EastEnders cast and crew have been filming some high octane and violent scenes for the new year as Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) will finally discover the true identity of Leo King (Tom Wells), leading to a vicious assault at the grave of his paedophile father Tony.

Tony groomed and abused Whitney as a teenager for years while he was with her mum Bianca (Patsy Palmer) and Whitney eventually spoke out about her ordeal, leading to Tony being jailed. He later died in prison but his son, Leo, is convinced that his dad was innocent and has targeted Whitney for revenge.

After finding her via Bianca, he has built a connection with Whitney, who thinks she is in a loving relationship with him – but disaster is set to strike when he exposes the true nature of his motives and leaves her terrified for her life. But how far is he prepared to go and will Whitney manage to escape his clutches.

In scenes filmed at a graveyard, Leo launches a fierce attack on a frightened Whitney, revealing who he is and blaming her for Tony’s death. He grabs herroughly by the hair and throws her to the ground before forcing her face into the mud of the grave.

Leo is already sporting cuts and bruises, suggesting that he has already been beaten up – with sources suggesting to Metro.co.uk that Callum Highway (Tony Clay) may have been involved in a fight with him previously.

But as Leo exacts his revenge, the scenes look brutal and intense and Whitney is traumatised as she realises she has been lured into a dangerous trap.

We can’t reveal the outcome of the attack but it is just the next step in a very long running storyline arc for Whitney, who boss Jon Sen recently confirmed was being pushed to the centre of the show over the next two years.

He said at the time: ‘We talk often in the story office about Whitney and her troubled past, and her history with men, and her bad luck in relationships. Shona plays tragedy so well and Whitney is such a compelling character. She is a character you can give these really tough stories to, and she plays them with such beauty and conviction — and power. You err away from her being happy!

‘When I joined, Kate and I had a conversation where we both said “We’re fascinated by Whitney. This enigma — this character with this past that we all know about — and the fact that she can never find happiness, and where do we go?” and we agreed that we wanted to push her to the front and centre of the show in terms of investing in that character.’

He added: ‘This story becomes a chapter in a much longer arc that we have planned going forward. Without saying too much, this is just one more chapter in her story, but overtime — over the next 18 months — she learns from everything that you’re going to see, and going on into Christmas, and the 35th next year.’

EastEnders star Jake Wood has revealed that he and his wife Alison have adoped some battery hens – with one of them being named after Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan. Alison shared video footage on Twitter ofthe rescued chickens and one of them was brought back from the brink of death as they heated it with hairdryers.

Speaking to Piers on Good Morning Britain, the Max Branning star – who also presents wildly popular podcast Pound For Pound – said: ‘We’ve adopted some chickens, who are battery hen chickens.

‘They don’t have many feathers because they’ve been living inside. We had a tragedy yesterday. We lost one of the chickens. The other two are not very well, so we’ve taken them indoors.’

Using a hairdryer shaped like the face of Piers Morgan, Jake managed to save the chicken and has now honoured the presenter by naming the chicken after him. It’s enough to bring a tear to the eye!

He added: ‘They needed heating up so we used the Morgan 3000, and now they’ve both come back to life. That one is now called Piers.’

Jake and Alison have been sharing their work saving the battery hens and giving them a better life via heartwarming social media videos.

The star also teased what’s in store for the show’s 35th anniversary in a recent interview with Metro.co.uk, enthusing: ‘I think what Kate has done has really upped the game and really brought us to the top — and as far as I can see it’s going to continue, the scripts we’re getting are just amazing, I know what the plans are for the 35th— they’re going to be some of the most exciting scenes we’ve ever done.

‘I’m really looking forward to it!’

The 35th anniversary episodes will take place in February – but we have an explosive Christmas to get through yet!

Sally Lindsay cringes at Corrie throwback to first ever scene – and her ‘Jennifer Aniston’ hair cut attempt

Coronation Street legend Sally Lindsay was left cringing on the This Morning sofa with an unexpected throwback to the early 2000s and her attempt at that Jennifer Aniston haircut.

Back when everyone would head to the salon and get the ‘Rachel from Friends’, Sally spoke to Holly and Phil revealing that she didn’t think she pulled it off as well as she thought she did.

In an unexpected throwback to her debut in 2001, Sally’s interview went off-kilter when she caught sight of a scene of her as Shelley Unwin arriving in the Rover’s pub for the first time.

Speaking about whether she’d return, Sally said: ‘Oh gosh. I mean, I’d never say never. I loved it! It’s brilliant – it still is brilliant…,’ but then got distracted by the clip being played.

In the video, Shelley is seen running into the arms of Duggie Ferguson (John Bowe) in the clip in the era classic of a cream-coloured leather jacket, with her streaked hair poker straight with a side-parting.

‘Oh good god! You never told me…that’s my first ever scene! That was my first ever seen with that blooming Jennifer…,’ she laughed.

‘I thought I looked like Jennifer Aniston. I didn’t!’

We thought it was a solid look, Sally!

While Sally is definitely ‘never say never’ about returning to the Corrie cobbles, she was quick to shut down that she would be heading back anytime soon.

Rumours of her return have been revealed to actually just be a 10-minute talking head for the show’s 60th anniversary documentary special.

She explained: ‘It was mad actually. It was crazy. I’ve done like a 10-minute talking head, I think it’s called Queens of the Street as a working title?

The star admits now she didn’t pull off the look like she thought (Picture: ITV)

‘So it’s basically a load of us that have left and have sort of done quite well, we talked about our memories of the street and how it set our careers up, and all that.’

‘We did this lovely little interview, didn’t think anything of it, and then next thing I know I’m going back to the Street! I said that was the first I’ve heard!’

The star is now appearing on Channel 5 thriller, Cold Call – which focuses on a victim of identity fraud and her determination to find the person behind it.

Cold Call continuer tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.

Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis has revealed her high-functioning autism diagnosis in a new video blog.

The actress — who plays Sinead O’Connor in the Channel 4 soap — took to Twitter on Monday to inform her follows that she was going to talk about her recent diagnosis in a new video.

She uploaded the clip onto YouTube — which will be the first of a new on-going video blog.

The first instalment — entitled ‘I Have High Functioning Autism. This is me’ — sees Stephanie speak about her recent diagnosis.

Explaining her reasons for wanting to make a video blog, Stephanie said in the clip: ‘I just like to reach out to people — like-minded people who can give me a bit of advice and help me, because I’m only human and I have things that I need help with too.’

‘I’ve been diagnosed with a few mental health issues. I’m not ready to talk about them all yet. I don’t know if I ever will be’

‘This is a lot for me — doing this. I can’t make decisions for myself, so I texted me mum and asked if I should do it or not. She said to sleep on it. I feel like I’ve thought about it for a while, and I feel like it really helps me.’

After informing viewers of her diagnosis, she continued: ‘I’ve guessed I just went under the radar with this, but it explains a lot to me.’

‘I think since knowing I’m more aware of what I’m doing, but I’ve struggled my whole life with it, it’s actually quite sad.’

‘My mum felt a bit gutted for me because she was like, ‘I knew that you struggled with these things, but I didn’t even think…’ I think she felt upset at the way my little head must’ve been struggling for so many years.’

In the video, the actress told her viewers that she hoped her blog would help others, and that it would also be a way that she could receive help and tips from those watching as well.

Stephanie has received acclaim for her portrayal of Sinead in Hollyoaks, and the character was recently seen starting a new relationship with Sami Maalik (Rishi Nair). However, problems ensued when Sinead didn’t turn up for her own wedding day, after it was revealed her and Sami had fallen out on holiday.

Hollyoaks continues Tuesday 19th November at 7pm on E4.

Police mistakenly pull over disabled Emmerdale actor James Moore for drink driving

Ryan in Emmerdale

Emmerdale star James Moore has called for a wider knowledge and awareness of the way disability can impact motor skills after he was mistakenly pulled over by police, suspected of drink driving. The disabled star, best known for playing Ryan Stocks in the show, suffers from ataxic cerebral palsy, which impacts his movement and speech.

He took to Twitter to share a story with his followers which saw him reported by a member of the public who saw him making his way to his car with his girlfriend. He was later pulled over by police and had to undergo a breathalyser test to confirm that he wasn’t driving under the influence of alcohol.

He said: ‘So @AtaxiaUK are running a campaign called disordered not drunk, where disabled people recount their stories of mistakenly being labelled drunk. Tonight I seem to have a new one.

‘I went for a meal with my girlfriend, and as I was walking back to my car, someone apparently unbeknownst to me, called the police. I was pulled over half an hour later and was told a concerned citizen rang claiming that I was DUI.

‘I took a breathalyser, proving I was sober – but it really makes you think- there needs to be more awareness for this because disability can affect balance and motor skills. It’s hard to tell sometimes. But maybe the easiest thing to do is ask.

‘The police were fantastic- really understanding, and they let me go on my way very quickly, but it could have easily been avoided with a simple question.’

The actor, who won the Best Newcomer Prize at the National Television Awards, was flooded with supportive messages and, in response, he admitted that he is just waiting for the situation to happen again.

He said: ‘However, now I can’t help wonder when it will happen again. Because it’s happened before, and it’s just slightly disheartening to be under more scrutiny than an able bodied person because of my walking.’

Sarah Sugden in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) finds herself in a dangerous situation during an hour long episode of Emmerdale tonight – as she attends a party with her boyfriend Danny (Louis Healey), who gives her a pill, which she then takes.

With things tense at home following the split of Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), Sarah has been spending more and more time with Danny and enjoying getting close to him. But his peer pressure on her steps up a gear tonight.

Noah (Jack Downham) is already suspicious of Sarah sneaking off and finds that she has gone to the party. He sees Danny and his mate Jayden with her and when she is offered a pill, she doesn’t want to feel shown up in front of Danny and so takes it.

Sarah’s health is already vulnerable due to a serious heart condition and Noah is stunned to see what she has done – but what impact will it have and will she take a turn for the worse? With Noah worried about what she is getting herself into, he has to decide whether to involve Charity in it.

But if Charity wades in and angrily confronts Sarah, will the teenager just dig her heels in and opt to defy her even more? She is clearly extremely taken with Danny but just how dangerous is he – and is this just the beginning of a dark path for the impressionable youngster?

With Debbie (Charley Webb) still away, Sarah’s care falls to Charity but with everything happening recently with Vanessa, Moses and her fallouts with Cain and Chas, her mind is not properly focused on what Sarah is hiding.

When she does discover the truth, will it be too little too late?

Emmerdale continues on Tuesday 19 November at 7pm on ITV.

(Picture: Lime Pictures)

These are the emotionally charged Hollyoaks scenes tonight which see Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) make the decision to take a step away from the village. His life was very nearly destroyed recently after he was groomed by a far right gang.

After realising the depravity of their racism, he found himself trapped in their world and it was only when he narrowly avoided death at the hands of Stuart Sumner and Jonny Baxter that he was able to find some closure. However, he has a great deal of healing still to do.

He has been growing close to Azim over the last couple of weeks as it was Azim who helped Ste see the light and start to step away from the twisted values of Stuart’s group. However, Sami is concerned that Ste is not ready to commence a relationship so soon after all of the damage that has been done to him and byhim to others.

(Picture: Lime Pictures)

He has a frank chat with him tonight and Ste comes to a decision and says his goodbyes – but fear not, this is not the last we will see of the character as Kieron has confirmed that he will be back in time for the show’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

He said: ‘After nearly 14 years, it is time for Ste to hang up his tracksuits, just for a little bit. It makes sense for the story because Ste has got to go and find himself, sort himself out and find forgiveness in himself for the stuff that he’s done.’

Ste is emotional as he leaves Hollyoaks
(Picture: Lime Pictures)

‘It just timed quite right that I was going to take a break from being so busy for the past 14 years. However now I am just as busy because I am taking part in a play which is called Band of Gold by Kay Mellor and it’s going on tour from November until March next year which is very super exciting.

‘We are going in to 2020 at the end of the tour, and we are also going in to the 25th anniversary of Hollyoaks which is something I am adamant I am going to be a part of. I love the Hollyoaks fans, I love the entire cast, everybody at Hollyoaks, and I can’t wait to get back.’

Hollyoaks airs Ste’s exit scenes on Tuesday 19 November at 7pm on E4.

EastEnders spoilers: Ben Mitchell has a decision to make after a proposition from Callum Highway

Ben and Callum in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) has had something of a wake up call – not to mention a throbbing cheek – after a showdown with his disgusted mum Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) over his recent behaviour in EastEnders. And with his relationship with Callum Highway (Tony Clay) on shaky ground, he has some decisions to make.

As Ben always does when he feels he is getting too happy, he plays the hard man and pushes those close to him away – and he left Callum feeling mucked about when he dismissed his ambition to join the police force. Refusing to be pushed around, Callum walked out and Ben got steadily more drunk during a family meal.

When Kathy overheard Ben ordering Martin Fowler (James Bye) to take on a stolen cars job, or else, she was horrified at him for blackmailing a family member. Ben was disparaging and turned on Kathy, telling her that she was weak and was to blame for the abuse she had endured in her life.

Kathy told Ben that she was ashamed of him and slapped him hard – and relations tonight are still pretty tense as Ben has a go at his mum. Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) overhears and is concerned so he mentions it to Callum, who is equally worried.

Meanwhile, Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) tries to lift Ben’s spirits by involving him in an invite to a family weekend away and he starts to feel his spirits lift once more. It’s at this point that Callum approaches Ben with a proposition – but will the couple repair the rift that has started to form between them?

It remains to be seen what Callum suggests – and how Ben reacts – but it’s clear that Ben is going to have to start prioritising what’s most important to him and make some decisions.

EastEnders continues on Tuesday 19 November at 7:30pm on BBC One.

Emmerdale spoilers: Danger for Sarah Sugden as Danny grooms her?

Sarah Sugden and Danny in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) has been spending a lot of her time in the company of the mysterious Danny (Louis Healy). The young man showed up in Emmerdale several months back, and has only appeared a handful of times on our screens, but it’s clear that Sarah is developing feelings for him. However, his penchant for remaining out of sight —coupled with his unacceptable behaviour in tonight’s episode — seems to imply that there’s much more to him than meets the eye.

It’s been something of a tough year for Sarah, as she’s had to come to terms with her serious heart condition. In addition to this, Debbie (Charley Webb) headed off to Scotland to undertake a new business venture when she discovered that Lisa (Jane Cox) had left her a garage in her will.

Since her mum’s departure, Sarah has been living with Charity (Emma Atkins) and Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick), but following their split, things have been incredibly tense at her home, and viewers have seen Sarah continually sneak off to meet up with Danny — against Charity’s wishes, of course.

Danny in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Last week, it became apparent that the two teenagers were in something of a relationship, as Danny kissed her.

However, it would appear as if there’s a lot more going on here than just a simple friendship — something which will seemingly come to light tonight, as Sarah attends a party with Danny and his mate Jayden.

Noah’s already become somewhat suspicious of Sarah’s evasive behaviour, and he’s in her presence tonight at the party, as tensions escalate. Yes, things take a turn for the worse when Danny and Jayden give Sarah a pill and — feeling the pressure — she takes it and swallows it — leaving Noah horrified.

Up until now it’s been rather hard to gauge whether Danny was simply Sarah’s friend, or if he had sinister motives — something which can be attributed to the brilliant pacing of this storyline — but if the young man’s putting pressure on her to take drugs, it’s pretty clear that his intentions are anything but honourable.

Could Danny perhaps be grooming Sarah?

It’s a huge possibility — one that seems all the more likely given the fact that he supplies her with drugs. What’s more, his actions — not to mention his sinister behaviour, and penchant for remaining out of sight — certainly seem to suggest he’s got plans beyond befriending her.

If this does prove to be the case, then the other big question is: will she be rescued before it’s too late?

Noah’s seemingly present at the party tonight as Sarah swallows the pill, so it’s possible that he could do something about it. Perhaps he’ll relay this information back to his mum Charity — who’s voiced her concerns about Danny’s intentions before — and thus she could come to the rescue?

Either way, Danny’s got a much darker side to him than we initially thought, and Sarah could be in for a lot of trouble as a result.

Chantelle and Gray Atkins in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer) was terrified when husband Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith) discover the truth about her miscarriage in EastEnders, but with Gray attempting to get his anger under control, he managed to refrain from kicking off. However, more problems ensued in tonight’s episode when Chantelle discovered the full truth about the attack Gray carried out in a club several weeks back — and there was conflict aplenty.

After reconciling in last night’s episode, Gray suggested that both he and Chantelle could try for another baby. However, Chantelle’s expression demonstrated that she’s not ready to do so — something which she discussed with Whitney (Shona McGarty) tonight. After realising there’s no rush, Chantelle came to the realisation that what she really needs is a girl’s night out.

With a plan set in motion, she set about getting on with her day, but when she bumped into Jack (Scott Maslen), she enquired about the fight in which Gray was involved in. While doing so, she learned the full truth — Gray had not only broken the other guy’s nose, but he’d also knocked his teeth out.

(Picture: BBC)

Horrified, Chantelle wasted little time in confronting her husband, but Gray didn’t take too nicely to the fact that she’d been asking questions, and thus he grabbed hold of his wife and violently shook her — something which prompted her to reveal that she’s scared of him.

Gray stopped what he was doing and promised he’d continue with the therapy. He invited Chantelle to his next session that very day and she ultimately attended with him.

During the session, Gray became rather emotional, and it appeared as if he was about to admit the truth when the therapist enquired if his outbursts ever manifested themselves physically, but in the end, the only violence he admitted to was the incident in the club.

Chantelle was once again let down by her husband, and she proceeded to tell him that they won’t be trying for another baby until he sorts himself out.

Afterwards, she got all dressed up for her big night out and refused to let Gray put her in her place — telling him that she’s going out and that she has a key to let herself in. In other words: he needn’t wait up.

As she walked down the steps outside her home and onto the Square, she couldn’t help but smile — a newfound confidence apparent in her.

Meanwhile, Gray peered at her from the window — clearly frustrated by what’s transpired.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Gray in his short time on the Square thus far, it’s that he doesn’t like being argued with — or excluded, for that matter — and Chantelle’s refusal to allow him to boss her about will no doubt result in him getting angry.

The question is: will he continue to seek help, or will he take his anger out on Chantelle once more?

EastEnders continues Thursday 21st November at 7:30pm on BBC One.

Maya Stepney in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Emmerdale has revealed that paedophile Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) is pregnant and it could be the baby of her victim Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) as she is released from prison. She served half her sentence and Jacob remains as adamant as ever that he is going to be with her.

David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) followed Jacob after he headed to try and meet Maya from prison and he thought that he had got through to him – but Jacob decided that he was still in love with Maya and kept trying to contact her.

As Maya left the prison after her incarceration, she deleted Jacob’s number but was sporting a pregnant stomach – meaning Jacob has a bombshell on the way that will complicate everything.

Will the pair reunite? And how will David react?

It’s a twist that was held back from fans and it seems like more chapters of the long running storyline – which won the soap several Inside Soap Awards – are set to play out over coming months. It has not been established whether Louisa is making a full term return to the show.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk recently, she wasn’t ruling it out and added that there could be more to explore but Emmerdale played down rumours and plans of a return – although that may have been to preserve the storyline development, which they wanted to be a surprise to viewers.

With Jacob still hung up on Maya, things will also develop between him and teenager Leanna and, when they get close and sleep together, Liam Cavanagh will lash out at Jacob and end up arrested.

But is Jacob genuinely in love with Leanna or is he using her as a smokescreen as he determines to wait out for a full reunion with Maya?

Either way, the baby shock is set to change his life forever.

Emmerdale fans shocked as Maya Stepney is pregnant – with Jacob Gallagher’s baby?

Maya Stepney in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) was left horrified in Emmerdale last night when he learned that sex abuser Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) was due to be released from prison. After informing Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), the two became incredibly worried about how Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant) — who’d finally started to move on — would take the news.

After deliberating over what to do for the best, both David and Leyla took it upon themselves to inform Jacob about Maya’s release.

After learning the news, Jacob seemed oddly composed about the whole thing. In fact, he brushed it off, and claimed he was going to go out to the cinema with Leanna (Mimi Slinger).

David and Leyla were chuffed that Jacob was moving on with his life, but as Jacob headed off, it became rather apparent that he had other things on his mind.

Later, Jacob the young man disappeared, as he attempted to track down Maya. While he ultimately failed in doing so, he did attempt to ring her and — as he did so —viewers saw Maya being released from prison.

Seemingly ready for a fresh start, she deleted Jacob’s number from her phone and headed off — but as she did so, it was revealed that she’s pregnant.

Taking to Twitter, fans were quick to demonstrate their shock at the revelation:

The twist was held back, and as of yet there’s no word on whether or not Louisa Clein will be returning — although she did take to Twitter to discuss the tonight’s twist.

Will Jacob will find out about the baby?

Will David, for that matter?

Emmerdale continues Wednesday 20th November at 7pm on ITV.

Louisa Clein as Maya and Joe Warren-Plant as Jacob in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Jaws across the country dropped tonight as Emmerdale slotted in a surprise twist for returning villain Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein). The sex offender, who groomed teenager Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) into a relationship, was released after serving a portion of her sentence.

Sporting a heavily pregnant belly, she deleted Jacob’s number but Jacob refuses to give up getting in touch with her as he remains in love with her. He wants them to have a future together but it remains to be seen where the story goes from here.

Viewers have been reacting with shock as Emmerdale had played down suggestions that Maya would reappear in the show. It is unconfirmed whether Maya will come back to the show full time but it seems inevitable that the storyline will he revisited now that this extra baggage has been piled on.

Having sat on the secret herself and been forced to remain coy in interviews about whether she could ever come back, Louisa broke her silence on Twitter, asking followers if they saw that coming.

Apart from one or two who insisted that they guessed (sure, Jan), many responded with genuine surprise, with some claiming it the ‘twist of the year’.

Of course, it means turmoil ahead for Jacob and his dad David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) as they must eventually find out the truth about Maya’s baby. But will Jacob and Maya reunite – or will she decide against risking contacting him as it would mean going back inside and giving birth in prison?

In the episode, David promised to report Maya if Jacob succeeded in making contact with her – to which he hit back that he would hate him forever.

Emmerdale currently remain tight lipped over where the storyline goes from here but it looks like things are going to be very complicated in 2020.

Holby City review with spoilers: Tragic baby death for Lofty and Dominic

Dominic and Donna in Holby City
Dominic’s heartbroken too (Picture: BBC)

There was heartbreak for Helen (Verity Marshall), Lofty (Lee Mead) and Dominic (David Ames) in tonight’s Holby City. Helen arrived at the hospital with a proposition for Lofty. She wanted them to live together ‘like a real couple’ and bring up the baby together. ‘Dom is not part of the equation,’ she insisted, adding that she was in love with Lofty – but of course we’d guessed that.

Dominic has been mainly very sensible, calm and mature about Lofty’s impending fatherhood and his attitude was that Lofty needed to sort out for himself what he really wanted. Lofty told Helen he definitely wanted Dominic in the baby’s life and very beautifully said the baby would get ‘three doses of unconditional love instead of two.’ Events overtook them, though, when Helen said she hadn’t felt the baby move for over a day.

Lofty brought Helen into AAU where she was examined by Serena (Catherine Russell) and the glorious Fleur Fanshawe (Debbie Chazen) – who made the sad announcement that the baby had died. In very emotional scenes Helen had to deliver her baby, with Lofty by her side. Dom was consoled by Ange (Dawn Steele), who understood that he felt the loss of the little boy too.

Dominic also talked to Donna (Jaye Jacobs) who told him about her own little baby boy who was miscarried at 22 weeks. ‘He looked at me and I looked at him and in that second we knew we had each other,’ she said in a touching scene that brought tears to my eyes. ‘I was just looking forward to meeting our little boy,’ Dominic said, sadly.

Jac (Rosie Marcel), meanwhile, was facing a mortality and morbidity review about the operation on Sandra last week. Elliot (Paul Bradley) tried to rally support for her with Kian (Ramin Karimloo), and he also asked Fletch (Alex Walkinshaw). Fletch said he would support Jac if Elliot could say ‘hand on heart’ that Jac was her usual self, but of course she isn’t. ‘She’s hanging on by her fingernails and she’s the only one who can’t see it,’ was Fletch’s assessment.

Elliot and The Boss (Picture: BBC)

Jac has some good friends at Holby and none better than Sacha (Bob Barrett), who gave her a reassuring pep talk before the meeting. ‘If you need a friendly face – look my way,’ he told her. Despite all this support it was a tough meeting and Max McGerry (Jo Martin) went in hard on Jac. Afterwards Nicky (Belinda Owusu) told Elliot that most of what Jac had said were her own recollections during the meeting were actually taken verbatim from Nicky’s notes which she’d left lying around.

Jac denied this and also denied to Elliot that she was stressed. ‘You think I’m stressed?’ she said, sounding stressed. ‘Stress is working every day until you give birth. It’s finding a babysitter at 10 o’clock at night when an emergency comes in. It’s being a mother and a father and having nothing left for yourself. This isn’t stress.’ But Elliot had noticed that Jac had been shaking during the meeting.

Fleur in Holby City
We love Fleur! (Picture: BBC)

Elliot has been hiding his heart problem from Jac, not wanting to add to her problems, but she’d noticed that he and Kian keep having furtive little discussions. Elliot finally told her what his problem was and she said – as he knew she would – that she was the best person to fix it. It’s a very high-risk procedure and Elliot doesn’t want it to be on Jac’s head if something goes wrong – but she wants to prove herself by fixing him.

If she does, it’ll be under even more pressure than usual because Max has placed Darwin under special review. Max also had time for a spot of brain surgery, when Kian’s girlfriend Bea (Rosalind Halstead) returned to Darwin with a nasty infection that spread to her brain. ‘I’m a bit good at this, you know,’ Max told him.

Zav and Donna in Holby City
Zav worries about his sore ankle (Picture: BBC)

Xavier (Marcus Griffiths) fell over a bucket and hurt his ankle, but this wasn’t his main worry of the day. Operating on a young woman who’d become ill after having liposuction, he realised she was one of Donna’s Botox patients. Though the Botox he’d been prescribing for Donna to give her hadn’t been anything to do with her ending up in hospital, the ethics of pushing cosmetic procedures to people who really didn’t need them began to bother him.

Donna thought he was mainly worried about how it would look to Max and said she couldn’t afford to stop doing the Botox because it was vital income for her family. Zav reassured her that the reason he wants his career to go well is for her and the girls – and to prove his point he even turned down a drink at Albie’s with the new CEO to go out with Donna. The fact that his ankle had totally seized up by then may also have had something to do with it.

Emmerdale spoilers: No return planned for Maya Stepney amid pregnancy twist

Louisa Clein as Maya Stepney in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) was released from prison in Emmerdale tonight and she was sporting a pregnancy – leading to speculation that she could be carrying the baby of either David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) or Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren Plant).

However, despite this major bombshell, it seems like it’s up in the air whether Emmerdale will revisit the storyline. An Emmerdale spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘There are no current plans for Maya to return.’

It seems like one of those storyline seeds that has been planted for a potential future storyline – but, as for now, it seems to be being rested. The paternity of the baby has not been confirmed.

Viewers have been shocked to learn that Maya is carrying a baby and Jacob is still desperately in love with the woman who groomed him. Having emerged from prison and knowing further contact could land her back in a cell, Maya deleted Jacob’s number. But that’s not to say that she won’t ever return.

David managed to persuade Jacob off of the bus to go and meet with Maya but even thought Jacob returned home, he made it clear that he was not ready to give up on Maya. Sending her texts and voicemails, he has pinned his hopes on a reunion so it’s clear that the impact of Maya’s grooming still haunt him.

He is in a relationship with Leanna and this will develop over coming weeks as they end up sleeping together – leading to Liam lashing out and making accusations against Jacob.

But is he truly over Maya? And will she ever be back to introduce a baby to either David or Jacob? It seems safe to assume that Emmerdale haven’t just planted this bombshell for no apparent consequence.

But for now, Louisa is not filming with the show.

Cain and Moira split in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) was left devastated in Emmerdale when he discovered that wife Moira (Natalie J Robb) had been having a steamy affair with farmhand Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) — and matters were made worse when he discovered that Nate was actually his son. Moira’s attempted to make amends, but Cain’s having none of it and, in the coming episodes, he makes his wife suffer all the more.

After Faith (Sally Dexter) began meddling in Moira’s affairs — quite literally, in this instance — she discovered that her daughter-in-law had been sleeping with someone. Although she believed it to be Pete (Anthony Quinlan), Cain discovered that Nate was the other bloke, and thus he set about getting revenge on both Nate and Moira.

During his revenge plan — which quickly spiralled out of control — Cain discovered that Nate was his son, and that Faith knew of his existence and had kept it from them.

Since this discovery, Cain has distanced himself from Moira — and even slept with Kerry (Laura Norton) to hurt his wife. Regardless, Moira has attempted to save her marriage by any means necessary — and she’s determined to continue seeing the kids.

However, Cain’s so angry that he’s attempted to prevent Moira from seeing the children, and it’s this attitude that proves problematic in the upcoming episodes, as Kyle asks Moira — who’s noticeably upset — if she can come to his birthday party, but Cain has other plans.

It’s likely that he’ll pull out all the stops to prevent her from attending, which is a shame because it’s Kyle that’s missing out.

Perhaps Cain will come to recognise this?

Or perhaps he will continue to punish Moira for the foreseeable?

Knowing Cain Dingle, the second option is much more likely.

Sid Sumner in Hollyoaks
(Picture: Lime Pictures)

It’s been an incredibly tough year for Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) in Hollyoaks, what with her losing her beloved twins, all over again — not to mention keeping Maxine Kinsella’s (Nikki Sanderson) secret, something which almost resulted in the breakdown of her and Brody Hudson’s (Adam Woodward) relationship — but could she be in more danger from Stuart Sumner’s (Chris Simmons) son, Sid (Billy Price) in the coming episodes?

Sid’s had a rough couple of weeks, and after being instrumental in his dad’s demise, it’s no surprise that he’s finding things a bit difficult. In the coming episodes, the young lad turns up at school, and informs Juliet (Niamh Blackshaw) about the fact that he’s been sleeping rough.

Juliet empathises with Sid — and refuses to judge him on the action of his parents — and thus she decides to tell Sienna about the young man’s living arrangements.

After Juliet’s revelation, Sienna takes it upon herself to meet with Stuart’s wife Alice in regards to Sid’s predicament, but Alice isn’t convinced she’s strong enough to be a parent to Sid — that is, until Sienna manages to talk her round.

However, there could be trouble ahead, as both Brody and Liberty (Jessamy Stoddart) make a rather unsettling discovery about Sid — at exactly the same time that Sienna returns to her flat with Alice in tow.

What exactly is that Brody and Liberty have discovered?

What’s more, is Sienna — and her family — in danger as a result?
