Kim Fox in EastEnders later this year.

Soap expert Sharon Marshall confirmed the news earlier this week on This Morning.

She said: ‘The great news is that Tameka is going to be back filming soon.

‘I don’t think she’s been on the set since last year, and I’ve really missed the sisterly relationship between Denise and Kim.’

Kim headed off to Scotland for a new business venture after Denise (Diane Parish) fired her from Fox & Hair.

What’s more, the character struggled to accept the fact that Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) and Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith) had moved into the house she owned with Vincent (Richard Blackwood) — before he disappeared in 2018 after getting involved with Aidan Maguire (Patrick Bergin).

Tameka and co-star Diane Parish — who portrays Denise on The BBC soap — will take centre stage in next week’s Secrets From The Square, where they’ll sit down with Stacey Dooley and reminisce about their time on the soap thus far.

After taking a trip down memory lane, the iconic duo will then take Stacey to Fox & Hair in order to give her a behind the scenes tour.

He said on social media: ‘Having only just seen the devastating news of the passing of our beautiful & elegant Paula Tilbrook.

‘I’ll never forget the b******ing (rightly so) she gave me having been late – & so consequently, unprepared. “Fail to prepare. Prepare to fail chuck! Now let’s get on wi it!”

Paula Tilbrook passed away in December 2019, but her death was revealed yesterday by The Stage.

The actress had portrayed Betty Eagleton in the long-running serial drama from 1994 to 2015.

‘Paula was at the heart of Emmerdale for many years and she will be greatly missed by all who worked with her and by the fans of her character, Betty.

Emmerdale’s Alexander Lincoln told he got Jamie Tate role on way to another job interview

Alexander Lincoln found out that he got a part on Emmerdale while he was on the way to another job interview.

He made his debut as Jamie Tate – estranged son of icon Kim – last year, and has settled into life on the show very well, becoming a firm fan favourite.

Speaking about the moment he was told the good news, the 26-year-old revealed it could have been a completely different career path.

Appearing on Lorraine via a live-link in Leeds, the host asked if he was somewhere ‘exotic’ when the confirmation came.

‘I wasn’t, no… I was in Walthamstow. I think I was on my way to an interview for a cinema I was going to be working at,’ Alex replied.

‘Then I got the call through and it was sort of shock, filled with fear, and then just happiness.

‘A whole year, I can’t believe it. It’s gone so quickly.’

It really, really has.

The soap star also opened up about life back in the Dales, lifting the lid on measures Emmerdale bosses had taken to ensure everyone’s safety on set.

The serial drama returned to filming recently, with viewers praising the special lockdown episodes.

Discussing being back at work, Alex praised those behind the scenes for all their hard work.

‘It is quite strange getting back to it,’ he continued. ‘They’ve got a doctor / paramedic on the door as you go into the studio, with a temperature gun, and they take your temperature before you go in.

‘If you’re sweaty or whatever then they sit you down for 10 minutes and give you a drink of water before you go into the studios.

‘It’s great. The work they’ve done in getting it all set up is brilliant. They’ve got all different cohorts, which is a different unit for each studio.

‘It’s got a one-way system that you go around in, which means if you go a bit wrong and want to go to the toilet, you get lost for about an hour.’

Lorraine continues on weekdays, at 9am, on ITV.

EastEnders star Tameka Empson confirms she’s given birth to baby boy while discussing ‘secret’ pregnancy

EastEnders star Tameka Empson has confirmed she has given birth to a baby boy.

The actress, 43, welcomed her new addition during lockdown and confirmed his safe arrival while appearing on Loose Women via video link on Thursday.

Tameka, who plays Kim Fox in the BBC soap, joked she has been busy ‘contributing to the human race’ while the pandemic hit, as she discussed why she had chosen to keep her pregnancy a secret.

‘I have a baby boy, [it’s] very tiring,’ she told the panel.

‘Nothing prepares you for it, at one stage I’m with my daughter, who’s six, and I’m doing homeschooling and then you’ve got a newborn, who you’ve just got to watch doing everything… but I’ve come through it.’

Asked why she chose not to publicly reveal her pregnancy, Tameka said it wasn’t intentional for news she was expecting to be a secret, but she wanted time to herself to enjoy it.

She explained: ‘It wasn’t so much deliberate, I just wanted to enjoy it.

‘Something like a baby comes and you just want to enjoy it before everybody [comments], it wasn’t a secret as such, but now he’s here and loud, so everyone knows.’

Tameka appeared on the show alongside her co-star Diane Parish, who plays Denise Fox in EastEnders, and the two are set to appear in Secrets of the Square, hosted by Stacey Dooley, to take a look back at their characters and storylines over the years.

The spin-off is airing on BBC One during lockdown, as new episodes dried up as a result of restriction measures.

EastEnders is now back filming on set, with Denise revealing that it’s proving challenging for the soap stars, due to new guidelines in place.

‘What’s really unnatural as actors is you’ve got to be organic, but now we have to try and stick to what we’re doing and it’s very planned out,’ Denise said.

‘It forces a different type of technique, we’re not allowed to just pick something up if we want to, we’re not allowed to get too close. But, we’re making it work!’

Tameka also confirmed that fans will see Kim back in Albert Square, but she is unsure of her return date just yet.

‘By the end of the year [I’ll be back],’ Tameka revaeled. ‘Not quite sure just yet, but I’ll be back.’

Emmerdale spoilers: Cain Dingle seethes with fury tonight as Kim Tate vows to destroy Moira’s farm

Cain and Kim in Emmerdale

Kim Tate (Claire King) has seemingly made an enemy out of Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) in Emmerdale after she threatened to destroy Butlers farm.

With Moira (Natalie J Robb) in a bad way following the hit and run, Cain headed up to the farm to see how things were going in her absence.

However, upon his arrival, he walked in on Rhona (Zoe Henry) discussing her partnership with Nate (Jurrell Carter).

Rhona attempted to explain herself — revealing that her intentions were only ever good and that she didn’t want to hurt Moira.

Cain seemingly believed her, and ultimately decided that Moira didn’t need any unnecessary stress, and therefore resolved to keep their secret hidden.

However, things became somewhat complicated when Kim showed up — as she had also learned of Nate’s alliance with Rhona.

Believing the farmhand to be conspiring behind her back, she swore revenge, as she resolved to bankrupt Butlers.

Cain didn’t say anything, but his face did all the talking, as he was naturally appalled by her intentions.

In tonight’s episode, Nate and Rhona take it upon themselves to try and amend the situation by calming Cain down following Kim’s threat.

The question is: will they succeed?

Or will Cain do whatever he deems necessary to protect his wife’s farm?

Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) is left shocked in Coronation Street as Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) promises to seek professional help.

Geoff managed to get in touch with Yasmeen after he nicked Alya’s phone and intercepted a call.

The abuser revealed that he’d drop the charges if Yasmeen returns home as his wife.

Yasmeen wasn’t so sure, and thus Geoff proceeded with his plan, as he asked DS Abney (Fiona Skinner) to drop the charges.

While the future of the trial remains up in the air given that its not up to Geoff but rather the CPS, Yasmeen was shocked to learn that he’d gone through with his plan and attempted to have the charges dropped.

She came to believe that he might have changed, and unsure of what to believe, she speaks to him again once more for clarification on matters.

Handing her a contraband phone, Yasmeen’s pal Lucie urges her to call Geoff and show him who’s boss.

Geoff is taken aback when he hears Yasmeen voice on the other end of the call, and therefore — in an effort to manipulate things once more — he promises that when Yasmeen comes home, things will be different and he’ll seek professional help.

Afterwards, Yasmeen is all the more confused — but what will she do?

Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) is about to make a further shocking discovery in Coronation Street relating to the abuse that she has suffered at the hands of Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) – as his ex-wife, who he has always claimed to be dead, arrives in Weatherfield.

Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) clocks Elaine (Paula Wilcox) watching Geoff and Tim (Joe Duttine) as the trial of Yasmeen dawns.

Geoff has been trying to persuade Yasmeen that he is a changed man – and it seems like she is close to believing him.

After getting a big shock when she is visited by a woman from a domestic abuse charity, Yasmeen’s head is all over the place – and she ends up ringing Geoff using the contraband phone. As she hears his voice, she confirms that she is willing to give their marriage another chance.

Shelley revealed: I think it’s a possibility that she believes Geoff is sorry. We don’t know – because it’s not up to the police to drop the charges, it’s up to the court. So we’re not quite sure what’s going to happen, whether the courts will allow him to drop the charges. Or indeed, Geoff to visit her, because he’s applied for a prison visit. She overhears somebody talking about the fact that he has emailed for a prison visit.

‘She’s thinking about it. It’s a dilemma because she really wants him to change. We don’t know what she’s going to do, as many women do believe it and that’s why these relationships go on and on. And the thing is, if Yasmeen says “I believe you” then that’s it, the charges are dropped and they start living again. But will she?’

The arrival of Elaine could of course change everything. Why has Geoff lied about her fate – and what will she have to reveal about his true nature?
