Liam Cavanagh and Jacob Gallagher in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Jacob Gallagher’s (Joe-Warren Plant) behaviour has been getting out of hand in Emmerdale since he learned that sex abuser Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) had been released from prison, but he reached a new low last night when he slept with Leanna (Mimi Slinger) and then proceeded to walk out on her. Tonight, Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) discovered the truth — and he was less than pleased.

Leanna was devastated when Jacob walked out on her after they’d slept together. Afterwards, the young man texted her asking if she was on the pill — and she was hurt once more by his blunt question.

Feeling rejected, she opened up to Bernice (Samantha Giles) about what happened, confirming that she’d slept with Jacob. However, she asked Bernice to keep it a secret.

Bernice was conflicted over what to do for the best, but when Leanna threw up in front of Liam after she took the morning after pill, she was left with no choice but to reveal everything.

Liam was fuming, and — after berating Bernice for keeping this from him — he wasted little time in storming round to the shop to have it out with Jacob. He accused Jacob of forcing his daughter into sleeping with him, before punching him.

Upon learning of the reason why Liam attacked Jacob, David (Matthew Wolfenden) and Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) were disgusted with the young boy — and proceeded to tell him as much.

However, it appeared as if Jacob was determined to get his own back, as Liam found himself being arrested on suspicion of assault as the episode came to a close.

What does this mean for Liam?

Will Jacob carry through with his accusation?

Emmerdale continues Friday 22ndNovember at 7pm on ITV.

Andrew Whyment is entering I’m A Celebrity after all (Picture: ITV)

Coronation Street’s Andrew Whyment left viewers confused after I’m A Celebrity 2019 launched last week without the star entering the jungle as the leaked line-up had initially promised.

However, the line-up mystery was solved last night after it was revealed that Andrew would indeed be joining the likes of Caitlyn Jenner, Nadine Coyle, Roman Kemp and Jacqueline Jossa in the Australian jungle camp – along with another new campmate, EastEnders’ Cliff Parisi.

Andy and Chris will make their Bushtucker Trial debut tonight on the show, with a hunt for stars among guts and worms proving to be a far cry from The Cobbles or Albert Square.

Who does Andrew Whyment play in Coronation Street?

Andrew Whyment plays Kirk Sutherland in Coronation Street, the older brother of Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) and Beth Tinker’s (Lisa George) husband.

Andrew joined the soap back in 2000 and has been a regular on the ITV show ever since.

Kirk has had a number of roles and jobs around Weatherfield, having worked at Sutherland’s Kennels for a time before landing a job at the butchers and then going on to become Buzzer the Bee mascot for Weatherfield County FC.

Is Andrew Whyment leaving Coronation Street?

In Corrie back in May, Kirk rediscovered his passion for music after performing at Bertie’s Christening and decided he wanted to pursue his dream of singing professionally.

Leaving The Cobbles in the back of a taxi, Kirk hoped to travel the country with his guitar and maybe even audition for The X Factor.

We now know that Kirk left Corrie because Andrew was planning on joining the I’m A Celebrity line-up.

Whether Kirk makes a success of his singing career remains to be seen but either way we do know that Kirk hasn’t left the soap for good and is set to return to Corrie at a later date.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.

Mackenzie and Bella

Home and Away fans will know that the beloved Australian soap is soon to go off air for six weeks over the Christmas break, but Australian viewers will be seeing a huge season finale air in the next week – and the trailer for it has just dropped.

In it, viewers see Northern Districts Hospital under siege from a group of mystery men, and they’re not afraid to get violent, as scenes show Colby appear with the other cops just in time to hear a gunshot fired.

We’re hit with the bombshell that Summer Bay residents will say goodbye to two friends – will this be due to the hospital lockdown? As many fan favourites are inside the hospital when the siege happens, it’s anyone’s guess who pays the price.

At the start of the trailer, we see Jasmine tell Robbo that she wants a baby. She’s also in the hospital later on – and we see Marilyn call out her name in horror. Is the nurse left fighting for her life, and if so, how will Robbo cope with losing family for a second time?

Jasmine faces more danger (Picture: Seven)

Bella is seen sobbing after taking some mysterious pills which lead to her doubling up in agony outside the Surf Club. Is she about to suffer at the hands of one of the strangers, with Colby losing the sister he fought to find and protect for so long?

Mason is held up against the wall of the hospital by one of the criminals after trying to intervene. With Tori gone for so long in the safe house, and Australian spoilers revealing more trouble lies ahead for the new mum, are the Morgans about to lose another sibling?

Dean points out that ‘everyone we care about is in there’, and we see his sister Mackenzie trying to hide inside the building. Later on, a panicked Ziggy asks where he’s gone. Has he gone inside to try and find Mac, only to get caught in the crossfire?

Marilyn hospital Home and Away
Marilyn is caught up at the hospital, with a distraught John outside (Picture: Seven)

Several other questions are left unanswered. Why have the criminals arrived in the first place? Is it connected to Robbo’s criminal gang storyline, which saw him take on the Ouroboros gang and spend several months with heavy AFP protection?

Finally, the devastating closing scene sees a huge car crash, with a vehicle rolling over several times in the road. Who is inside, and will they survive?

Australian fans will see these scenes as part of a triple episode airing next week. UK fans will have to wait until March 2020.

Given the annual disasters — not to mention the recent attempted murder — which take place in Hollyoaks, we’re not sure why anyone would want to move into the village but nonetheless a brand new couple are on their way to Chester. Toby and Celeste Faroe (Bobby Gordon and Andrea Ali) arrive in the coming episodes, and they’re set to make quite the impression on several of the soap’s mainstays.

The sophisticated couple have done incredibly well for themselves, as Toby is a music producer, while Celeste runs her own modelling agency. They arrive in the village and waste little time in moving into the flat that Mitchell (Imran Adams) and Cleo (Nadine Mulkerrin) only recently took up residence in.

Upon their arrival, they quickly make friends — many of whom are in awe of the pair’s sophistication and glamour. Next door neighbours Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) and Mandy (Sarah Jayne Dunn) get along with the newcomers very well, and Jesse (Luke Jerdy) is delighted when Toby offers to promote his salon.

‘Since joining, the crew and cast have been incredible and I still can’t believe all of the exciting things they have planned for me in the future.’

Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) has always been protective of his family in Emmerdale, and with Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) now in a relationship with Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) he’s not sure what to make. However, after Kim Tate’s (Claire King) meddling, Marlon makes a discovery about Graham — and see’s red as a result!

Determined to get revenge, Kim wastes little time in attempting to sabotage Graham’s relationship with Rhona — and thus she speaks to Marlon, and implies that Graham really shouldn’t be allowed around Leo.

However, Rhona overhears everything — and she’s less than pleased that Marlon was listening to Kim’s words. Afterwards, Marlon decides to ease up on Graham.

Meanwhile, Rhona confronts Kim over her attempt to poison Marlon against Graham, but Kim remains unfazed, and suggests that Marlon will come to his senses soon enough — something which leaves Rhona’s interests piqued.

However, Graham reassures her that she’s got nothing to worry about, but his expression speaks volumes, as he ponders all the ways that Kim could cause damage.

The following day, Kim sends Graham a text asking for all of her employees to meet her at the Woolpack, as she’s planning on making an announcement. However, upon his arrival, Graham works out just what it is that Kim’s planning.

Yes, Kim makes a shocking revelation about Graham — and Rhona is reeling as a result.

Later, Graham heads over to speak to Rhona, but he’s not given much opportunity to do so, as Marlon intervenes and punches him as a result!

The question is: what drives Marlon to such violence?

(Picture: BBC)

The Panesar clan arrived in EastEnders several weeks back, and — upon their arrival — they were determined to track down their sister, Ash (Guraline Kaur Garcha). However, Jags (Amar Adatia) soon found himself distracted from his mission when he set his sights upon Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) in a scene which implied that he recognised the young woman.

A conversation with Kheerat (Jaz Deol) later clarified matters for the viewers, as it was revealed that Jags had previously went to school with Chantelle — and that he’d once went out on a date with her.

In the coming episodes, Jags decides it’s time that he speak to Chantelle, and thus he approaches her and strikes up a conversation.

It doesn’t take long for Chantelle to remember who he is, and they begin to fondly reminisce about old times.

Later in the week, Chantelle bumps into Jags once more — only this time he’s with Kheerat, and she’s with Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith). Of course, Gray wastes little time in making his presence known.

With Gray having demonstrated how controlling he is in the past; he’ll no doubt feel threatened by having one of Chantelle’s exes living on the Square.

As a result, could he set about doing something about it?

Is Jags in danger from the solicitor?

If his past behaviour is anything to go by, then it’s certainly a possibility.

Mind you, the Panesar clan have proven that you don’t want to mess with them, so perhaps Gray could’ve met his match?

With both Michelle and Robert set to exit Coronation Street in dramatic fashion at the end of the year, the stakes have never been higher and fans are keen to see Robert pay the price for his betrayals. It was always bound to come back and bite him but right now, he is oblivious to the fact that Michelle is plotting payback – and that’s how she wants it to stay for now.

As Ray tells Michelle that he is dropping his case against her, he follows it up with a dangerous threat – she had better watch her back. With this on her mind, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) advises her to ditch her plan to take the bistro from Robert but she isn’t prepared to let Robert get away with what he has done.

When Robert lets slip that Vicky knows about her ordeal with losing Ruari, Michelle is disgusted and furious and this only serves to convince her further that she wants Robert to suffer. As Robert suggests to Michelle that they gather their loved ones together to talk about the upcoming wedding, Michelle paints on a false smile and agrees.

With Robert having bought her a necklace, Michelle tells Carla (Alison King) that if he thinks he can buy her affections, he can think again. With her revenge very much still on the agenda, she plans to take him for every penny.

Recently, the stars filmed wedding scenes and this seems to be a likely venue for Robert to be exposed.

But with rumours that things will get even darker and Robert will be killed in a Christmas siege, is he about to pay an even bigger price than Michelle planned?

Ben helps Callum in EastEnders

Oooft, talk about getting masterful and dominating Callum, our brows are sweating. No, we kid, believe it or not, this isn’t the Walford couple experimenting but actually Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) showing his support for Callum Highway (Tony Clay) by helping him train for his police assessments in EastEnders.

Callum has made his ambition to join the police force clear and viewers recently breathed a sigh of relief when Ben decided to go legit and support the man he loved in his chosen career. Last night saw Ben and Callumembrace as Ben pledged to turn his back on his life of crime and now he is set to do what he can to help Callum join the beat.

Ahead of Callum’s first tests to join the force, Ben play acts as someone Callum needs to apprehend – and comes at him with a banana (behave) which is meant to represent a gun. It’s Callum’s job to tackle Ben and disarm him.

Callum arrests Ben in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

While we never thought we’d see Ben fighting for the right side of the law after his recent actions, but he steps in to help Callum practise his much needed moves to pass the first stages of the assessment.

As the couple get a bit rough and ready, Callum seems to appreciate Ben’s support and dedication to helping him reach his goal. But judging by the faces on the lads here, it looks like they might have been caught in the act and have some explaining to do.

We must say, Ben makes a very believable perp – it’s almost like he’s been arrested before.

Ben’s decision to turn his back on crime is surely a relief to Martin Fowler (James Bye) too but any joy will be short lived as tonight, Martin gets the shock of his life when bad news reaches him about Stacey (Lacey Turner).

Ben and Callum’s training session airs on Thursday 5 December at 7:30pm on BBC One.

Max Branning in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

Max Branning (Jake Wood) and Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) have only been dating a couple of months in EastEnders, but Max is determined to hold on to his girlfriend, and thus he resolves to take their relationship to the next level by popping the big question — a task he undertakes during tonight’s episode.

Max has experienced a lot of heartache over the past couple of years — and this year has been one of his toughest yet, as he found himself going head-to-head with Rainie (Tanya Franks) over custody of baby Abi. Amid all of the devastation, however, he’s managed to find a little bit of happiness in his relationship with Ruby.

Speaking about Max’s journey over the last couple of months, actor Jake Wood told Metro.co.uk: ‘I think this last year — year and a half — has been about Max finding his feet really after everything he’s been through. You know, trying to get custody of Abi.’

‘I think at the minute it feels like Max is getting settled and getting his feet on the ground, and getting back into normal life, if you like.’

Max Branning and Ruby Allen in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

Last night, viewers saw Max become embarrassed when a punter in E20 attempted to buy Ruby a drink, as he’d assumed that Max was simply Ruby’s dad.

The conversation got Max thinking, and — after making light of the situation — Jack (Scott Maslen) suggested that Max needs to up his game if he wants to keep Ruby.

Tonight, he takes it upon himself to pop the question, but how exactly does he come to this conclusion?

Jake told us: ‘He thinks that the right thing to do is to propose. He’s not exactly sure what Ruby wants, but I’m not exactly sure he knows what he wants. I think he just wants to make a commitment to her.’

‘He does it in the restaurant — in Walford East — and he enlists Bobby Beale to help him to make it spectacular and special’.

Yes, determined to prove he’s serious about Ruby, he asks Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) for help. However, Ian (Adam Woodyatt) eavesdrops on the conversation and wastes little time in winding Max up over what he’s heard.

Viewers will have to wait until tonight to see what transpires — and to see what Ruby’s answer is — but with Ian set to get involved, it’s no doubt going to be unmissable!

Yes or No? Now that is the question!

EastEnders continues Friday 22nd September at 9pm on BBC One.

Coronation Street star Maureen Lipman accuses Labour and Jeremy Corbyn of ‘extremism’ in video rant

Coronation Street star Maureen Lipman has launched a blistering attack on the Labour Party and its leader Jeremy Corbyn in a bizarre video for Mainstream which recreates her TV advert character Beattie. In the video, she claims to have been a lifelong Labour party but brands the party ‘extremists, not sociliasts’ before urging viewers not to vote for the party.

Maureen, who plays battleaxe Evelyn Plummer in the soap, is in character as Beattie from the BT Adverts she used to star in and is seen on the phone speaking to Nora. She makes her feelings pretty clear about the Labour Party and goes on to make points about broadband and anti-semitism.

Despite claiming to have been a lifelong Labour supporter in the video, Maureen previously spoke out about being unable to support the party under its leader Ed Miliband too back in 2014.

In her most recent video, she says: ‘They’re not socialists, you know what they are, Nora? They’re extremists.’ She also accuses the party of ‘bullying, hectoring and driving out of good Jewish Labour MPs.’

Maureen Lipman films a video about Labour
Beattie was on the phone to Nora in order to make the scathing attack (Picture: Mainstream)

Speaking of Jeremy Corbyn directly, she said that he planned to get his ‘allotment hands on my broadband’ adding: ‘It’s taken me ten years Nora to learn how to Skype my grandchildren. I can do the shopping online, the dry goods, I can do the banking online so I don’t have to walk four miles to a bank that’s not even there and he wants to take it away and ruin it – a man who thinks you get out of Brexit with a revolving door.’

She concluded the video with the statement: ‘My mother always said, “this is a kind and a decent country. They will always do the decent thing. Well if that’s the case, why would anybody vote for this Labour Party?’

She performed the entire video in character as Beattie but explained to The Sun why she made it, commenting: ‘Like many socialists, I am at a loss. Nobody, I feel should vote for a party which is driven by Marxist theory, by bullying and exclusion, by scant fiscal knowledge and by a visceral disregard for traditions we hold most dear. How best to express that was my problem.

‘It was only when big spender Corbyn announced that he would take control of broadband that I began to wonder what Beattie, newly liberated by computer literacy, would make of handing over that freedom to a bunch of profligate people with scant regard for her centrist sensibilities.’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to spokespersons for Maureen for further comment.

Maureen’s video has attracted mixed responses online, with many attacking her scathing stance while others have retweeted the video in agreement.

She previously attracted controversy for her stance on the #MeToo movement, criticising women for wearing ‘bondage clothing’ and ‘dressing a bit like a prostitute would have dressed.’

Coronation Street spoilers: Abuser Kel Hinchley exposed tonight as Paul Foreman reveals the truth

(Picture: ITV)

Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) was abused by Kel Hinchley (Joe Alessi) when he was a teenager in Coronation Street, and — although Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) knows the truth — the rest of his family haven’t a clue. However, the truth comes to light in tonight’s episodes, when Paul finds himself with little choice but to reveal all.

Viewers will have seen cobbles residents becoming agitated over the last couple of episodes about a string of burglaries which have taken place in the surrounding area. Billy tweaked on rather quickly that the addresses of those who were burgled are listed in his diary — which has conveniently gone missing.

With Bernie (Jane Hazelgrove) having started working in the church the day his diary went missing, Billy was quick to point the finger — as did Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul when they discovered a stash of stolen goods in the cupboard under the stairs.

The pair kicked their mum out, but tonight they begin to think that they might’ve been somewhat hasty in doing so, and thus they apologise to her. After doing some deliberating, they realise that evil Kel also had access to the diary and thus they put two and two together.

As a result, Gemma and Bernie decide to break into Kel’s flat and they’re left shocked by what they find. Yes, they stumble upon not only Daniel’s (Rob Mallard) laptop — which viewers will know went missing on the day of Sinead’s (Katie McGlynn) funeral — but also a pile of old photos of Paul — and some other children too.

Bernie and Gemma return home with the laptop and photos in hand — much to Paul’s dismay.

However, he soon opens up, as he reveals that Kel sexually abused him.

Afterwards, Bernie and Gemma are stunned.

Will they confront Kel?

We know there’s going to be some big scenes coming up between Kel and Bernie, so a confrontation will ensue act some point.

Coronation Street continues Friday 22ndNovember at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.

Jacob is asked to leave in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

He has been through a lot due to the grooming and abuse from Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) but Jacob Gallagher’s (Joe-Warren Plant) recent behaviour is set to push David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfended) and Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) to take drastic action in Emmerdale tonight.

In the wake of Jacob’s aggressive behaviour and his heartless and cruel treatment of Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger), everyone is turning their backs on him including mates like Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele).

Jacob disgusted everyone, including fans, by expressing a callous attitude to sex and claiming that he didn’t want Leanna but she was asking for it. Liam (Jonny McPherson) was infuriated by the way that Jacob was talking about his daughter and snapped before punching him.

And after his actions got Liam arrested and put his job at risk, Leanna can’t bear to look at Jacob. When Jacob arrives back at the shop, David and Leyla are cold with him and an angry Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) gives him a piece of his mind, telling him he can’t keep behaving this way to people.

Jacob hits back defiantly but he doesn’t expect what is coming next when David and Leyla tell him that enough is enough – they want him out.

As the consequences of his actions hit Jacob, his stomach jolts as he realises he is being kicked out. Will this provide him with a wake up call or is he set to be out on his ear?

It was recently revealed that his abuser Maya had been released and she is pregnant – although there is no confirmation on who the father of her child is as she had sexual relationships with both David and Jacob.

Emmerdale went on to confirm that there are no current plans for Maya to return.

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Friday 22 November at 7pm on ITV.

Michelle Visage was lined up for role in EastEnders: ‘I believe I am Kat Slater’s cousin’

Michelle Visage was lined up for EastEnders role (Picture: ITV/REX)

Michelle Visage has revealed she was once asked to join EastEnders for a guest role and suddenly we’ve never wanted anything more.

The Drag Race superstar – who finally cleared up her supposed ‘feud’ with Cheryl this week – is an icon wherever she steps foot and would no doubt go down a storm with the residents of Walford.

Could Michelle be Kat Moon’s long lost American twin? Easily, and the Strictly Come Dancing star revealed her cameo was agonisingly close to happening until former showrunner Dominic Treadwell-Collins stepped down as EastEnders boss.

However, the offer is still on the table and she’s ready for her soap debut.

She told Good Housekeeping magazine that she prefers EastEnders to Coronation Street because ‘I believe I am Kat [Moon’s] American cousin.’

‘I’m still vying for that guest role,’ she teased.

Naturally, Jessie Wallace is totally on board too and tweeted: ‘I believe this too! @michellevisage.’

Michelle was eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday night after her impassioned nod to the LGBTQ+ community fell on deaf ears.

The mum-of-two vogued to Madonna as a nod to her gay brothers and sisters, but was slammed by viewers who claimed ‘voguing isn’t dancing’.

Understandably, the force of nature fired back with a heroic post.

EastEnders continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One. Strictly Come Dancing returns tomorrow at 7pm, also on BBC One.

What did Kel do to Paul in Coronation Street and is he leaving?

Kel’s a wrong ‘un, make no mistake (Picture: ITV)

Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) and Gemma Winter’s (Dolly-Rose Campbell) mum’s ex-partner Kel (Joseph Alessi) has been causing Paul no small amount of turmoil on Coronation Street after he came back on the scene and resumed his relationship with Bernie (Jane Hazelgrove).

Kel and Bernie got back together after he let her off the hook for shoplifting – a classic meet-cute.

But what Bernie didn’t know is that her ex has a very dark secret concerning her son…

What did Kel do to Paul in Coronation Street?

The vile Kel groomed Paul when he was just 14 years old.

Kel previously held such sway over Paul that he believed for years that their tryst was consensual.

But Billy (Daniel Brocklebank), knows what really happened and has been trying to help Paul see the abuse for what it really was.

In scenes tonight, Paul’s family will come to know the truth about what was done to him.

Paul has been keeping the abuse a secret but Gemma and Bernie will break into Kel’s flat when they come to suspect that Kel has been thieving.

In his house, they’ll not only find stolen items, like Daniel’s (Rob Mallard) laptop, with Sinead’s (Katie McGlynn) precious goodbye messages on it, but they’ll also stumble across old pictures of Paul along with other children.

Bernie and her daughter will come back home armed with both the laptop and the pictures.

With all that evidence, Paul will find that he can no longer hide what was done to him, and Bernie and Gemma will understandably be left shocked.

We know that Kel will hold Bernie hostage after she confronts him over his horrid secret, but Bernie isn’t one to go down without a fight, especially when the man she’ll be fighting abused her son.

We know that Kel isn’t long for the cobbles, and that the paedophile will eventually be caught by Bernie trying to meet with a child.

Will this be what finally brings the predator to justice? We’ll have to tune in to find out.

Coronation Street continues Friday 22 November at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.

Has Stacey left for good or will Lacey Turner return?

Stacey Slater, played by Lacey Turner on eastenders
Stacey is still on the run after what happened with Phil. (Picture: BBC)

Since Martin Fowler (James Bye) returned to Albert Square without Stacey (Lacey Turner), the question as to her whereabouts and if she’s ever coming back has been on everyone’s minds.

Martin was originally forced to go on the run with Stacey after she left Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) for dead, but he returned after Bex’s (Jasmine Armfield) suicide attempt to support his daughter.

Tonight in EastEnders, Martin is set to get some heartbreaking news when a visitor called Jerome comes to see him and what this visitor has to say will further throw Stacey’s return to The Square into question.

Has Stacey left for good or will Lacey Turner return?

Actress Lacey Turner has been absent from EastEnders recently because the star has been on maternity leave.

The 31-year-old welcomed a baby girl with her husband, Matt, in July and is currently enjoying adjusting to life as a mum and spending time with her daughter, who is named Dusty.

Although Lacey did briefly return from her maternity leave to film scenes for the soap which saw Stacey return to Walford in secret to see Martin, we won’t be seeing the character again this side of Christmas.

Lacey Turner is due to make a full-time return to EastEnders at some point later next year, but when and how she will return is yet to be confirmed.

Stacey’s last visit to Albert Square didn’t go down too well, as she ended up telling Martin they were over after he said he had cheated on her. Although Martin was actually lying in order to try and protect Stacey and get her to leave Walford, his false confession resulted in a heartbroken Stacey ending their marriage.

Kel attacks Paul in Coronation Street
Paul is reliving his childhood hell in Coronation Street (Picture: ITV)

Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) has taken the brave step of opening up to his family about what has happened to him in Coronation Street. Abused at the hands of his depraved stepfather Kel (Joseph Alessi) as a teenager, Paul was groomed into believing it was a loving relationship.

With Kel’s true colours well and truly exposed, Bernie Winter (Jane Hazelgrove) discovered that her partner was behind the recent burglaries and also discovered evidence including photos of his his sex crimes.

As Paul took the brave step of opening up to Bernie and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) about the abuse he had suffered, Gemma urged him to speak to the police – but while he insisted he would rather die than relive it all, Bernie was heading to the police station, evidence in hand.

But what happens next?

Kel is arrested

Following Bernie’s actions, Paul is horrified with her for going to the police without speaking to her first. And, as Kel is taken in by police for the burglaries and the allegations of abuse, he faces tough questioning.

But it might not be as easy as Bernie hoped to have him locked away.

Bernie is taken hostage

(Picture: ITV)

Kel is furious with Bernie for shopping him to the police and he turns up back at the house to confront her, in an angry and volatile state. As a showdown ensues, he locks the door and holds her hostage as she tries to fight back.

With Bernie terrified of what Kel is capable of, Paul and Bernie will rush to the rescue and save her in time. But has Kel sealed his own fate?

Paul and Billy get stronger

Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) was the first person that Paul felt able to confide in and as Paul makes the decision over what to do for the best, Billy is proud of his strength and the couple are a tower of support for one another.

With Billy being there for Paul, Paul sets about putting together a gesture to prove to Billy just how much he means to him.

Chesney and Bernie attack Kel

When it seems like Kel might evade justice for his crimes, Bernie takes matters into her own hands and heads to the place of his work and starts outing him as a padeophile. When Kel angrily has it out with her, Chesney intervenes and hits him.

But the violent altercation could have negative effects on Paul’s case against him…

Kel is trapped in a child sex sting

Determined to prove that Kel hasn’t changed, Bernie will set up a secret account as an underage teenage boy and lure Kel into a trap. While Gemma and Paul lie in wait, Bernie live films Kel as he comes to the woods to meet with the 14-year-old.

He scarpers but he leaves behind a bag containing alcohol and condoms. Combined with Bernie’s video footage, will this be enough to topple him?

Kel will exit

Sorry, this video isn't available any more.

It remains to be seen how Coronation Street plan to bring this story to a close and whether Paul will get the justice he deserves but Joseph has previously confirmed that his stay in Corrie is for the duration of the storyline only – so expect 2020 to herald Kel’s last appearance.

The actor said: ‘The character I’m playing is finite, I’ll never be a regular on Corrie that’s sure. My role will come to an end.’

EastEnders spoilers: Jake Wood teases future for Max Branning and Ruby Allen after proposal disaster

Max Branning and Ruby Allen in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

Max Branning (Jake Wood) has been determined to show girlfriend Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) just how much he’s committed to their relationship in EastEnders, and with a little help from Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell), he came to the conclusion that he should ask for her hand in marriage. However, his romantic gesture didn’t exactly go according to plan, as Ruby turned him down in front of everyone during tonight’s episode.

Yes, Max has demonstrated his concerns about the possibility of Ruby leaving him in recent months, which is why he was so determined to prove how serious he is about her. A customer in E20 mistaking him for his lover’s dad was the final straw, and after some words of advice from Jack (Scott Maslen) — not to mention a dig from Jean (Gillian Wright) — he set about making his relationship more official.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk about Max’s decision, actor Jake Wood said: ‘I think at the minute it feels like Max is getting settled and getting his feet on the ground, and getting back into normal life, if you like. So, obviously he’s aware of the age difference between them, and from my point of view I think he feels a little bit lost, so I guess he thinks that the right thing to do is to propose.’

Max Branning and Ruby Allen in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

‘He’s not exactly sure what Ruby wants, but I’m not exactly sure he knows what he wants. I think he just wants to make a commitment to her and in typical Max fashion he goes the wrong way around it.’

After deciding that popping the question was the right plan, Max went to the one person he knew would be able to help him in pulling the whole thing off. Yes, Bobby has become something of a confidante for Max — in spite of the fact that the young lad’s role in his sister’s death once resulted in Max being wrongly accused of the crime.

Yes, Max and Bobby’s relationship is one of the many interesting dynamics which have developed in the BBC One soap since Kate Oates came on board.

Speaking about the dynamic between the two characters, Jake said: ‘I think when you breakdown those characters and what they’ve been through — emotionally, what they’ve been through is pretty similar, really. And I really thought about it when they were paired together and Bobby was going to set the house alight, and Max intervened.

Max Branning and Bobby Beale in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

‘He talked him out of it because he told him he knew what he was going through, so — I think out of any of the characters around — Max is the most well-equipped to understand what Bobby’s going through, and the post-traumatic stress he might be suffering. I think Max felt something similar where’s he’s had the same loss in his life — he’s lost his son and his daughter — so we’ve seen Max at really low points, so maybe he can relate to Bobby.’

Of course the other interesting dynamic in Max’s life at the moment is his partnership with Ian (Adam Woodyatt), and once the restaurant co-owner got wind of Max’s plan to propose to his girlfriend, he set about making a spectacle out of the whole thing — so that the entire population of Walford would be present as he got down on one knee.

Speaking about the pairing, Jake mused: ‘I don’t think they’ll ever see eye to eye — I think they’re quite a good pairing, Max and Ian — but if there’s ever an opportunity to undermine the other one or embarrass the other one, they’ll always take it. But I think it’s quite funny to watch!’

Ian’s interference provided Max with a great source of conflict, but by the time he’d realised what his business partner had done, it was simply too late to back out, and thus he carried out his plan, and proposed to Ruby.

Max in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

Unfortunately, it didn’t pan out the way he’d hoped it would, as Ruby turned him down. However, in spite of Max’s feelings, Jake reckons that Ruby made the right call.

He said: ‘I think it’s the right decision from her point of view, absolutely. I mean, if Max actually sat and down and thought about it, he’d realise how stupid he’s being, or how it’s a little bit too soon, and she’s probably a little bit too young.’

‘You know Max has been there and been married so many times — to him, it’s probably not a massive deal — but for Ruby, she’s young and it probably means a lot more to her. So, it’s one of those tricky situations that comes out of the age gap, I guess.’

Yes, the age-gap has been something that Max has struggled with, as we’ve seen him do all he can to prove just how serious he is about Ruby — despite everyone belittling him for being older than her. However, it’s clear that Max wants this to work. The question is: is a future together even a possibility after the events of this episode?

It’s currently unknown what the future holds for Ruby and Max, but Jake reckons they make a good match: He said: ‘I think Max has got genuine feelings for her, and I think Ruby also does for Max — although maybe not as deeply as Max does for Ruby.’

‘I think Max is someone who — when he falls for someone — he falls all the way, doesn’t he? And Ruby is the one, at the moment. So we’ll see where it leads!’

EastEnders spoilers: Martin Fowler loses it as he discovers Stacey has a new man

Martin Fowler and Jerome in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

Martin Fowler (James Bye) was elated in EastEnders when Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) finally put an end to their dodgy business arrangement, but little did he know that his problems were about to get a whole lot worse, as he encountered a man named Jerome (Chris Charles), who was revealed to be friend of wife Stacey’s (Lacey Turner). However, there was more to this than meets the eye — and Martin was left devastated when he discovered the truth.

Yes, with Ben attempting to turn over a new leaf as a result of boyfriend Callum’s (Tony Clay) desire to become a police officer, he put an end to his business arrangement with Martin once and for all.

Viewers will know that the young lad has made the fruit-and-veg stall holder’s life a living hell over the past few months. Yes — between making him collect money, to holding him over the railway bridge — Ben has went to extreme lengths to assert his authority over Martin.

Martin, Kush, Jean and Jerome in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

With his nightmare at an end, Martin was chuffed — especially when Ben revealed that Stacey was free to return home to Walford. As a result, he wasted little time in attempting to get in touch with his wife to share the good news with her.

However, after he failed to do so, he headed round to the Slaters to get to the bottom of what was going on — and he was left devastated to discover that Jean (Gillian Wright) and Mo (Laila Morse) had packed up Stacey’s belongings.

As Martin tried to get them to spill the beans on what was happening, a mystery man named Jerome showed up, and it soon became apparent that he’s in a relationship with Stacey.

Naturally, Martin was devastated, and as he struggled to control his temper as a result, which led to Kush (Davood Gahdami) coming to his aid.

Martin and Ben in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

After Jerome had left, Martin revealed the truth to Jean, but the Slater icon was having none of it, and didn’t hold back when it came to hurling out insults at her son-in-law.

A distraught Martin proceeded to get drunk in E20 — so much so that he could barely stand. As he walked through the Square, he collapsed outside the Beale household — just as Ben happened to be exiting the property.

Shockingly, Ben voiced his concern over Martin’s apparent state, but the fruit-and-veg stall holder wasted little time in blaming him for everything that’s happened.

As a result, he lashed out and punched Ben for the 475th time, before attempting to get another right hook in for good measure — but he missed, and thus collapsed to the floor.

As Ben headed off down the Square, Martin accused him of ruining his life.

Is this the end of Stacey and Martin?

The young man’s life has been turned upside down in a matter of months, and it’s all thanks to Ben.

Will he seek revenge?
