Coronation Street spoilers: Final showdown for David Platt and rapist Josh Tucker

David and Josh have a showdown in Coronation Street
(Picture: MCPIX/Mark Campbell)

These are the tense scenes which see David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Josh Tucker (Ryan Clayton) once again come face to face as Josh stands trial for rape in Coronation Street. When David first reported the crime, the police had insufficient evidence to prosecute but now there is a chance that Josh could pay for his crime.

David last came into contact with Josh when he was in prison. During a riot, Josh was stabbed and David took the blame as Josh framed him for the attempted murder. However, after some pressure from Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), Josh told the truth.

Now, Coronation Street cast have been filming scenes at court which will see David take the stand against Josh, who was in prison after committing a further sexual assault. Will David be believed as he relives the horrendous ordeal and hopefully seizes closure?

Jack and Ryan were spotted taking a break from filming and having some lunch outside of the court set on location. It has already been confirmed that Julia Goulding has filmed her final scenes as David’s wife Shona so it seems likely that she won’t be present to support him in court.

These could well be the final scenes for Josh as his storyline reaches a close. He was first introduced as a mate for David but he soon took advantage by drugging him and sexually assaulting him.

David felt too ashamed to open up but it was the suicide of Aidan Connor which prompted David to speak out as he feared he could meet a similar fate. Charges against Josh were dropped but David drove him out of Weatherfield, only coming face to face with him again when he was jailed for Nick’s (Ben Price) theft of Audrey’s (Sue Nicholls) money.

The scenes will air early next year.

Coronation Street’s Sally Dynevor was understandably emotional as she phoned into Lorraine after climbing to Mount Everest’s base camp for charity.

The star, who plays Sally Metcalfe on the soap, has raised a whopping £100,000 for Prevent Breast Cancer following her own battle with cancer 10 years ago.

Chatting to Lorraine Kelly on the phone during her descent, Sally said: ‘We’re shattered, we’re really tired now because we’re descending.

‘The altitude sickness is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before, I wish I could show you what I can see from out of this window.

‘I’m so proud of the whole team.’

Confessing she’s been getting emotional, she added: ‘I’ve missed my family more than anything, every time they send me a picture or message I burst into tears.’

True to her word, when the host surprised her with a sweet message from her husband Tim and daughter Hattie, the star burst into tears.

‘Thank you for sharing our story – I’m crying again! It has been amazing and you’ve really helped,’ she said.

Sally reached an altitude of 5364 metres, sharing gorgeous snaps on her Instagram of the scenery.

Sharing a video of the stunning mountainous backdrop, she said in a video: ‘I can see it in front of us.

‘That’s where we’re going, and then have a cup of tea, and then walk back down, and then we’ll be acclimatised. Got a bit of a headache, but I’m okay.’

Sally’s climb comes 10 years after she was diagnosed with breast cancer after her storyline on the show inspired her to get a lump on her chest checked.

Previously speaking to OK! Magazine about battling cancer, Sally said: ‘I still haven’t come to terms with having breast cancer. I just can’t believe it happened to me. It’s mainly the fear.’

She added: ‘I’ve locked it away and shoved it to the back of my mind, probably for self-preservation. But I’m going to walk up those mountains getting rid of all those boxed up feelings as I go.’

When asked if she worried about her cancer returning, she said: ‘You don’t ever stop thinking about it. That’s why I couldn’t watch Sinead Tinker’s final scenes on Corrie. It brought back all those emotions. I could feel what she was feeling.’

Lorraine airs weekdays at 8:30am on ITV.

Jacob Gallagher’s (Joe-Warren Plant) head is all over the place once more due to the release of sex abuser Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) in Emmerdale. Upon hearing that she was getting out, Jacob’s feelings for her and her hold over him returned.

He fled his date with Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger) and headed out to meet with Maya, pursued by David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden). David stopped Jacob from seeing Maya but it was clear that Jacob wasn’t giving up on his hopes of having a future with Maya.

He told David that he couldn’t stop him and, upstairs, he made several attemps to contact Maya by text and phone. Maya meanwhile, stepped out of prison and deleted Jacob’s number after a moment of hesitation before holding a clearly pregnant stomach.

Emmerdale aren’t commenting on whether Maya’s baby is David’s or Jacob’s but, despite the twist, spokespersons confirmed to Metro.co.uk that there are no current plans for Louisa to return to the role of Maya.

However, the bombshell is there, waiting to explode.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to display a show of normality, Jacob goes on another date with Leanna tonight and assures her he does have feelings for her. Rocked by a clear rejection from Maya, he is determined to make a go of things with Leanna, but is he using her?

Leanna is nervous as she and Jacob share a heated kiss and, as she unbuttons her blouse, there is a sense that she isn’t completely ready to go through with it. And, as they sleep together, Liam (Jonny McPherson) will hit Jacob with some serious accusations about taking advantage of his daughter.

Is he right to declare that Jacob was forceful in the situation? And what will the consequences be?

Emmerdale continues on Wednesday 20 November at 7pm on ITV.

Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) is set to face arrest in Coronation Street tonight as he goes on a rampage in a pawn shop, convinced that they have his stolen laptop containing videos left for him and Bertie by Sinead.

A spate of burglaries in the area, actually committed by Kel (Joseph Alessi), has seen Daniel’s laptop go missing – an added blow in the wake of Sinead’s funeral. As Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) can see how much it is breaking Daniel to have lost the precious final memories of his late wife, he offers to go with him round pawn shops to try and see if they can locate the stolen computer.

When they arrive at one, Daniel is convinced that he has seen the laptop in the cabinet and demands it back, accusing the shocked shop owner of handling stolen goods. Craig tries to diffuse the situation but as things get out of hand, Daniel grabs a nearby golf club and smashes the glass of the cabinet to try and get the computer.

(Picture: ITV)

It turns out that he is wrong about the laptop and the police are called. They prepare to put vulnerable Daniel under arrest but Craig tries to intervene with his colleagues and explain Daniel’s circumstances. Can he stop him being locked up?

Meanwhile, Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) will get suspicious about Kel’s behaviour and, after some digging, will realise that he has been stealing from the neighbours. But as she looks into it further, a discovery is made which looks set to expose the true nature of the child abuser.

When he is reported to police by Bernie, he lashes out at her and ends up holding her hostage as Paul (Peter Ash) and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) rush to the rescue.

But as Kel is apprehended, will Daniel’s lost memories of Sinead be recovered?

Coronation Street continues on Wednesday 20 November at 7:30pm on ITV.

Former Coronation Street and Loose Women star Shobna Gulati has shared a heartbreaking social media post on Instagram following the tragic death of her mother. Revealing that she is ‘heartbroken’ following the loss a few weeks ago, Shobna admitted that she is not sure how to live without her.

The actress, best known for playing Sunita Alahan in the soap, said in a moving post accompanied with a picture of her mum: ‘Our beautiful mum passed away , a few weeks ago, peacefully in her sleep . Still processing, these days are hard . She was our lynchpin connecting us as a family .

‘Our lives are changed and life is very different now . She did her very best and in the last 25 years I grew to know her as a person and the amazing woman that was our mum and for that circumstance and time I am truly grateful . She taught me such a lot … but not how to live without her . Completely heartbroken.’

(Picture: ITV)

She recently wrote in a blog for Alzheimer’s Research UK Dementia Blog: ‘Vascular dementia has definitely made Mum more socially isolated, and more and more of today’s older generation is facing this future. It’s also isolating for carers, like me and my siblings.

‘In our community it’s normal for everyone to know everyone else’s business, it’s a very social affair. But when you’re struggling to cover cracks in normal life, it can also create a real social pressure.

‘Talking about dementia, and the value of research, is vital. It’s such an important way to break down these stigmas.’

Shobna left the role of Sunita in 2013, during a dramatic pub fire storyline after the character had an affair with Karl Munro. During her stint, she had a number of high profile storylines, including being taken hostage by husband Dev’s stalker ex Maya Sharma.

Will anyone realise what Prue is up to?
Harlow is at risk from her own mum, but will anyone realise? (Picture: Channel 5)

There are huge things happening in Neighbours this week meaning there is a lot of distraction and a high chance no one will realise just how much danger Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan) is in. And she could be about to leave Ramsay Street for good.

When her mum Prue (Denise Van Outen) showed up in town it was obvious Prue had some kind of ulterior motive for being there, she’d previously said she wasn’t bothered about being in her daughter’s life, so why suddenly rock up in Ramsay Street?

It’s a question no one has really pushed deep enough, and it might mean Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) could lose Harlow forever.

Prue tells Harlow she wants to take her back to London and with Ned (Ben Hall) still suffering, Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) secretly drinking and Paul facing the class action, Harlow has no one to talk to. Paul and Terese find out about it and are horrified, promising to do better. But when Terese slips up she plays right into Prue’s hands.

Terese is struggling to cope and late that night sneaks downstairs for a drink. But she gets caught – Prue sees everything. It’s the leverage she needs, and she pressures Terese to let Harlow leave with her or she’ll spill to Paul that Terese has fallen off the wagon.

With her hand forced, Terese betrays Paul by suggesting Harlow makes the decision, and that it might not be a bad thing if Prue takes Harlow so that the teenager can finally have a life with her mum. Harlow agrees to go, much to Terese and Paul’s devastation.

Has Paul lost his granddaughter for good?
Paul has no idea what is really about to happen to Harlow (Picture: Channel 5)

But no one realises what Prue’s true intentions are – to take Harlow to The Order and force her into a life with the cult.

The street is shocked by Harlow’s announcement of her departure and they come out in force to bid their farewells. Gary and Amy begin to talk as Harlow and Prue leave for the airport. As they compare their notes the penny begins to drop and they realise exactly what Prue has in store.

Now it’s a race against time to save the teen from what her mum’s evil plan. Can they reach the airport before the pair get on the plane?

Scenes air from Monday 25th November at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.

Is Maya returning to Emmerdale and who is the father of her baby?

Maya Stepney’s pregnancy came as a shock reveal to Emmerdale viewers (Picture: ITV)

Emmerdale viewers had a shock last night when they learned that paedophile Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) is pregnant.

Tuesday night’s episode of the soap saw Maya released from prison after serving half her sentence, following her grooming and sexual abuse of teenager Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant).

However the character was seen sporting a noticeable baby bump as she left prison and headed off.

So just who is the father of her baby – and could this mark a return to Emmerdale for the character?

Here’s what you need to know…

Who is the father of Maya’s baby in Emmerdale?

As it stands we don’t know who the father of Maya’s baby is.

Louisa Clein as Maya Stepney in Emmerdale
She was seen sporting the baby bump as she walked to freedom (Picture: ITV)

While the character was having a sexual relationship with Jacob, she was also having a relationship with his dad David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden).

So either one of them could feasibly be Maya’s babyfather.

The shock pregnancy was revealed as Jacob learned from David and Leyla (Roxi Shahidi) that Maya was due for release – and initially he seemed to brush the news off, claiming he was going out to the cinema with Leanna (Mimi Slinger).

While David and Leyla were pleased that the teenager appeared to be moving on with his life, he later disappeared as he attempted to track Maya down.

He failed to do so, but did attempt to ring her – with viewers seeing Maya deleting Jacob’s number from her phone before walking off, and making it very clear that she’s expecting.

Is Maya returning to Emmerdale?

As it stands Maya is not set to come back, with a spokesperson for the soap telling metro.co.uk: ‘There are no current plans for Maya to return.’

However Louisa Clein – who took to Twitter in the wake of the reveal – recently explained that she wasn’t ruling it out, adding that there could be more to explore with the character.

‘There’s certainly room for the story to develop,’ she said at the Inside Soap Awards.

‘We purposefully made this story go for a long long time and there will be long long repercussions with Jacob, with David, with all the people she affected in the village, so who knows?’

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7pm.

Jacob and Leanna kiss in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Damaged teenager Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) has behaved appallingly in Emmerdale as Maya Stepney’s (Louisa Clein) hold over him continues to twist him. As he pined for her following his release, he ended up using Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger) to try and distract himself.

As he continued to wait for contact from Maya, who yesterday came out of prison sporting a pregnant stomach, Leanna wanted to know why he was being so off with her. They ended up spending the day together and as leanna got up to leave due to Jacob’s dismissive nature, he assured her that he liked her and he was lucky to be with her.

They started kissing and one thing led to another but Jacob was awkward afterwards and got dressed before heading to leave. A hurt Leanna asked why he was going and if she had done something wrong and Jacob was guilty to realise that it had been her first time. As he walked out, Leanna felt horrible about herself.

Back home, all Jacob could focus on was Maya as he pored over a picture of her while also checking his phone for any contact. It’s clear that he is unable to get her out of his head after her toxic grooming of him – and this has now been at the expense of Leanna.

Later, Leanna was disgusted when she got a blunt text from Jacob asking if she was on the pill and she realised the truth of the situation. Regretting their encounter, she will open up to her dad (Jonny MacPherson), who will be livid with Jacob and attack him, accusing him of putting pressure on his daughter to have sex before she is ready.

Will Jacob realise the cruelty of his actions – and will it give him a wake up call over what Maya’s abuse has made him become?

Vanessa dumps Charity in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Losing Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) has proven to be a huge wake up call to Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) in Emmerdale as she has realised how deeply in love she is with her and how she has helped her to become a more stable and responsible person.

Stung by Charity’s lies around the casino scam, Vanessa decided enough was enough and called time on the relationship and despite Charity promising to change and begging her to take her back, defiant Vanessa has stood her gound, determined to prove that she can’t just be walked over and they are equals in this partnership.

Since the split, things have been chaotic for Charity, with Moses ending up in the middle of a kidnap drama. She then fell out with both Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and after Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) got ill after a party in the house, Charity feared that things could have been much worse due to her heart condition.

Telling Vanessa that she is the only one she can talk to and be honest with, Charity made another attempt to win her round and told her how much she was struggling without her. It gave Vanessa food for thought and she later called round to reiterate to Charity that while she has proven her priorities are right this week with the kids and she loves her for it, she won’t be lied to again.

Promising that she will do her best and not lie to her again, Charity pinned her hopes on another chance and Vanessa soon pulled her close as they shared a reunion kiss. Back on track, Charity realises she may have taken things for granted – while Vanessa added that she doesn’t like always being the sensible one.

As previously predicted by Metro.co.uk, this split may have done the couple the world of good as they look to the future once more.

Liam Cavanagh and Jacob Gallagher in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) is about to get a serious wake up call over his recent appalling behaviour in Emmerdale when Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) discovers that he slept with Leanna (Mimi Slinger) before walking out on her.

After Jacob took Leanna’s virginity while still having his mind messed up by the release of Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein), she was confused and hurt when he was cold and distant with her before leaving straight after the act.

Later on, she was further taken aback when he sent a blunt text asking if she is on the pill. Tonight, after Leanna implies that Jacob put pressure on her to have sex, Liam takes this as an allegation amounting to sexual assault and he is on the warpath.

He bursts into the shop and attacks Jacob, hitting him and ranting at him for his deplorable behaviour. As David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) can’t believe his ears over what has happened, the situation spirals out of control and Liam ends up being arrested.

As news of Jacob’s selfish behaviour spreads, he will find himself isolated – but what consequences will there be for Liam as he is charged with assault? Could he lose his job as a GP as a result of his altercation with Jacob?

And will the trouble serve as a wake up call to Jacob that he is out of control and has issues he needs to address, given that he is hurting those around him?

The situation is more complicated still as it was recently confirmed on her release that Maya is pregnant with a baby that could be Jacob’s or David’s. However, Emmerdale confirmed to Metro.co.uk that there are no current plans for the character to return so that seems to be a bombshell for a later date.

Emmerdale continues on Thursday 21 November at 7pm on ITV.

Ever since Jade arrived to support troubled Hope’s education, viewers have been wary that there is something not right with her and it has become clear that she has a vendetta against the family as she secretly plots againt them.

And in an upsetting turn of events, she will manage to paint the loving parents as unsuitable to take care of the kids, leading to social services becoming involved. But just what is her grudge and how far is she prepared to go in order to destroy them?

A source told The Sun: ‘The couple will be completely blindsided by having their children taken off them and at a loss as to how it could have happened. But it is actually Jade that has reported them to social services for allegedly abusing Hope and Tyrone’s daughter, Ruby.

As Fiz and Tyrone try to work out why Jade has done this and how they can prove their innocence, Jade herself vanishes but Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) manages to track the spiteful nanny down.

But how far will she go to get to the truth about Jade’s actions – and could she make things worse for Fiz and Tyrone in the process?

Scenes were recently filmed which saw Fiz and Tyrone forced to attend court.

Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent has revealed that she ‘sat and cried’ after trying on multiple outfits for a night out.

The actress — who plays Sophie Webster in the ITV soap — gave birth to her first child with partner Kean Bryan last month, and has opened in a new post up about how she ‘felt ashamed’ after she tried on several outfits, and was unable to find anything that she felt ‘looked right’.

Taking to Instagram, Brooke posted a selfie of herself wearing ‘watermelon PJs & slippers’, and captioned it with: ‘Tonight I was supposed to look completely different, I was supposed to be dressed up, hair and make up done ready to eat some nice food and maybe have my first cocktail in 11 months with Kean, our first time away from Mexx for an hour or two, instead I look like this.’

‘I look like this because I naively thought that 4 weeks after my baby I would be in all my old clothes looking exactly like I did before I got pregnant.’

https://www.instagram.com/p/B5GOQLwDiZR/

‘I thought my jeans would instantly fit and I would just be my “old self” only with my new beautiful baby. How wrong I was, I tried 23 outfits on at least, nothing looked right, nothing looked like me and I felt like I was looking at a completely different person, I suppose to a certain extent I now am, I am Mexx’s mum.’

Brooke revealed how she ‘sat and cried and felt ashamed’. However, she was determined to highlight to followers that it’s ‘important to be honest’, while also enforcing that it’s important for mums not to be hard on themselves after giving birth.

She said: ‘This was so important for me to say, for all the women who think they should look, act or feel a certain way after a baby DONT! Don’t beat yourself up. Do you & if 4/6/8weeks or even a year after giving birth you don’t fit in your old clothes don’t worry, you can always join my club.’

‘it’s important to be honest because being a new mummy is daunting enough! The most important thing is me & Mexx are healthy & happy and as soon as my baby boy looked at me, I realised he doesn’t care if i fit in my old jeans or not .. So I guess creased watermelon PJs & slippers for now it is’.

Brooke took to Instagram last month to reveal that she’d given birth, saying: On Wednesday 23rd October at 8.14am Our Baby Boy Arrived. Mexx S J Bryan, you complete us.’

The actress is currently on maternity leave, and her character Sophie is off on her travels with ex Kate Connor (Faye Brookes) after girlfriend Paula Martin (Stirling Gallacher) bought tickets for her.

While it hasn’t yet been revealed if Sophie will return, the character would no doubt be horrified to less than pleased to learn that Paula is set to spend the night with Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) in her absence.

Coronation Street continues Friday 22ndNovember at 7:30pm on ITV.

Things are set to escalate in Emmerdale tonight as Jacob’s recent treatment of Leanna becomes public news and her dad Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) goes on the warpath to punish the teen for his behaviour.

Leanna was left hurt after Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) took her virginity and then was cold and distant afterwards and has since implied that she felt pressured by him into having sex.

Jacob will have to answer for his behaviour soon enough, but will Leanna ever learn the truth about the cause of his fragile emotional state? Only time will tell.

Who plays Leanna in Emmerdale?

Leanna Cavanagh in Emmerdale is played by actress Mimi Slinger.

The 16-year-old soap star grew up in Singapore before returning to the UK to study at the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London.

Mimi joined the cast of Emmerdale in March 2018 and her storyline saw her character Leanne quickly become involved with Jacob after the pair were partnered up for a science project.

With her father Liam set to be arrested for attacking Jacob and her step-mother Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) about to walk free from prison, the future looks uncertain and undoubtedly troubled for Leanna in the Dales.

Emmerdale continues tonight, Thursday 21 November, at 7pm on ITV.

EastEnders spoilers: Evil Leo King threatens Jack Branning after he makes a shocking arrest

Leo King and Jack Branning in EastEnders

Leo King (Tom Wells) found himself in a rather awkward situation in EastEnders tonight, as he was arrested by Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) after causing a scene in a court house. Although he expertly talked himself out of the charge, he was later disgruntled when he came to realise that Jack was related to none other than Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty). Desperate for revenge on Whitney, Leo resorted to some pretty drastic measures to ensure the young woman remained in the dark about his actions earlier that day.

As Jack arrived to give evidence in court, Leo waited in the corner — hoping to catch a glimpse of the man who was due to appear in the courtroom. When the assailant arrived, Leo proceeded to harass the man, claiming that this is no type of justice. Jack wasted little time in intervening, and Leo found himself down at the police station.

Being a paralegal — not to mention an expert at constructing a narrative to paint himself in a positive light — he was able to avoid getting charged — much to Jack’s dismay.

Later, the young man went for a drink with Whitney, and as the pair discussed their respective families, Whitney introduced her beau to her uncle. Awks.

Of course, Leo has went to extreme lengths to win Whitney over, and now that he’s done so, he’s closer than ever to getting revenge. Clashing with Jack could ruin his chances, and thus he set about doing some damage control.

After approaching Jack in the market, Leo asked him to keep his arrest from Whitney. However, Jack wasn’t so keen — and he proceeded to suggest that Whitney should know the truth.

With Jack outsmarting him at every given opportunity, Leo turned nasty and subtextually threatened Jack by suggesting that he’ll claim he used force when arresting him earlier should the truth come out. What’s more, Leo went further —reminding him that he doesn’t have the best track record as a cop.

Threatening a police officer is a serious offence for anyone, but for a man of the law, it’s not a good look. Mind you, Leo’s determined to get revenge on Whitney and he’s not willing to let anyone get in his way.

Yes, he’s beginning to demonstrate his sinister qualities, but has he crossed the wrong person in Jack?

We know that Jack seemingly ends up getting beaten up later down the line, so could Leo perhaps be the one responsible for the attack?

EastEnders continues Friday 22ndNovember at 9pm.

Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) faced quite the dilemma in EastEnders, as boyfriend Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway (Tony Clay) asked him to give up his life of crime. Given that Ben has built quite the reputation being an orchestrator of dodgy deals, he wasn’t so keen, but with the prospect of losing Callum becoming more likely, he was left uncertain of what to do for the best.

Tonight, he attempted to make amends with Callum — who was in the middle of a meeting with Jack (Scott Maslen) about getting the ball rolling in regards to his police career. After putting his foot down in previous episodes, Callum remained steadfast in his position, and refused to let Ben talk him out of his dream.

It wasn’t just Callum’s anger that Ben was on the receiving end of either, as Martin (James Bye) and Kathy (Gillian Talyforth) reminded him of how unlikeable a human being he was becoming — and Ben finally started to see it for himself when he realised just how much Martin detested working for him.

(Picture: BBC)

After making a successful sale at the car lot, Ben realised that he actually does have what it takes to go legit — but the question remained whether he wanted to or not. Mind you, with Callum on the line, he soon realised what he needed to do.

Yes, Ben finally did the right thing and agreed to put an end to the arrangement he had with Martin. Additionally, he let Karen (Lorraine Stanley) off with her repayments, before handing the money-lending operation over to Tubbs full-time.

An overjoyed Callum heard what Ben had done, and rushed to ask him whether or not he was doing this for him. In typical Ben fashion, he denied such a thing, but his reasons for going legit were incredibly apparent as he took hold of his man and gave him a passionate kiss.

It appears as if love really can conquer all, eh?

No, you’re crying.

EastEnders star Cliff Parisi has joined Coronation Street’s Andrew Whyment to become the two brand new camp-mates to enter the jungle and join the cast of I’m A Celebrity 2019.

Ant and Dec revealed last night that Cliff and Andy would be joining the other stars, including Caitlyn Jenner, Nadine Coyle, Roman Kemp and Jacqueline Jossa in the Australian jungle camp – but not until they had taken part in their first Bushtucker Trial.

Cliff has made appearances in both Hollyoaks and Casualty over the years as well as playing Fred Buckle the handyman in Call the Midwife since 2012.

The actor is probably best-known for his time starring in EastEnders – but who did he play?

Who did Cliff Parisi play in EastEnders?

Cliff Parisi played trouble-making Ricky ‘Minty’ Peterson the mechanic in EastEnders for eight years from 2002 to 2010.

A pal of Phil Mitchell’s who wasn’t shy of a fight, Minty both threw and received his fair share of punches in and around the Queen Vic during his time in Walford.

Unlucky in love, Minty had a brief relationship with an Australian stripper called SJ until he discovered she was was using him for money, before becoming involved with Hazel Hobbs (his best friend’s mum). The pair got engaged but she called it off when she hit the menopause because she knew Minty wanted a child. Minty eventually made it up the aisle with Heather Trott but, alas, she ended up leaving him for Sam Mitchell.

Minty eventually left The Square in 2010 to go and live with fellow mechanic Garry Hobbs, with whom he had a long-term and supportive friendship.

When it was announced that Cliff, along with five other actors, were getting the chop from the soap’s cast back in 2010, former EastEnders star Phil Daniels spoke out against the decision saying that Cliff’s character Minty was ‘good’ and it was ‘sad’ to see him go.

‘It’s sad to see characters leave the Square but obviously when a new executive producer like Bryan Kirkwood comes on board they’re always keen to refresh the show and make some changes,’ a BBC spokeswoman said at the time.

‘It’s the way soaps work, characters run their course and new characters come along.’
