Fans with long memories will remember that Steve (Martin Kemp), ended up crashing his own car as Phil (Steve McFadden) chased him down to get the then-baby Louise back.
Indeed, the actor was only supposed to be returning to the soap for a one-year stint, but that one year has nearly turned into two.
On the subject of her upcoming departure, Tamzin has said: ‘When John (Yorke) asked me to return to EastEnders back in 2017, I jumped at the chance to play Mel once more but it was only supposed to be for a year. That year quickly passed and I agreed to stay on for another, but now the time feels right to once again pursue other challenges.
‘I will of course miss so many people here at EastEnders, and I will forever have good memories of my time at the show, but I am also excited to experience new roles outside of Walford.’
EastEnders continues tonight at 8:30pm on BBC One.
David Platt (Jack P Sherpherd) has been going through an incredibly tough time in Coronation Street over the past couple of months, what with him currently serving time in prison, but matters became much more complicated when Josh Tucker (Ryan Clayton) ended up getting stabbed during a riot — ands David became prime suspect as a result. However, he attempted to get himself off the hook tonight — that is, until Abe and Tez issued him with a terrifying threat
David was left horrified several weeks back when he learned that rapist Josh was serving time in the very same prison. Upon learning what Josh had done to David, Abe told him to think of this as an opportunity to get revenge — before informing him of the impending riot. However, during said riot, David was ultimately unable to murder Josh, as he knew what such an act would do to his family.
However, during the riot, the rapist ended up getting stabbed — and David became prime suspect in the police investigation into the incident. Matters were complicated further when Josh woke up, and informed the police their suspicions were correct — that David was the one who stabbed him.
Facing an attempted murder charge, David is aware that he could go down for a very long time, and thus — during tonight’s episode — Shona (Julia Goulding) told him that he needs to inform the governors about what really happened. In other words, he needs to reveal that Abe and Tez orchestrated the whole thing.
David thought about what to do for the best, but before he could make a decision, Abe and Tez cornered him and threatened to hurt not only Shona, but also Max and Lily if he were to open his mouth.
As Shona awaited news, David rang her to confirm that he won’t be doing as she asked, as it would put his entire family in danger — and that’s a risk he simply cannot take.
With their wedding date on the horizon, Shona was left devastated by David’s revelation.
Will David go down for what happened?
Coronation Street continues Monday 4thNovember at 7:30pm on ITV.
EastEnders aired a sudden exit for Mariam and Arshad Ahmed (Indira Joshi and Madhav Sharma) tonight, as the characters departed the Square after Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) gave them the travel vouchers Adam Bateman (Stephan Rahman-Hughes) had bestowed upon her.
Several weeks back, Mariam was mugged in broad daylight while returning home with the groceries. As a result, she began to feel unsafe, and informed Arshad about her desire to leave London.
While their plans were somewhat up in the air following her revelation, learning of Adam’s cheating behaviour broke of their hearts — and it was this that ultimately made them decide to depart. Well, that and Honey’s generosity.
(Picture: BBC)
After Adam promised her a holiday in last night’s episode, Honey woke up to travel vouchers from her beau. However, upon learning that Adam had offered Mariam the very same vouchers last week — which Arshad declined on her behalf — Honey was filled with regret, and thus gave them to the Ahmeds so that they could head off on their pilgrimage.
However, Adam confronted Habiba (Rukku Nahar) — blaming her for Mariam and Arshad’s impeding departure. He referred to Mariam as a bad mum — but Mariam overheard the whole thing.
In an attempt to cheer up a heartbroken Mariam, Habiba and Iqra (Priya Davdra) tracked down some of the children their grandparents had fostered — and Mariam was delighted as a result.
Honey arrived to see them off, and Mariam informed Billy that he’s the only man that can truly make her happy.
Mariam and Arshad set off to start their new adventure together, as Habiba informed Adam that he’ll never have a love like theirs.
EastEnders continues Monday 4thNovember at 8pm on BBC One.
EastEnders have dropped a new trailer for huge upcoming scenes which will seemingly change everything, as Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) ups the ante in her quest to get revenge on the Mitchell clan — and her feud with Sharon reaches new heights, as she threatens to reveal the big secret.
Mel has made Sharon’s life a living hell over the past couple of months, as — after discovering the Mitchell matriarch’s affair with Keanu (Danny Walters) — she proceeded to blackmail Sharon — threatening to reveal said affair to Phil (Steve McFadden) if she refused to comply with her requests.
As a result, Sharon acquired her a villa in Portugal — but Mel’s game was far from finished, as she proceeded to blackmail Sharon further, this time demanding she sell the club to Ruby (Louisa Lytton).
Sharon seemingly got the upper hand earlier this week when Ben (Max Bowden) informed her that Mel had harboured Hunter prior to the siege — information which Sharon then used to blackmail Mel.
However, in spite of this, Mel’s not backing down without a fight, and the trailer previews that the animosity between the pair will reach new heights in upcoming dramatic scenes.
With Mel having nothing to lose, her plan spirals out of control — and Sharon and Keanu begin to fear that she’s going to reveal their affair — and the fact that Keanu’s the father of Sharon’s baby — to Phil.
A car chase takes place, as Sharon speeds after Mel in order to prevent her from doing so.
With Mel’s final scenes approaching — and a high-speed car chase also ensuing — the question is: does Mel die?
If so, will a car crash be the reason why?
Either way, if this trailer is anything to go by, Mel’s final scenes will be unmissable!
EastEnders continues Monday 4thNovember at 8pm on BBC One.
Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) is hellbent on getting revenge on the Mitchell clan before setting off to Portugal in EastEnders, but she encountered something of a problem in tonight’s episode — and thus she set about ensuring that she gets what she wants by taking drastic action.
With Louise (Tilly Keeper) and Mel growing closer, Keanu (Danny Walters) became concerned about the pair’s close bond — and thus informed Lisa (Lucy Benjamin) that the only reason Lou’s heading off to Portugal is to please Mel.
While Lisa had her doubts, she later saw how overprotective Mel was becoming when she brought Louise to the hospital — and failed to inform her about it. Afterwards, Lisa confronted Mel and told her that Keanu and Louise don’t want to leave London — and she was left devastated as a result.
However, a visit from Jack (Scott Maslen) later gave her an idea, and thus she formulated a plan to get Lisa back on board with the Portugal move.
Yes, Mel revealed to Lisa that Phil (Steve McFadden) isn’t the father of Sharon’s baby — although she withheld the fact that Keanu is — before suggesting that it’s inevitable that said news will come out. As a result, she claimed that Louise and the baby would be better off in Portugal, and shouldn’t be surrounded by such stress.
Lisa wasn’t wholly convinced, so Mel was forced to lie further — telling her that Sharon is planning on informing the police that it wasn’t just Mel that harboured Hunter, but Lisa too.
Lisa was terrified of the prospect of jail time, and thus agreed to get Keanu back on board with the move.
As the episode came to a conclusion, Mel put a photo of Louise’s baby scan with Hunter’s (Charlie Winter) possessions — before she referred to herself as grandma.
The lengths Mel’s willing to go to are beginning to get rather terrifying — but will she succeed in getting Lisa, Louise and Keanu out of London?
EastEnders continues Monday 4thNovember at 8pm on BBC One.
Ethan (George Rainsford) is shocked when Effie (Abigail Hardingham) is rushed into the ED after collapsing during the CF trial. She’s been feeling worse generally, and when she’s in the doctor’s office she keels over, banging her head as she does so.
Her father Theo (Jim Sturgeon) thinks it’s inappropriate for Ethan to treat Effie, given that they’ve become romantically involved, but Ethan insists that he’s the person who’s best placed to treat her. What Ethan and we know is that Ethan is the only one who has the full picture of her medical history after he left certain details out of her notes to get her on the trial in the first place.
As another patient from the trial is brought in with similar symptoms to Effie, Ethan realises he can’t hold on to his lies any more – there’s too much at stake for Effie. But he’s desperate to know whether Effie is in the active group of the trial, and whether the experimental medicine that’s supposed to help her might actually be killing her. As Effie’s life hangs in the balance, Ethan’s past actions come back to haunt him.
Meanwhile, Jade (Gabriella Leon) is thrown when she bumps into an old acquaintance in the ED. Marty (Shaheen Jafargholi) tries to guess who the mysterious ‘Nigel’ might be – but the answer takes Jade right back to her roots and the reason she grew up in care. She’s afraid to open up old wounds, but if she does what might she discover?
Jade gets a reminder of the past (Picture: BBC)
Archie (Genesis Lynea) has to deal with a patient who is not happy at all about being in the ED, but as the story develops it seems that a child’s welfare might be at risk and the team have to take action.
And what’s happened to Rash (Neet Mohan) after he punched Ethan last week?
Sue Haasler is the author of five novels and the official BBC Holby City book, which you can read about here.
Kim Tate (Claire King) has been left humiliated, devastated and, most importantly, furious by the revelation that Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) has turned his back on her to pursue a relationship with her former friend Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) in Emmerdale.
We have seen Kim do some terrible things to those who have crossed her – including killing off Frank Tate, leave Chris Tate for dead and order a hit on Joe Tate – so could Rhona be her next victim as Kim sets out to ensure that Graham is shattered forever?
Kim has made it perfectly clear that she is going to make Graham suffer and that she plans to tear his life apart – and given that she never does things by halves, we reckon that she has a lot more planned than a demotion at work.
Having told Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) that she will make Graham pay for his betrayal of her, Kim is leaving Graham unsettled. And with he and Rhona finding their relationship the target of Kim’s mirth and jealousy, there’s a real danger that Rhona could be caught in the crossfire.
Graham knows more than anyone how dangerous former jailbird Kim is given that he himself has been ordered to carry out instructions including murder on her behalf. So as Kim makes her intentions for revenge clear to him, will he discover that Rhona is in danger? And will it be too late to save him?
Emmerdale bosses recently revealed that it would be a major Christmas at Home Farm, with Kim at the centre of the action. She may have softened somewhat of late after reuniting with son Jamie and meeting her granddaughter Millie – but the edge that Kim has always had is always there dormant and waiting to be stirred.
If she has now been pushed too far, are Rhona’s days numbered?
There was once a time when Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) marriage was thought to be as solid as a rock in Emmerdale, but recent events have seemingly proved otherwise, as — following Moira’s affair with Nate (Jurrell Carter) having come to light — the husband and wife couldn’t be further apart and, in the coming episodes, they split for good.
Following recent events, Moira arrives back at Butlers farm, and — determined to hold onto their marriage — she tells Cain that she’s moving back in so that they can fight for what they have. Emotional, she makes an attempt to explain what motivated her to have an affair with Nate in the first place, but it’s clear that Cain’s not interested.
As Cain tries to avoid eye-contact with her, Moira takes hold of his head, forcing him to look her in the eye — and she’s convinced he still loves her as a result. She kisses him, and he doesn’t pull away.
However, it doesn’t take long for Cain to realise what’s happening and thus he stops, and orders her out of the farm once more. Moira’s still refusing to give up, but it’s clear she’s got a fight on her hands.
Later, Kerry (Laura Norton) flirts with Cain and the chemistry is evident for a brief moment. Meanwhile, Moira readies herself to move back to Butlers, but — upon her arrival at there farm — she walks in on him with Kerry, and she’s devastated as a result.
Cain’s pleased that Moira’s upset — and Moira comes to realisation that her and Cain are over for good.
Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) was left devastated in EastEnders when he learned that he’d have to plan a funeral for Terry Bates — aka the man that murdered his dad Jase (Stephen Lord) a decade ago — and, with the event approaching, he sets about seeking revenge.
Several weeks ago, Jay’s plans to have a day out with Lola (Danielle Harold) and Lexi were scuppered when another booking came in at work — and the scale of said booking was questionable to say the least. Afterwards, Jay came to realise that the service he’d be arranging was for none other than the man who murdered his father.
He was understandably left reeling, and Callum (Tony Clay) informed Ben (Max Bowden) as a result, as he’d never seen Jay so angry before.
(Picture: BBC)
In spite of a couple of weeks having passed since Jay learned of Terry’s death, his anger is still very much present, and — with the day of the funeral approaching — Lola grows suspicious of what he’s up to. However, Jay brushes off her concerns, so Lola resorts to quizzing Billy (Perry Fenwick) — and she’s left stunned to to learn what her boyfriend is planning.
Determined to put a stop to Jay’s revenge plans, Lola asks Ben for help, so Ben heads off to speak to Jay — but delivers him a surprise offer.
Later in the week, Terry’s funeral arrives, and Lola tries one last time to talk Jay out of whatever it is that he’s planning — to no avail. In spite her pleas, Ben decides to take matters into his own hands.
The question is: what will transpire?
Is Jay in serious danger?
Or will he come to his senses before it’s too late?
One to watch: Tuesday 5th November at 7:30pm on BBC One.
There are much worse vices to have than online Scrabble but wordsmith Roy Cropper (David Neilson) may be about to take his lexical habit to the limit in Coronation Street when Carla Connor (Alison King) fears that he is addicted to the game.
While we wouldn’t want to come up against the might of Roy and his extensive vocabulary in a Scrabble-off, he is clearly finding himself worthy opponents as Carla worries about how long he is spending on his computer.
And before you suggest it, Scrabble definitely is all Roy is looking up.
As Carla sets out to carry through an intervention, she sets up a real life Scrabble game (for the kids out there, that involves an actual board and letter tiles) but as the evening kicks off Friday night with a bang, Roy is irked when he realises that Carla has arranged it because she thinks he has a habit.
It remains to be seen whether Roy will end up at Scrabblers Anonymous but there are even heavier times ahead for the cafe king as he will manage to track down his long lost brother after discovering his late mother Sylvia gave birth after an affair.
With Roy suddenly facing a family secret followed by a tragic loss, Carla will soon have more to worry about that a reliance on Scrabble. Can she help Roy to heal the pain that this will inevitably cause?
The last time that Roy was hit with conflicting grief was when Sylvia died – and it led to Roy questioning his feelings and relationship with his spiky mum and also a sleepwalking habit.

Irene learns about Tommy’s civil case (Picture: Channel 5)
Irene’s (Lynne McGranger) court case is finally over, with the verdict revealing that, while the jury found her guilty of assaulting Tommy (Adam Sollis), her sentence wasn’t going to involve jail time. Instead, Irene would need to keep attending her support group to deal with the trauma from the abuse which triggered her into the violent act.
With the drama appearing to be behind them, an upbeat Leah (Ada Nicodemou) plans to whisk Justin (James Stewart) away for a short break as a thank you for being so supportive. But her plans go out of the window when Irene reveals Tommy is launching a massive civil case against her.
After speaking to her lawyer, Irene goes on to say that Tommy wants a million dollars, and intends to take her for everything she’s got. This means Leah and the Diner will be dragged into the case too.
What’s more, her lawyer has advised that the best course of action would be for her to offer him a settlement – which Leah strongly opposes. Why should they give him money after what he did to Bella (Courtney Miller)? However, Irene insists that this time, Leah needs to let her take the lead.
Colby leads Teresa into the police station (Picture: Channel 5)
Later, Irene reveals she’ll need to sell her house and use the money to pay Tommy if she wants to avoid Leah and the Diner being affected by the case. However, Leah insists that Irene needs to fight him, and she eventually concedes. She contacts the support group for help, which comes in the form of Teresa (Simone McAullay).
Unfortunately, Teresa’s ideas all revolve around slander, which Irene and Leah know will only backfire on them. Eventually, the two women manage to get rid of Teresa. However, she returns when Irene is closing up the Diner, full of intense feelings. Irene says her hands are tied and she can’t do anything to stop Tommy.
The next morning, Irene is at the Diner when Teresa appears, covered in blood. She says that when Irene said her hands were tied, she realised that her own weren’t. She went ahead and took care of Tommy for good…
Robbo intimidates thugs to try and get to Jasmine (Picture: Channel 5)
Robbo’s (Jake Ryan) anguish over Jasmine’s (Sam Frost) abduction intensifies when the investigation reaches a standstill, with no further information to go off. Having barely eaten or slept in days, Robbo is desperate to find a lead.
Colby (Tim Franklin) is worried about Robbo’s wellbeing, but Robbo is distracted by a DNA match which gives him the name of one of the men who took his wife – Lenny Gordon (Joseph Del Re). He rushes out to track Lenny down, who is hanging on to life and awaiting treatment at Northern Districts Hospital.
Desperate to find answers about Jasmine, Robbo barricades himself into the room with him, and presses Lenny for information that could lead him to his wife. Dr Alex (Zoe Ventoura) realises she can’t get into the room, and starts hammering at the door, begging Robbo to let her in so she can give Lenny the treatment he needs. However, Robbo refuses to listen, continuing to intimidate Lenny for information.
Robbo will do anything to find his wife (Picture: Channel 5)
When Colby arrives at the hospital, Dr Alex fills him in. The two try to get into the room, but the door has been shut off well. Meanwhile, Robbo presses Lenny for information, but Lenny won’t go beyond saying Jasmine is alive for fear that Des will hunt him down.
A panicked Dr Alex tells Colby that Lenny is developing septicaemia, and if they can’t get in there to treat him soon, he could die. Colby passes on this information to Robbo, but Robbo is insistent – Lenny has to give up Jasmine’s location before he’s allowed treatment. Is Robbo about to cause Lenny’s death in his desperation to find his wife?
Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) and Dean (Patrick O’Connor) have been entertaining Dean’s mum, Karen (Georgia Adamson), after her surprise arrival in the Bay. When she plans to leave and go to look for work in nearby Reefton Lakes, she makes a throwaway comment about Ziggy being approved for bearing future grandchildren which leaves Dean rattled.
When the couple head out for a surf, Dean is quieter than usual. Ziggy suspects he is simply upset about his mum suddenly leaving, and reminds him she’s not too far to visit. Besides, now she knows that his mum would be happy for both of them to visit, as she’s received the seal of approval for kids!
Dean reacts to her comment by ducking out of the conversation and heading over to Ryder (Lukas Radovich), pretending he owes him a surf lesson. Ziggy is left troubled by his strange behaviour. Later on, Ziggy invites Dean to join her as she has lunch with her parents, but he ducks out again.
Dean avoids Ziggy (Picture: Channel 5)
Later, Ziggy confronts him – but he shuts down. At work, Dean makes enough strange remarks to Mackenzie (Emily Weir) while he’s got grandchildren on his mind that she sends him home to sort his life out. Realising he needs to explain himself, he goes and apologises to Ziggy.
Dean explains that his mum’s comment about grandchildren bothered him, because he doesn’t want to have kids. Ziggy is stunned by the news, and asks why he’s so against it. Dean explains it’s because of his mums’ schizoaffective disorder, which is genetic. He doesn’t want to risk passing it on.
Ziggy tries to reason with him, but he won’t budge. In fact, he tells Ziggy that if she wants kids, she should walk away from him now…
It’s been several months since Mick and Linda Carter (Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright) first learned that Ollie might be on the autism spectrum, and — after a lengthy wait — the day of their son’s assessment arrives in the coming episodes.
Viewers have seen Mick and Linda worry about Ollie over the last couple of months. After learning that Ollie might be on the autism spectrum, the much-loved couple discovered they’d have to wait months for an assessment.
As a result, they’ve done everything they can to support their son in the meantime.
With Ollie having started school back in September, Linda has went out of her way to make her son’s life easier, and she even attempted to befriend a group of mums — the very group that Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) referred to as the ‘Mummy Mafia’ — in the hopes of organising playdates in the future.
(Picture: BBC)
The mum’s haven’t been all that accommodating, but Linda’s persevered — proving just how much she cares for her son.
It’s been a worrying few months for both her and Mick, but — in the coming episodes — the wait is over, as the day of Ollie’s assessment arrives, and the Carters seem to be more united than ever as they await the outcome.
What happens next has yet to be revealed, but will Mick and Linda manage to put their worries aside and focus on what’s best for Ollie?
Hollyoaks is lining up Sylver McQueen (David Tag) as the prime suspect in the who shot Mercedes mystery as he discovers that she has been sleeping with Liam Donovan (Jude Monk McGowan) – and that together, they hid the fact that they were involved in the hit and run which almost killed Grace Black (Tamara Wall).
Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) has behaved pretty badly since the hit and run which left Grace temporarily unable to walk. The pair let Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) take the fall for the crime and they even continued their passionate affair while Sylver – who has wanted a future for Mercedes – has been oblivious to her betrayal.
Things come to a head in upcoming scenes as Grace plays the recording of Mercedes blackmailing Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas Speed) into keeping quiet about his knowledge of the hit and run and Sylver is horrified by his wife’s coldness and actions both through the infidelity and the aftermath of the car accident.
(Picture: Lime Pictures)
As he realises he doesn’t know her, his rage will build and he will be left feeling like he can’t even bear to look at her. Having spent time in prison when he believed he had been a murderer and with a serial killer for a mum, Sylver might well have the genes to make him a killer.
And with Mercedes having emotionally wounded him and shattered his hopes for the future, might he take the ultimate revenge?
Mercedes will be dancing alone in The Loft after isolating and upsetting many villagers and building an enemy list to make her eyes water. And someone will confront her before gunning her down in cold blood, sparking a mystery for fans to crack.
Is Sylver the true culprit – or will one of the other suspects be the one to pull the trigger?
Ethan (George Rainsford) had a terrible time in tonight’s Casualty, as Effie (Abigail Hardingham) became gravely ill and he was forced to admit to the various lies he’s been telling. It all started with Effie going to the doctor running the trial, Dr Juliet Chen (Rachel Lin), complaining of feeling ill – then she promptly collapsed on the floor.
Ethan and Theo (Jim Sturgeon), Effie’s dad, wondered whether it could be a side effect of the trial. This meant Ethan was forced to admit that when he said that Effie was definitely in the active group on the trial he hadn’t actually been telling the truth. When Effie started coughing up blood Ethan also had to reveal that he’d left her previous episode of coughing up blood off her notes so she could get on the trial in the first place.
This would have put Ethan in all sorts of ethical difficulties, but luckily for him (sort of), the trial had to be stopped anyway after three other patients appeared all with similar symptoms and the cause was traced to a dodgy air conditioner unit in the trial office. A swift change of antibiotics dragged Effie back from the brink, but she told Ethan that she knows she can’t go on much longer. He told her he knows how she feels, and explained why – his Huntington’s Disease will probably start causing symptoms in the next few years and the outlook for him isn’t good. ‘At least no one can say that we don’t have anything in common,’ Effie said sadly.
As Ethan contemplated his and Effie’s future, Jade (Gabriella Leon) was thinking about her past. A chance meeting with her former case worker made her wonder whether she should ask to see her file. She’d never known how she’d ended up in care. Robyn (Amanda Henderson) and Marty (Shaheen Jafargholi) helped her decide to ask for the file, and when she asked her case worker for it he told her that her mother had been 22 when she gave her up, despite social services trying to keep mother and child together.
Upsetting news (Picture: BBC)
Jade was thrown at this news as she’d always assumed her mother was a teenager who couldn’t cope with her. The case worker said there was a letter in the file from her mother that might explain things. On her own in her car later, Jade opened the letter. We didn’t get to find out what it said, but it left Jade in tears. Marty saw her crying and came over to support her.
The guest patient o’ the week story was similarly about someone who’d had a bad start in life. Danny came to visit his father after years of estrangement and found him on the floor next to the cat litter tray in a house that looked like something from an Extreme Hoarders show. Danny was further horrified that his sister Kate and her son were also living in n over-cluttered house. It was so bad that Danny fell over something and impaled himself to provide this week’s ‘two casualties from one family’ scenario – that moment when the paramedic looks at their patient and says, ‘I remember you from earlier!’ And the cat littler tray was no red herring – Danny’s father’s problems were mainly caused by toxoplasmosis, from cat poo.
Dylan avoids annoying admin (Picture: BBC)
In other news, we learned that Dylan (William Beck) decided not to suspend Rash for punching Ethan but advised him to take some time off instead and attend a conflict resolution course, which is wise judgement on Dylan’s part, not least because it avoids ‘opening that particular can of administrative worms.’

Things will get sombre for Kabin queen Rita this year when she suffers an accident in the home, which will prompt Coronation Street to tackle the issue of loneliness at Christmas, particularly for older people. When Rita climbs up to put fairy lights on her tree, she suffers a fall and the tree collapses on top of her, leaving her trapped.
As she is injured and no-one finds her for days as they assume she is away for the festive season, there will be a real sense that she is in danger of passing away. The whole situation is set to give Rita a huge fright – and the community a wake up call over being there for one another.
As many of the village’s younger kids fall victim to drug dealers, parents face their biggest nightmare and viewers will see a year’s worth of ramifications in some specially filmed scenes showing the end of 2020.
The Dingles divided in Emmerdale
Another family facing major showdowns is the Dingles in the village as Kate also revealed they would be central to Christmas scenes. But given how many Dingles there are, it remains to be seen who will be causing the most turmoil.
With Charity and Vanessa’s relationship soon to be at risk, Aaron going spectacularly off the rails, Mandy and Vinny causing more trouble, Lydia seeking her mystery benefactor and Cain and Moira divided for good, there are a lot of bubbling recipes for dramatic showdowns.
Fiz faces a nanny nightmare in Coronation Street
Jennie McAlpine has promised a busy Christmas for Fiz and Tyrone while Maureen Lipman recently confirmed that nanny Jade would be the cause of some disharmony in the household. It’s clear that Jade is out to get Fiz and cause trouble – but why?
Clues are being pieced together that it won’t be a harmonious Christmas at the Queen Vic – Kate Oates and Jon Sen have already confirmed that Mick and Linda will be part of the major anniversary storyline in February and in the run up to that, Linda will face the demons of drink as she battles alcoholism.
With Christmas being a time of merriment and lots of booze flowing, it seems likely that things will come to a head for her as she struggles. Can Mick be there to help her or will the couple face another major crisis this Yuletide?
Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) is fiercely protective of her ex Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) in Coronation Street. Despite them spending much of their marriage breaking each others’ hearts and cheating on one another, Sally and Kev get on pretty well these days – so Sally is wary of him getting hurt as he gets closer to Abi Franklin (Sally Carman).
Following the death of an aunt, Kevin is flush, having inherited a whopping amount of money – and he immediately went on a date with someone who was clearly only interested in his now throbbing bank balance.
Sally thinks Abi might be cut from the same cloth. Having befriended Abi after she stood up for her in prison, Sally helped her get back on her feet and has encouraged her to pursue her education. But when she sees Abi bunking off of her revision to spend time getting drunk with best pal Kevin, Sally is fuming.

Later on, Sally picks up on vibes between Kevin and Abi and on the day of her exam, Abi reckons that she has aced it, despite being hungover. Later, Sally points out that Abi has only shown an interest in Kevin since he got his money and they row, leaving an affronted Abi to chuck a bowl of spaghetti bolognese over Sally.
Ooft, those tough stains will not go down well with Sal!
In the wake of this, Abi declares that she is moving in with Kevin and Kevin is secretly pleased to have her company. However, after Sally apologises and admits she just didn’t want to see Kevin hurt, Abi forgives her and moves in, promising her that she doesn’t have any designs on Kevin – he’s just a good mate.
However, does he share this sentiment? Given his reaction when he is told that she is staying at Sally’s after all, we’re not so sure…
One to watch: Wednesday 6th November at 8:30pm on ITV.
