Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) has been turning lives upside down left, right and centre in Emmerdale and tonight, not content with destroying Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) marriage to Moira (Natalie J Robb) with the affair that they had, he turns his attention to dividing Amy and Kerry Wyatt’s (Natalie Ann Jamieson and Laura Norton) bond.
Nate came to the village, targeting his biological dad Cain amid the belief that he had walked out on Nate’s mum, Cara. The truth was that Cain didn’t even know he had this secret son thanks to the interference of Faith (Sally Dexter), who got in the way of Cara’s communicate with him.
This has led to Cain turning his back on Faith, who has been forced to leave the village in disgrace. Cain also wants nothing more to do with Moira, who gave into Nate’s seduction and tonight admits to Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) that she had no idea what she was thinking. Same, hon.
With the marriage in tatters, his relationship with his mum fractured and the revelation that he has a son, things couldn’t be much worse for Cain. But he isn’t the only one left seething by the betrayal as Nate was initially conducting his pursuit of Moira while he was with Amy.
And it seems that the only reason he was dating Amy was to try and persuade her to fight Cain for custody of Kyle, another way to hurt the village hard man. Kerry discovered the truth about Nate and Moira’s affair but was persuaded to keep quiet as she herself was hiding the secret of the fire which killed Frank Clayton at the time.
But tonight, Nate makes it clear to Amy that her mum knew and didn’t tell her, which leaves Amy aghast. With Nate having caused more damage, is another family set to be broken apart?
With Kerry set to hit the bottle in coming scenes, it seems another downfall is coming.
Emmerdale continues on Monday 28th October at 7pm on ITV.
After being brutally attacked by knife-wielding Scarlett (Christie Whelan Browne), Ned Willis (Ben Hall) is going through some stuff in Neighbours.
Ned barely survived the stabbing and he is struggling to cope after the incident. Is it any wonder? Scarlett messed with his head for weeks then chased him around a maze before knifing him. It’s not surprising he’s reliving the horror every time he closes his eyes.
He still feels terrible about everything that happened with Yashvi, and he tries to get her to listen to him by sending some desperate texts and paying her an unexpected visit. But she ignores all of his attempts and refuses to see him when he shows up.
Ned is devastated, but he’s also trying to deal with the trauma caused by Scarlett. Terese gently suggests he should try having some counselling. But his problems run very deep – whenever he tries to sleep he’s confronted by images of the violent attack.
Is this the final straw for Yashvi and Ned?
Yashvi finally relents and decides it’s time she speaks to him and goes over to the house. But her timing is terrible; she pays a visit just as Ned experiences one of his nightmares. Terrified, he lashes out, mistaking her for Scarlett, leaving her injured.
Yashvi is left hugely distressed by Ned’s actions and she flees, leaving Ned beside himself over what he’s just done. Has he ruined everything?
Scenes air from Monday 4th November at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
You upset a soap fanbase at your peril and every soap star has gone through it when their character has made a damaging decision. Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon has received backlash from viewers of the programme, who have been calling out Bethany Platt for sharing a kiss with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) while his wife Sinead (Kate McGlynn) was dying.
Dubbed by Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford) as a cow, Bethany has been left upset by her actions but, as Gail Rodwell (Helen Worth), explained to her, the kiss was a result of a lot of confused and mixed up emotions from both Bethany and Daniel.
Many fans have not been seeing it that way and have been attacking Bethany – and sometimes even Lucy herself – on Twitter and other social media as a result.
Speaking to The Sun, Lucy explained: ‘People are not very happy with me. It’s been really hard. It’s one of those stories that’s so important and so many people have been affected by it.
“Everyone who watched it will be able to relate to it in a kind of way. And there have been a few nasty comments on my social media.
‘But do you know what I find funny? People sometimes can’t differentiate between me as a person and the character I play. It’s just like, “You are the worst person in the world.” I feel like it was important for Corrie to show that Daniel was suffering so much, and he was losing his mind, that the kiss was just a moment where he wanted comfort.
‘It wasn’t like he was “cheating” on his wife. I don’t see it like that. And Bethany is obviously guilt-stricken.’
Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent, best known for playing Sophie Webster in the soap, has announced that she has given birth to her first baby. She and her partner Kean Bryan have welcomed a baby boy and the actress shared a post to social media.
She wrote: ‘On Wednesday 23rd October at 8.14am Our Baby Boy Arrived. Mexx S J Bryan, you complete us.’
The star, who has been in Corrie for 15 years, previously announced her news back in April, saying in OK! Magazine: ‘We’re both each other’s biggest fans and having a baby together will add an extra bond.
‘Kean brings out the best in me and it makes me so excited that we’re on this journey together. I like to think I’m the boss of our relationship but Kean has a really wise head on his shoulders, so I know he’ll be a brilliant dad.’
She added on social media at the time: ‘Sometimes, every once in a while, something happens that makes you believe in the true meaning of magic Our Baby B – we are so excited to be your Mummy & Daddy.’
Brooke discovered that she was expecting back in February and has shared the pregnancy journey with fellow Corrie stars Julia Goulding (Shona Ramsey) and Hayley Tamaddon (Andrea Beckett), who recently welcomed her ‘miracle baby’.
(Picture: Kean Bryan/Instagram)
Brooke’s final scenes on the soap recently aired and it has not been 100% confirmed when or if she will return after her maternity leave. Sophie was seen departing for a round the world trip with Kate Connor (Faye Brookes) after parting on good terms with Paula Martin (Stirling Gallacher).
It hasn’t been the best of times for Shona (Picture: ITV)
It hasn’t been the easiest of times for Coronation Street’s Shona (Julia Goulding) of late.
Recent months have seen her at the centre of a dramatic kidnapping plot, forced to stab her own son Clayton, and having to deal with her fiance David (Jack P Shepherd) being in prison – which in turn has sparked some pretty troubling behaviour in his son Max (Harry McDermott).
And with Julia due to go on maternity leave soon – marking Shona’s exit from the soap – that might be one union which is under threat, especially now David is in the frame for stabbing Josh (Ryan Clayton) in the recent prison riot.
But just when is Julia due to leave the soap? Here’s what you need to know…
‘Ben and I are delighted to announce that we are expecting our first baby at the end of this year!’ she said.
‘We are absolutely overjoyed and can’t wait to meet our little one!’
Julia is one of four Corrie actresses who were expecting at the same time – with Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster) and Lucy-Jo Hudson (Katy Harris) both currently pregnant – while Hayley Tamaddon (Andrea Beckett) welcomed baby boy Jasper earlier this month.
How will Shona be leaving the soap?
Shona has had to deal with troubling behaviour from Max of late (Picture: ITV)
It’s not yet known how Shona will make her exit from Weatherfield – and it seems likely she’ll be back, since the actress previously said she only plans to take four months maternity leave.
Recent storylines have seen the character face fresh challenges in the wake of the prison riot – and a potential attempted murder charge hanging over David’s head which could scupper their wedding plans.
Could Shona’s exit spell heartbreak for her and David? We’ll know soon enough…
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV at 7.30pm.

Stacey Fowler is making a brief return to EastEnders (Picture: BBC)
We haven’t seen Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) in Albert Square for a while after she went on the run in the wake of the assault on Phil Mitchel (Steve McFadden).
The character’s been absent in the wake of Lacey Turner’s maternity leave – but is Stacey also about to hear the patter of tiny feet?
Here’s what you need to know…
Is Stacey Fowler pregnant in EastEnders?
As far as we’re aware, Stacey is not currently expecting a new addition to the Fowler clan.
However actress Lacey Turner has been absent from the show in recent months after she went on maternity leave in the summer – welcoming a baby girl with her husband Matt Kay in July.
Lacey welcomed little Dusty in July (Picture: Lacey Turner/Instagram)
However she did return to film a few scenes for one episode in August – which are the scenes you’ll be seeing tonight.
Stacey will return to the soap on a more permanent basis at a later date (Picture: BBC)
You can expect her to make a full-time return to Walford at some point later next year – with an insider telling the Daily Star that Stacey’s return to the soap will be gradual.
‘Initially it will be a short stint to reintroduce the character and then she’ll be back full-time a few months later,’ the source explained.
Why did Stacey Fowler leave Albert Square?
Stacey left in the wake of the assault on Phil Mitchell (Picture: BBC)
Stacey went on the run with Martin in the wake of the brutal assault on Phil, which left him close to death in hospital.
After he recovered Phil was determined to find out who was responsible, and in a shock twist discovered it was Stacey – leaving her and Martin to escape in the hope of escaping arrest.
With Martin back in the Square following Bex (Jasmine Armfield)’s suicide attempt, and in thrall to Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), he’s left fearing for his family’s safety – and so meets Stacey in secret in Monday night’s show.
She’s concerned as to why he’s injured – and threatens to go to Walford to find out for herself – leaving Martin to resort to extreme measures to keep her safe.
What happens? You’ll just have to keep watching…

The funeral episodes look set to be just as devastating to watch as the scenes on Friday night when Sinead passed away. How Daniel will cope without his beloved wife and as a newly single parent remains to be seen and viewers will need to stay tuned to find out.

Breda McQueen (Moya Brady) has triggered more deadly disaster in Hollyoaks as she has lost control of her car and crashed into the digger used by Woody (Jake Quickenden) to create Cindy Cunningham’s (Stephanie Waring) new empire.
Breda had decided that it was time to free Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) and he dared hope that there was finally an escape from the sinister serial killer gran. As she made promises to him, he climbed into the boot of her car.
But, unable to bring himself to trust her, Tony made an attempt to escape when he saw the village coming into sight. Distracted by Tony’s actions, Breda smashed into the equipment, putting both herself and Tony in serious calamity.
But she is just triggering the beginning of an even wider disaster. The heavy equipment on the unstable ground was already dangerous enough but this impact has seen the ground start to give way and the tunnels beneath the village start to gill with debris as a cave-in is moments away.
It remains to be seen whether Tony escapes Breda’s clutches or whether this could be the end for them but a broken Luke Morgan (Gary Lucy) is about to make the situation a whole lot worse after hitting the bottle.
Devastated by the discovery that Cindy knew the truth about DJ’s paternity, he dismisses any chance of a future for them together and climbs drunkenly into the digger himself – with horrifying consequences which see beams fly towards the village below and the tunnels give way.
With several residents left in the line of fire and trapped beneath rubble, will everyone make it out of the situation alive?
It’s looking particularly unsettling for Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams) and Mitchell Deveraux (Imran Adams), who have snuck into the florists for a liaison. But as the disaster unfolds, will it be their last moments?
Devastation and chaos are set to ensue in Hollyoaks as part of the soap’s signature stunt week, but Luke Morgan (Gary Lucy) and Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn) were forced to deal with a very different kind of devastation tonight, as they came to the realisation that not only is DJ Luke’s child and not Darren’s (Ashley Taylor Dawson), but that Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) knew of this information and withheld it from them.
With Cindy’s Grande Bizarre project in full flow — a project which she devised with Luke by her side — it’s safe to assume that she’s got enough to deal with right now, so Luke’s realisation that she knew of DJ’s true parentage really couldn’t have come at a worse time for her.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk about Luke’s discovery, actress Stephanie Waring said: ‘Luke is fuming, he can’t believe that Cindy’s kept something like this from him.’
‘Cindy’s devastated obviously that he’s found out that she knows, but with lots of stuff happening at this point with the stunt, there’s no time to dwell on it right now.’
However, Cindy might be otherwise preoccupied with her Bizarre, but it’s a well-known fact that she’s falling in love with Luke, so this revelation could very well spell the end of their blossoming relationship — not to mention the fact that it will lead to plenty more conflict for the pair in the future.
Stephanie said: ‘She’s devastated that he’s reacted the way that he has done, but then — what happens with the stunt — she ends up being really angry with him and not wanting anything to do with him.’
Of course the question on all of our lips is whether to not there is a future for Cindy and Luke? Stephanie mused: ‘It’s quite up in the air. They both want the same thing, but other things keep getting in the way.’
Yes, Hollyoaks never disappoints when it comes to stunts, and this one is set to be their biggest yet, as pretty much every character is involved in one way or another. What’s more, Cindy hasn’t featured in one in quite a while, which is why Stephanie was so chuffed to have been a part of it.
She said: ‘Doing it was like a little bubble to be honest, it was so different from the regular Hollyoaks, it felt like a different show for a while. I loved it — it was very nostalgic being on set with everyone who I’ve known for so long. It was exciting as well doing a stunt — I’ve not done a stunt since the bus crash back in 2012. It was nice to be at the centre of this one.’
Stephanie mused: ‘I think initially, she does feel responsible, but then she realises that she isn’t entirely responsible for what happened. Initially she does, but then she passes the blame onto somebody else.’
Who that somebody else is has yet to be revealed, but given that plenty of villagers play a part in the upcoming devastation — including Luke, Breda (Moya Brady) and Woody — any one of them could end up paying the price for their actions.
Speaking of Woody, Stephanie would love to see the character — and, of course, Jake — pop up again in Hollyoaks in the future.
‘I love Jake, I’ve known him for a long time. It’s so different from Dancing On Ice where we were competitors — and here he was on my turf! He’s such a natural. He kept everyone’s spirits up on set, and had this new energy that he brought — always laughing, always making jokes. He got on well with everybody, he was so polite. He was great. I’d really love it if he came back for a bigger stint.’
Hollyoaks continues Tuesday 29th October at 7pm on E4
This week on EastEnders we’ll see an enraged Sharon reveal to Ben that she’s only selling the club because she needs money to give to Mel, which will prompt Ben to share a secret with Sharon that will change the game.
We don’t know at this stage if the perilous accident will be the end of Mel, but in photos taken of the set when the crash scenes were filmed, it certainly looks like the character’s life could be hanging in the balance.
The car crash happens following an intense chase with Sharon and a car accident would be a very final end for Mel and one which would echo the demise of her ex Steve (Martin Kemp), who was killed after he smashed his car after being chased down by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) who was trying to get baby Louise back.
Viewers will have to stay tuned to discover if Mel survives the horrific crash or not in the coming weeks.
Martin Fowler (James Bye) endured an incredibly harrowing experience at the hands of Ben Mitchell during EastEnders last week, when the Mitchell lad hung him from the railway bridge and proceeded to threaten his family. As a result, Martin was left with no other choice but to comply with Ben’s wishes, and thus set about ensuring wife Stacey (Lacey Turner) stays away from the Square.
After getting Ben arrested with some help from Jack (Scott Maslen), Martin was on cloud nine, as he believed his chaotic alliance with the young man was finally at an end. However, Ben’s not one to let someone away with such a betrayal, and thus he set about reminding Martin of who’s boss.
Ben made clear that Martin will work for him until he sees fit to suggest otherwise, but when Martin refused to do so, Ben threatened to kill Stacey and all of their kids.
Knowing he had no choice but do as Ben wishes, Martin continued to meet the young man’s demands during tonight’s episode. However, with Stacey wanting to return home, he needed to ensure that she stayed as far away from Walford as possible. As a result, he arranged to meet with her — outside the Square, of course.
Martin awaited Stacey’s arrival, but when she finally showed up she was devastated by the extent of his injuries. Faced with little choice, he was forced to lie about how he got said injuries.
However, perceptive as ever, Stacey knew something was awry — and thus she threatened to go to Albert Square and uncover the mystery for herself. Knowing that was absolutely out of the question, Martin resorted to drastic measures to protect his wife.
He proceeded to tell Stacey that their marriage was over. However, Stacey wasn’t buying it, so he was forced to go even further, and thus he told her he slept with Sonia (Natalie Cassidy).
Stacey was devastated at Martin’s revelation, and thus she broke down.
Has Martin’s plan worked? Is this really the end of their marriage?
EastEnders continues Tuesday 29thOctober at 7:30pm on BBC One.
Consumed by the grief of losing his soulmate Sinead (Katie McGlynn), Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) has found that he is unable to be near Coronation Street as the grief becomes too much – so he has taken the decision to leave with baby Bertie in tow. And now his family – as well as Beth Tinker (Lisa George) – are concerned that he has gone for good.
Viewers were left in tears following the harrowing death of Sinead, who passed away after sharing her fears, memories and love with her husband. Guilty over going off the rails following a kiss with Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), Daniel’s pain is coupled with a lot of self blame.
Tonight, Bethany tried to take some of that off of his shoulders but Beth waded in and accused the pair of having an affair before Sinead is even cold. Everyone was doing their best to try and be there for Daniel but he eventually announced that he was taking Bertie to Scotland to take his son away from it all.
Worried that she won’t see Bertie again, Beth isn’t alone in being concerned that Daniel is going for good and as the funeral approaches, it will be down to Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) to persuade him to come home and pay his final respects to the woman he loved.
Rob will be off screen for a couple of weeks but will return for further emotional scenes – and show bosses recently confirmed that the storyline would continue to play into next year as Daniel struggles to take the next step in his and Bertie’s lives.
David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) seem destined never to find quiet happiness in Coronation Street. Not only is Marion Logan trying to take custody of Max Turner (Harry McDermott) from them but David is not looking at a much longer prison sentence as he has been set up for the attempted murder of Josh Tucker (Ryan Clayton).
After Josh was stabbed in the melee of a prison riot, Abe ensured that David took the fall for it and the police certainly think they have their man. Even David’s own loved ones doubt his innocence, with Gail Rodwell (Helen Worth) so sure that he won’t be released in time for the wedding that she cancels it on Shona’s behalf! You can imagine how that goes down…
(Picture: ITV)
Things look even more bleak when a remorseless Josh once again decides to look out for himself and lies to the police about who stabbed him, implicating David. Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) is caught posing as his solicitor as he makes an attempt to try and talk him round but Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) then makes an attempt to get Josh to do the right thing.
Josh isn’t budging though and makes it clear that he is only interested in his own safety – he won’t be taking back his statement. As Billy is left crushed at being so helpless, he confides in Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) about the situation and Paul decides that perhaps he can do something.
As a helpless Shona starts to accept that the wedding can’t go ahead, fresh evidence comes to light which could exonerate David and see him released in time to say ‘I do’. Dare he and Shona hope that something might at last go right for them?
As the guests gather in the bistro, David faces a race against time and all Shona can do is hope that her husband to be will be home.
One to watch: Thursday 7th October at 8:30pm on ITV.
Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) and Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway (Tony Clay) have been through a lot in EastEnders this past year, but it seems as if the pair’s problems aren’t over just yet, as they face yet another hurdle in the coming episodes. However, Ben’s determined to not let anything get in the way of his relationship, and thus he makes a huge gesture to his man.
Pam Coker (Lin Blakely) makes a surprise return to Walford, and once Jay (Jamie Borthwick) and Lola (Danielle Harold) get wind of it, they set about arranging a surprise for Ben — who viewers will remember was very close to Pam when she lived in Walford. When Ben discovers that she’s back, he’s overjoyed.
However, in spite of his joy at seeing Paul’s (Jonny Labey) nan, he feels incredibly awkward about Callum and thus — when in Pam’s company — he plays down just who he is. Naturally, Callum’s upset.
(Picture: BBC)
Later in the week, Jay decides that it’s time for him to step down from his position at Coker and Mitchell’s and — when Ben finds out about Jay’s plans — he seizes the opportunity to help Callum earn some extra cash — by taking Jay’s job.
Ben later reveals his plan to Callum, but he doesn’t quite get the reaction he was hoping for.
Ben and Pam bond later in the week, and Pam ends up encouraging Ben to seize life and informs him that he should be happy with Callum.
Afterwards, Ben can’t stop thinking about Pam’s words, and thus he takes it upon himself to make a big gesture to Callum.
The question is: what is this gesture?
What’s more, how will Callum react? He’s upset about the brush-off in front of Pam, but will Ben’s actions be enough to make up for it?
One to watch: Friday 8th November at 7:30pm on BBC One.
Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) has had the year from hell in Hollyoaks, but it’s set to get much worse as the truth about the hit-and-run is revealed on the day of Harry Thompson’s (Parry Glasspool) funeral, which leaves her public enemy number one. With tensions running high among the villagers, Mercedes finds herself there victim of a gunshot wound.
After a hellish year, Mercedes is finally in a good place, and family life with Sylver (David Tag) and Bobby couldn’t be better. However, the day of Harry’s funeral arrives, and it’s safe to say that her happiness is well and truly put at risk.
Ever the hostess, she comforts Diane (Alex Fletcher), who’s emotional as she believes that no-one will show up as the village holds Harry responsible for the hit-and-run which left Grace (Tamara Wall) fighting for her life.
(Picture: Lime Pictures)
Meanwhile, Grace confronts Liam (Jude Monk McGowan) and, later, she prepares to get revenge on Mercedes.
At The Dog, she plays the recording of Mercedes confessing to the hit-and-run aloud — a recording which also features The Dog landlady admitting to framing Harry `— and everyone in attendance devastated.
(Picture: Lime Pictures)
Afterwards, Sylver, James (Gregory Finnegan), Diane, Grace and Breda (Moya Brady) are all fuming with Mercedes, and everyone begins to think that she had a part in Harry’s murder. As the week progresses, the villagers discuss Mercedes’ actions — and the devastation she’s caused as a result of said actions.
An emotional Mercedes enters The Loft and proceeds to raids the safe. She finds drugs and money — not to mention a gun. She heads onto the dance-floor on her own and dances away — as if she’s not got a care in the world.
As Mercedes dances, someone picks up the gun and proceeds to shoots her.
The big question is: Which scorned villager pulled the trigger?
What’s more, will Mercedes die as a result of her injuries?
Jonny Baxter (Ray Quinn) and Stuart Sumner (Chris Simmons) have caused plenty of pain and heartache in Hollyoaks since arriving in the village late last year, but the far-right extremists could be set to pay for their crimes at the hands of Finn O’Connor (Keith Rice), who delivers a threat aimed at the pair in the coming episodes.
Several weeks back, the residents of the village were left devastated by Jonny and Stuart’s actions. Yazz (Haiesha Mistry) was left with damage to her hearing as a result, and the whole Maalik clan were left shaken by what had transpired. Since then, Stuart, Jonny and Ste have laid low, but they’re set to be at the centre of things once more in the coming episodes.
Stuart and Jonny put The Teahouse on the market — and Misbah (Harvey Virdi), Yazz and Sami (Rishi Nair) are relieved. They’ve been staying with Leela (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) for the past couple of weeks, but as a result, they prepare to move home.
Later, Yazz drops her burger on the floor as Finn passes by, and he offers to buy her another. As the conversation moves to Stuart and Jonny, Finn promises Yazz that they will face repercussions for what they did, and she will be find happiness once more.
Is Finn simply trying to be nice, or is he issuing a threat to the far-right extremists?
One to watch: Wednesday 6th September at 7pm on E4.
Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) is about to get on the wrong side of just about everyone in Hollyoaks, as the truth about not only her involvement in the hit-and-run comes to light, but also the fact that she framed Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) for said hit-and-run. However, there’s a few people in particular who’s fuming with her actions — and all these few will become prime suspects as the Dog landlady is brutally shot in the coming episodes.
Between battling a drug habit, to knocking Grace (Tamara Wall) down during a joyride with Liam (Jude Monk McGowan), Mercedes has had a lot on her plate this year. What’s more, she also had a steamy summer affair with Liam behind husband Sylver’s (David Tag) back, which only made her marital problems all the more stressful.
However, things are set to get much worse as Grace played the recording of Mercedes confessing to the hit-and-run aloud in The Dog on the day of Harry’s funeral, and thus the entire village turns on her as a result. Later, she retreats to The Loft and gets drunk, but as she dances on the dance-floor, one of the scorned villagers picks up a gun and shoots her. The question is: which one is it?
Sylver McQueen
Sylver’s quite possibly the most devoted husband in Hollyoaks history, as he’s stood by Mercedes through everything and it’s clear just how much he loves her. However, in spite of everything he’s done for her this year, Mercy repeatedly cheated on his with Liam — something which will come to light in the coming episodes. Could this perhaps be enough to drive him to want to shoot Mercedes?
Actor David said: ‘Sylver’s motivation could be a number of things: firstly,Mercedes has been having an affair with Liam behind Sylver’s back; she aborted a baby that could have potentially been his; there was the car crash where Mercedes ran over Grace and unknowingly left her for dead.’
‘Sylver has become quite close to Grace recently and Mercedes could have killed her or paralysed her. So there’s a few things that could make Sylver quite mad and we know he’s got a bad temper…’
Liam Donovan
The only person who could rival Sylver in loving Mercedes is Liam. The young man has went to extreme lengths to protect her over the past couple of months, covering up her involvement in the hit-and-run which endangered his own sister. However, Mercedes repeatedly chose Sylver over him, and refused to run away with him earlier this year. But is her capable of shooting the woman he loves?
Actor Jude Monk McGowan said: They’ve had a very off and on intense relationship for the last 6 – 7 months and Mercedes has very definitely decided that it’s over, she’s done this to him before. He’s seemingly at her beck and call and Liam is usually not the kind of guy to let that happen. She’s aborted a baby that could have been Sylver’s, it could have been Liam’s, so there are lots of reasons why, in Liam’s mind, shooting her would remove him of a problem.
Breda McQueen
(Picture: Lime Pictures)
When it comes to murdering, there’s nobody more of a pro than Chester’s resident serial killer Breda McQueen. In addition to the fact that she’s bumped off half the village, she’s also demonstrated her disdain for Mercedes on numerous occasions in the past, and she’s made several attempts to murder her before.
With news that Mercedes had been cheating on her son about to out, it’s likely that Breda will set about seeking revenge on the young woman once more.
Grace Black
(Picture: Lime Pictures)
While all the suspects on this list have been wronged by Mercedes in soem respect, you could argue that Grace is the one who was hurt the most, what with her having left her to die by the side of a roadside. Grace certainly gets some degree of revenge when she plays the recoding of Mercedes confessing aloud, but could she perhaps go one step further and pull the trigger?
Actress Tamara Wall said: ‘Grace has just found out that it was Mercedes who ran her over and put her in a wheelchair, so she wants to get her revenge. Mercedes was with Grace’s brother, Liam when the accident happened but they framed Harry because it was his car that they were driving.’
On Grace’s rivalry with Mercedes, Tamara mused:It’s always fun. It’s like something out of Dynasty ,I think that’s what we get described as, Alexis and Krystle Carrington, because they are two of the feistiest characters in the show.’

Ever since discovering Harry had been murdered, James has been hellbent on finding out who was responsible. While he doesn’t discover the identity of the actual killer yet, he comes to believe that Mercedes is the one responsible. Is he capable of murder? Love certainly makes people go to extreme lengths, and it’s safe to say he loved Harry. What’s more, he doubted Harry about his involvement in the hit-and-run, so when he finds out that Harry had been telling the truth, he’ll no doubt be horrified.
Actor Gregory Finnegan said: ‘So, James’ motive for shooting Mercedes is that he blames her for pretty much everything bad that has happened to him and to his ex-boyfriend, Harry over the past few months. He has discovered about the hit and run that Mercedes framed Harry for and he believes that she has silenced Harry and killed him to make sure that the true story doesn’t come out, so James is hell bent on revenge, or is he?’

In Tony’s (Nick Pickard), Diane has been left to organise Harry’s funeral. When the truth comes to light, she’ll no doubt be horrified that Mercedes was more or less to blame for everything that happened to Harry. What’s more, it was his quest to find Harry that lead to Tony disappearing in the first place, so Mercedes is inadvertently responsible for all the heartache Diane’s endured over the last couple of months.
Actress Alex Fletcher said: ‘Diane’s motive for shooting Mercedes is becauseMercedes let her step-son, Harry take the blame for running over Grace, when in fact that wasn’t the case at all. Nobody wanted to come to Harry’s funeral because of that, because they thought he was such a bad person. Tony went missing because he was trying to find Harry and now obviously he’s disappeared, so Diane blames Mercedes for pretty much everything, for the mess that her life’s in at the moment.’
Joel Dexter

Hollyoaks’ resident vicar has been keeping Mercedes’ big secret for the past couple of weeks, so when the truth outs, he’ll no doubt be shunned by villagers for failing to notify anyone about the truth. If this does prove to be the case, could Joel perhaps seek revenge?
Actor Rory Douglas-Speed said: ‘Joel has a couple of motives: in the weeks previous hefinds Mercedes’ confession that she ran over Grace andhe thinks that Mercedes has also killed Harry. He gets beaten up by Liam and Mercedes then threatens to kill Joel and hurt her own cousin, Goldie who Joel’s besotted by, if he spills the beans, so that’s the first motive.’
The second bit is that she embarrasses him in front of the whole village and calls him out on his past mistakes when he’s trying to not be that kind of guy anymore. He’s a Fox at the end of the day, he’s Warren Fox’s son and thinks that this girl deserves what she gets. She’s pressing and ticking all the boxes for someone to want revenge. Bad Joel is making an appearance and we love bad Joel.’
