First diagnosed in 2018, she initially seemed to respond to treatment, but she eventually opted for holistic treatment after she began to fear that chemotherapy would harm her then-unborn son Bertie.
Then, on her wedding day of all days, she learned that the cancer had spread to her liver and lymph nodes, and that she had mere months to live.
"The first time I set eyes on you it was like I was coming home"…

Our hearts are breaking for Sinead and Daniel.#Corrie
On the subject of her Corrie character’s demise, Katie has said: ‘I kind of underestimated the effects that it’s had on my mental health. I sound silly saying it but I believe Sinead is real. I played her for six-and-a-half years. Me and Corrie created this character and I feel like she’s my friend.’
She continued: ‘Watching her die was just awful, but it’s raising awareness and I just hope that we are doing that.
‘I love this storyline because it covers so many issues. I just wanted to highlight the fact people are dying of cancer.’
When discussing her choice to leave the soap, actor Katie previously said on social media: ‘I wasn’t AXED, it was my decision to leave to pursue other opportunities…this outcome was the only way Sinead would ever leave her family & @itvcorrie behind. It was a mutual decision.’
Hunter ended up taking his mother’s gun and laying siege to the Vic in an effort to take his revenge on Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), whom Hunter blamed for his getting sent to jail.
An initial absence from Walford of 16 years, she was only supposed to be reprising her role as Mel for a year, but that ended up turned into nearly two.
Mel has said on the subject of her upcoming departure: ‘When John (Yorke) asked me to return to EastEnders back in 2017, I jumped at the chance to play Mel once more but it was only supposed to be for a year. That year quickly passed and I agreed to stay on for another, but now the time feels right to once again pursue other challenges.
‘I will of course miss so many people here at EastEnders, and I will forever have good memories of my time at the show, but I am also excited to experience new roles outside of Walford.’
Exit date: Autumn 2019
Lucy Benjamin (Lisa Fowler)
Lisa Fowler was last seen on EastEnders in 2017 and returned to the soap in early September after she discovered her daughter Louise is pregnant.
Actress Lucy has said: ‘I’m back to do a stint — without giving too much away about how long exactly I’m back for.
‘There’s more of what you would hope to come for Lisa — she always brings trouble! Always causes Phil loads of trouble.’

Exit date: Summer 2019
Rob Kazinsky (Sean Slater)
Back in April, Sean Slater briefly returned to EastEnders after being away from Walford for a decade.
During this time, the troubled Sean was seen repairing his relationship with his mother Jean (Gillian Wright) as she battled cancer.
On the subject of another possible return, Kazinsky told Metro.co.uk: ‘I said to Kate when we were talking that we should presume I am never coming back. Let’s answer all the questions and give him an ending and give the audience an ending they didn’t get 10 years ago. Let’s leave them satisfied.’
Rana’s tragic death aired earlier this year and plenty of us still haven’t recovered.
Rana ended up trapped under the collapsed factory roof on the day she was supposed to marry Kate Connor, and sadly didn’t make it out alive.
Exit date: March 2019
Faye Brookes (Kate Connor)
Kate Connor has had it pretty rough, what with her true love Rana Habeeb dying on what was supposed to be their wedding day.
Not long after the tragic episode aired, actress Faye Brookes announced her exit from the soap on Twitter, writing: ‘Thanks to everyone for your amazing support, but after 4 fabulous years in Weatherfield it’s time for me to explore new opportunities, I’ve loved playing Kate Connor, but she needs a break for a little while and so with a song in my heart I’m off to pastures new.’
Details as to why Connie left Corrie have been kept on the mysterious side, with a source quoted in The Sun as saying: ‘Connie is still very much part of the Corrie family but Gina’s time on the street has come to a natural end – for now.’
They added: ‘The character could return, but it won’t be as a permanent fixture and Gina won’t be living on the cobbles anymore.’
On the subject, Kym told The Sun: ‘When I was lucky enough to be offered four episodes I could never in my wildest dreams have thought I’d be here 13 years later. It’s been an incredibly difficult decision but it feels like the right time for me to explore some other roles.’
Exit date: Late summer / Autumn 2019
Tristan Gemmill (Robert Preston)
Tristan Gemmill announced in late April that he was going to be departing from the cobbles after four years on the soap to, according to his Twitter, ‘head for pastures new.’
Coronation Street spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘Tristan has done Coronation Street proud. His character Robert has been at the centre of some truly high stakes drama and some deep felt emotional stories.
‘Tristan has delivered all of this with huge aplomb and great professionalism and there is plenty more drama to come before he leaves us.’
On the subject of her exit, actress Katie previously said on This Morning: ‘I had a meeting with Kate [Oates] and said, “I think I might want to leave, I’ve been there for so long and I’ve not had that big of a story”.
‘They told me this storyline and I thought this is amazing, please do this.
‘I know it sounds very sadistic but I wanted her to die because that’s real life and life isn’t a fairytale. Loads of women are dying, so many people are affected by cancer and this storyline triggers so many emotions for so many people because it’s absolutely heartbreaking.’
In reference to her exit, Lucy said: ‘After the most incredible 4 years, I have made the extremely difficult decision to leave Coronation Street at the end of my contract in 2020. It’s hard to put into words how much this show means to me.
‘I’ve made lifelong friends with some of the most talented and hardworking people in the industry, I’ve had some terrific and immensely important storylines and I’ve laughed with the best people every day. I’m so thankful to Iain and everyone at Coronation Street, I owe everything to them and I will miss them greatly.’

Freda, however, won’t be seen again on the cobbles any time soon…

The 26-year-old is in a real-life relationship with her Hollyoaks co-star Rory Douglas-Speed, who plays her former on-screen love interest Joel Dexter.
Even though her relationship with Marlon (Mark Charnock) has bitten the dust, she Marvin revealed that producers have ‘left the door open’ for her character to possibly return to Emmerdale.

Maya’s paedophile storyline was one of the most prominent (Picture: ITV)
Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein)
The manipulative teacher groomed her student Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) from the age of 15 before being discovered having sex with him after he turned 16.
She twisted Jacob’s mind and made him believe their relationship was consensual.
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) has been faced with a series of difficult revelations this week after first finding out that his nemesis, farmhand Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) had been sleeping with his wife, then finding out that Nate was actually his son before discovering that his mother had been hiding letters from his ex-Cara for years, keeping the fact that he had another son secret from him for over two decades.
After Faith confessed to keeping Nate a secret from Cain, as well as to convincing Cara to run away before revealing that she was pregnant, both men reacted with anger.
Then, following Cain’s dramatic revelations in The WoolPack, even Chas seems annoyed her mum for keeping such a big secret for so long.
We already know that actress Sally Dexter is leaving Emmerdale because the star revealed exclusively to Metro.co.uk earlier this month that she ‘may have to leave for a little while.’
‘There’s a lot of fallout from the Moira, Cain, Nate debacle, I am probably going to be collateral,’ Sally revealed.
‘It’s going to be an explosive October. I may have to leave for a little while.’
Asked whether she could tell us more, Sally continued: ‘You’ll have to watch the show. I ain’t gonna say nothing!’
However, fans sorry to see Faith go need not fret too much, as Sally assured us that she will eventually be back on the soap and is merely taking a break from the show rather than leaving for good.
Sally will be leaving at some point, but has said she will return (Picture: ITV)
The announcement of Sally’s departure comes in the wake of exits for Ryan Hawley as Robert Sugden, Anthony Quinlan as Pete Barton and Samantha Giles as Bernice Blackstock in Emmerdale.
Will Cara arrive in Emmerdale to see Nate and Cain? (Picture: ITV)
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) hasn’t heard from Cara Robinson in Emmerdale in ‘twenty odd years’, but now that their son Nate has showed up to find his father, will Cara be the next to arrive in the Dales?
Unraveling the mystery of Nate’s parentage, Cain learnt last night that his former flame Cara is the mother of his son, Nate, and has spent years trying to contact him – unsuccessfully – by letter.
Cain remembered Cara clearly, but have we ever seen her before in the soap and could the character of Cara be joining the soap soon?
Is Cara Robinson joining Emmerdale and was she ever in the soap?
While the character of Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) has been a regular in the soap since May 2019, the character of his mum, Cara, was only introduced in last night’s episode, when Nate told Cain from his hospital bed, ‘Cara says hi.’
Cain and Cara’s relationship happened over two decades ago, long before Cain Dingle made his first appearance on Emmerdale in 2000.
As a result, Cara has never been seen on the soap before and, until now, has only been an off-screen character who has added additional context to the storyline between Cain and Nate.
But with her son in hospital and her former flame now having met their boy, will we finally get to meet the mysterious Cara Robinson and see the character on-screen soon?
Nothing has been confirmed by Coronation Street bosses at this stage, but fans certainly think that there’s scope for Cara to make an appearance and potentially even win Cain’s heart back too in the wake of his fall out with Moira.
‘If Cara comes back it may be a romance for Cain,’ one fan mused on Twitter, while another excited viewer wrote, ‘Gagging to see Cara, Cain’s real teenage sweetheart!’
If Cara will appear as a character or not in the show, only time will tell.
In a moment of desperation in recent scenes, Daniel kissed Bethany (Lucy Fallon) as his wife lay dying.
With Sinead’s death looming, it’s hard not to wonder if Daniel will end up moving on with Bethany, who’s been carrying a torch for the young father for some time…
Will Daniel and Bethany get together?
Even though Daniel crossed a line with Bethany in a moment of madness, he’ll be left utterly destroyed by the death of his wife.
He’ll soon be seen struggling to organise the funeral of his beloved, and will start to push people away, demanding to be left alone.
Later, he’ll stand up for Bethany when she’s berated by Evelyn (Maureen Lipman), but Beth (Lisa George) will overhear.
She’ll be left fuming, and when she later finds Bethany comforting Daniel as his grief overtakes him in Victoria Gardens, she’ll accuse him of having an affair with Bethany before his wife’s body is even cold.
After this, and all the trauma of losing his wife, Daniel will decide to take his son and leave the Cobbles for a spell.
Even though Adam (Sam Robertson) and Peter (Chris Gascoyne) will have misgivings, Daniel will remain determined that some time away in Scotland is the best thing for him and Bertie.
Bethany will be left carrying that torch until Daniel’s eventual return, whenever that might be.
Gail is returning to the cobbles tonight (Picture: ITV)
Gail Rodwell (Helen Worth) returns to Corrie tonight, full of resolve to get her family ‘back on track.’
That may not be an easy task given she’ll have to support Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) who has found herself alone while David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) is in prison.
It’s safe to say a lot has gone down since Gail left the soap earlier this year.
Just how long has the Platt family mainstay been away from Corrie, and where was she? We take a look.
Where has Gail been and when did she leave Coronation Street?
Gail left after discovering her sons had been fleecing money from Audrey (Picture: ITV)
Gail left the street on 8 July 2019, which coincidentally, fell just short of her 45 year anniversary on the show.
Exasperated with ongoing family drama, she did what any sensible person would do, and booked a one-way ticket to Thailand.
The straw that broke the camel’s back for her was the discovery that David and Nick had stolen cash from their gran – and Gail’s mother – Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls).
Will she come back with her chakras renewed and a refreshed outlook?
Only time will tell…
Why did actress Helen Worth take a break from Coronation Street?
Helen took a well-deserved summer break this year (Picture: David Parry/PA Wire)
Gail was always due to come back and her departure was scheduled around actress Helen’s well-deserved summer break.
Back in August, Helen refused to speculate on whether or not she’d be returning.
When asked on Good Morning Britain if Gail was coming back to the cobbles, Helen said: ‘Well, errr, uhmm, I am still here and I am alive and well! I’m in Thailand. Everyone knows that.
‘I have been fortunate to hang on this long. I am limping third behind. Happily.’
Helen was referring to the fact that she is currently the third longest-serving Corrie cast member, overtaken only by Ken Barlow (William Roache) and Barbara Knox (Rita Fairclough).
Coronation Street airs a special hour-long episode on ITV, tonight at 7:30pm
Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter) dropped a pretty huge bombshell in Emmerdale earlier this week when she revealed that Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) was telling the truth and that he really is Cain’s (Jeff Hordley) son. Tonight, the Dingle matriarch attempted to explain her actions — but Cain wasn’t interested and, as a result, she ended up departing the village in emotional scenes.
After informing Cain that she believed Moira (Natalie J Robb) to be having an affair, Cain set off to seek revenge. However, upon discovering that her daughter-in-law had been sleeping with Nate — and not Pete (Anthony Quinlan) like she initially believed — it became apparent that Faith knew more than she was letting on.
As Cain sought revenge on the young man, he was devastated to learn that Nate was his son, and Faith later confirmed that he was telling the truth. It subsequently came to light that she had intercepted all contact from Nate’s mum Cara — which is why Cain never knew of Nate’s existence.
Tonight, Faith did everything she could to explain her actions, but the Dingle hard-man wasn’t interested, and berated her over the damage she’d done. Faith hoped Chas (Lucy Pargeter) would back her up, but she stood by her brother.
Cain told Faith that either she needed to leave the village or he would, and — unwilling to cause any more disruption to her son’s life — Faith agreed to leave.
At the hospital, Nate wanted nothing to do with her either, so after a heart-to-heart with Eric (Chris Chittell), Faith resolved to move on from the Dales — for now.
Chas, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and baby Eve bid adieu to Faith — as did Sarah (Katie Hill) — before the Dingle matriarch got into a black cab, which headed out of the village.
Faith explained to the cab driver that she’s unsure of where she’s headed, but she’ll decide on the way.
Actress Sally confirmed that she’d be leaving Emmerdale earlier this month, and as of yet it’s unknown if she’ll be back. However, Faith has plenty of reasons to return to the village, so let’s hope we haven’t seen the last of the iconic character.
Emmerdale continues Monday 28thOctober at 7pm on ITV.
Tensions have escalated between the pair (Picture: BBC)
No-one messes with Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), as Martin Fowler (James Bye) is set to find out in tonight’s EastEnders.
Martin will be left for dead this evening after Ben finally snaps and enacts revenge on him for setting him up.
Ben and Martin have a complicated and acrimonious past, but where did it all start again, and could Ben really have overdone it this time?
We take a look.
Ben was previously forcing Martin to do dodgy money laundering deals in return for him keeping silent about Martin’s wife, Stacey Fowler’s (Lacey Turner) attack on Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
Ben kept the incriminating wrench with Stacey’s DNA on it as evidence and as a blackmailing tool.
You don’t want to mess with this face (Picture: BBC)
Getting sick of Ben coercing him into doing his debt collection jobs, Martin laid a trap for him in last night’s show, which saw him get arrested on the spot.
Martin seemed unfazed by his threats, calling him a ‘coward.’
He may well regret this, judging by what’s about to go down in tonight’s episode.
Earlier this month, Max hinted to Metro.co.uk that Max’s dramatic storyline won’t end here and that this season is going to be a drama-packed one for the character.
He said: ‘The Panesars have come in now, so that drama there is definitely going to unfold. They’re brave, they’re boisterous, they’re going to give Ben a run for his money.’
‘With Ben, it’s 100 miles per hour all the time. At the moment, things are starting to take off again, things are nice with Ballum. ‘Martin’s just come back to the Square which is leverage for Ben to create this whole new drama.’
But what about Martin? Is this the end for him? Time will tell…
As Ken Barlow (William Roache) pointed out in one of the human scenes of family conversation and reflection that Coronation Street does so well, death is something we are all afraid to talk about.
But the painfully raw and honest writing and performances around Sinead’s (Katie McGlynn) death after a battle with cancer, coupled with the harrowing grief of her broken husband Daniel (Rob Mallard), has forced us all to confront the subject head on – while making our way through floods of tears in the process.
It has been impossible not to put ourselves in the positions of Sinead, a young woman who recently got the beautiful family she wanted and deserved, only to have it torn apart and replaced with fear, uncertainty and the emptiness of knowing she won’t see her baby boy grow up.
Or the position of Daniel, trying to stay strong but making mistakes as he tries to hold it together while watching his soulmate fade away, robbed of precious years and decades of family joy, hardships and journeys and faced with a future of uncertainty and loss.
Or indeed the position of the relatives around them, somewhere we have all been – after all, is there anyone watching who hasn’t endured the loss of someone they love.
(Picture: ITV)
Taken too soon, Sinead’s story was more than a poignant lesson that cervical smears have never been more vital – although it was a strong and important message to get across. This was a character based storyline of a young couple, a family and community all dealing with the reality of what we all must face – but for Sinead, she was facing it all too soon.
Coronation Street have taken their time with this. We have watched the relationship of Sinead and Daniel grow from something viewers who still thought she was best placed with Chesney, could engage with and believe in.
And longer than that, we have enjoyed Sinead as the ditzy, quirky, uniquely stylish, fun loving, old before her time, streetwise yet naive but selfless and caring character. Characters come and go in soaps all the time – especially a soap that’s nearing the age of 60. But Sinead is a fairly unusual character for soap and one that could easily have been a staple of the show and later become one of their old guard when the century anniversary comes along.
The death of Sinead has not been rushed, nor was the decision that she should even be killed off by all accounts. It’s a story that has grown organically and sought to be human and mostly grounded in reality. And a very harsh reality – no more so when she was forced to make the horrific choice of whether to go through with her pregnancy.
Despite the story being almost two years on screen since Sinead started to become unwell, the ending suddenly feels it has come from nowhere – and isn’t that just the very nature of death? Even when we see it coming, nothing can prepare us for how heavy it is.
And Corrie weren’t pulling the punches with the last episodes, which had a raw and gritty feel to them. Throughout the scenes in the wake of Sinead’s terminal diagnosis, there has been humour, laughter and hope through the gloom.
But as it ended, there was little joy to be had as Sinead clung to the last wisps of her young life, not ready to leave her family and dreading the prospect of Bertie not remembering her.
She gave an outstandingingly delivered and written piece to a recorded video for Bertie where she passed all of her own values of being kind onto her son – and it’s a video I hope to see the show revisit as Bertie grows up as it’s a mantra that has never been more relevant and will continue to be so.
It’s very unusual for a soap to have such a long scene of one character simply delivering dialogue. Almost the entire first half of an episode was Katie McGlynn lying in bedand speaking to a webcam. But it was one of the soap’s most captivating scenes of all time.
In every living room across the country, you would be able to hear a pin drop as viewers hung onto every word, their forkful of dinner half way to their mouth and their eyes gathering tears. In the age of our busy lives, catch up, Netflix – for a mainstream channel to be able to do that live is an achievement. And it only got more emotional from there.
The guilt of Sinead’s mum was surprisingly touching and the effects of Sinead drifting between sleep and seeing her day disjointed was realistic and impactful. There was no drawn out dramatic death scene or implication that Sinead was not suffering, struggling or feeling afraid. Katie performed the subtle attributes of the physical acting so well – with harboured breathing and tired fatigue. This story should be the making of Katie – who deserves a bright future in the acting world.
(Picture: ITV)
And both she and Rob delivered some of the most heartwrenching scenes I have seen on television in those final moments as they went over memories, and he begged her to stay just a bit longer. She passed away peacefully but the whole community was impacted.
Like in the episode following Aidan’s death, this sent ripples through the whole of Coronation Street. Scenes in the Barlow household reflecting on the death of characters such as Alma, Hayley and Mike were deeply moving and very toned down, without hysteria or sensationalism.
The gathering in the pub of everyone supporting one another and remembering Sinead were also very touching – and it can’t be forgotten about how much it must have hit Chesney too as he sat numbly throughout. This was a woman he had loved for years and probably always will, let’s not forget.
Coronation Street dealt with the most human and relatable of stories with honesty, a little bit of brutality but also with care, consideration and laced it with human flaws and vulnerabilities.
And every one of us were sitting in bits as they played out, episodes for the show’s history books, as we held onto those we love just that little bit tighter and remembered to phone or messaged those we don’t speak to nearly enough.
This death may have been fictional, but the reality of it is not – and not one viewer could have failed to have been moved or impacted in their own way by it.
Robbo (Jake Ryan) and Jasmine’s (Sam Frost) worlds have fallen apart since word reached the AFP that Robbo’s enemies from the past are back in the picture, but now the situation has reached devastating levels as Jasmine has been kidnapped.
Intercepted on her way to the airport with Scott (Trent Baines), Jasmine has been bundled into the back of a car while Scott lay bleeding from a gunshot wound in the middle of the road. While Scott is rushed to hospital and his life hangs on by a thread, Robbo becomes distraught and desperate to find information on Jasmine.
He turns to drink and starts frequenting Salt, ignoring Colby’s (Tim Franklin) efforts to intervene. Eventually, it’s Justin (James Stewart) who steps in, apologising for giving him a hard time about Tori (Penny McNamee) and thanking him for putting her in protective custody, as at least she’s safe. These words inspire Robbo to return to the investigation, where Colby has used traffic camera footage to spot the kidnappers’ car heading towards Reefton Lakes.
Des has an ultimatum for Jasmine (Picture: Channel 5)
Robbo’s frustration levels intensify the longer he hears nothing from the kidnappers, wondering why they’ve taken his wife without making any demands. Colby tells him to keep his cool, as they need to approach the situation calmly to have the best chance of finding Jasmine.
Meanwhile, Jasmine is being held hostage in an abandoned warehouse by Des (Matt Zeremes) and his two cronies, Lenny and Fitz. Lenny was shot during the kidnapping and urgently needs medical help. Jasmine tells Des that Lenny needs to go to a hospital or he will die.
Refusing the hospital route, Des tells Jasmine she either needs to fix Lenny or he will put him out of his misery. Thinking fast, Jasmine agrees to try, but asks Fitz to go out first for some very specific medical supplies in the hope Robbo’s memory will be triggered…
Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) has had Martin Fowler (James Bye) at his beck-and-call in EastEnders of late, but he was none too pleased with the fruit-and-veg stall holder after he set him up. Martin believed his nightmare to be over, but little did he know it was only just beginning, as Ben set about seeking retribution and, while doing so, reminded Martin of who’s boss.
The pair orchestrated a plan, and Ben was caught in the act and subsequently arrested for his illegal money-lending activities. Martin later informed Ben that this was the end of their alliance, before calling the Mitchell lad a coward.
It was clear that Ben wasn’t going to let him away with such a betrayal and tonight he set about seeking revenge. With Tubbs having been released from jail, Ben orchestrated a plan to put Martin in his place, and thus they waited in the Square — hoping for the Fowler legend to make an appearance.
(Picture: BBC)
Meanwhile, Martin was partaking in a movie marathon with Bex (Jasmine Armfield) in an attempt to make up for how he’s neglected her as of late. However, when the ice-cream ran out, Martin resolved to make a trip and stock up on the goods.
While on his way back, he was ambushed and beaten. Later, he found himself hanging upside down from the railway bridge — the very same bridge where he took a much younger Ben all those years ago. The thugs pulled him back up — just as a train rushed by, and they held his face within inches of the speeding machine.
After the train passed, Martin set his sights on Ben, who possessed that sweet look of revenge in his eyes — while wearing that dashing new coat of his. He informed Martin that he will continue to do his bidding for him, but when Martin refused to do so, Tubbs and his mates hung him from the bridge once more, as Ben threatened Stacey (Lacey Turner) and their children.
A devastated Martin returned home and broke down while looking at Bex — having no clue as to how he’s going to get himself out of this situation.
Will Martin do as Ben asks?
What’s more, Ben’s darker side has well and truly come to light — but is he too far gone for redemption? Is anyone capable of bringing him back from the dark side?Callum (Tony Clay) perhaps? The two passionately kissed after Ben’s antics on the bridge, and it was clear in this scene just how much Ben cares for him.
Mum Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) is certainly an option too, or perhaps returnee Pam Coker (Lin Blakley) will have what it takes to get through to him?
EastEnders continues on Monday 28thOctober at 8pm on BBC One.
Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) world came crashing down in Emmerdale earlier this week when he discovered that wife Moira (Natalie J Robb) had been sleeping with farmhand Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) — and matters became much more complicated when he later learned that Nate was his son. With everything having fallen apart, and his marriage to Moira on the rocks, he’s set to make a big decision — and it’s one that involves Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson).
After Faith (Sally Dexter) informed him that Moira had been having an affair, Cain set about seeking revenge, and discovered that the mystery man his wife had been sleeping with was farmhand Nate. However, before he could carry out his revenge, Cain was stunned when Nate revealed himself to be his long-lost son.
Faith later confirmed Nate’s claims, revealing that she knew that Cain’s ex, Cara Robinson, was pregnant, and kept it from him many years ago. Cain struggled to process this news, and disowned his mum as a result, before making Moira’s affair public knowledge by revealing it in the Woolpack — a revelation which left Amy horrified.
Since then, Moira has attempted to save her marriage, but Cain’s simply not interested and she’s left further upset when he makes a decision in the coming episodes.
Amy suggests that getting away for a few days could do Cain the world of good, and thus she asks him to come away with her and Kyle. Cain’s not so sure at first, but eventually he agrees to do so — much to Moira’s dismay. However, when Moira voices her opinions, Cain removes his wedding ring.
Is this really the end of Cain and Moira’s marriage?
The removal of one’s wedding ring speaks volumes, that’s for sure, and Cain’s actions certainly seem to suggest he’s no intention of getting his marriage back on track any time soon.
What’s more, Amy has made her opinion on Moira’s actions known, so is she simply being nice to Cain or does she have an ulterior motive?
Either way, Moira will no doubt be devastated at Cain’s decision to leave.
Emmerdale continues on Monday 28thOctober at 7pm on ITV.
Last we saw Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) in EastEnders she was exiting Walford in a black cab after hitting Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) over the head with a wrench, but the character is set to make a surprise appearance in the coming episodes, when Martin (James Bye) arranges to meet her in secret.
Ever since he returned to Walford, Martin has been taking part in all sorts of dodgy activities courtesy of his new alliance with Ben (Max Bowden) — an arrangement that only came about because Ben had told Martin that — if he helped him — then he’d dispose of the wrench Stacey used in hitting Phil, and thus allow her to return to the Square.
While Martin managed to acquire the wrench, Ben had filmed him illegally acquiring a car, and has since used this to blackmail the fruit-and-veg stall holder into doing his bidding — and recently, he went to extreme lengths to prove just how serious he is, as he threatened to hurt Martin’s family if he refuses to comply.
In the coming episodes, Martin continues to be at Ben’s beck and call, as he fears for his family’s safety as a result of his latest altercation with the Mitchell lad, so — due to Stacey being unable to return home — he decides to meet with her in secret.
However, when he arrives at this meeting, Stacey is horrified to see the extent of his injuries and proceeds to question what’s going on.
Martin does his best to cover — and keeps the truth from her once more — but Stacey knows something’s awry, and thus she threatens to go to Walford to find out for herself.

Knowing that this is simply not an option after recent events, Martin resorts to extreme measures to keep Stacey safe.
The question is: what exactly is it that he does?
One to watch: Monday 28th October at 8pm on BBC One.
On the subject of Sinead’s death, actor Katie has said: ‘I kind of underestimated the effects that it’s had on my mental health.
Speaking about filming the devastating last scenes with Katie, Rob Mallard explained: ‘We spent two weeks in the bedroom set that was built. Eventually we had such emotional attachment in that room, when you were in there you were immediately back where you left it before. It wasn’t difficult to get into, if anything it was difficult to not just cry, it all felt very real.
‘Trying to play against that was hard, it’s not hard to think of something to get you to cry.’
Coronation Street is next on Monday 28 October at 7:30pm on ITV.
A day that starts out fairly well for Rash (Neet Mohan) in tonight’s Casualty soon turns sour when he gets on the wrong side of Ethan (George Rainsford) as soon as he arrives at work. When Ethan unfairly has a go at Rash later, Rash does something you’d have to describe as… rash. Has he waved the CT1 position goodbye?
Elsewhere, Rosa (Jacey Salles) is too preoccupied to listen to Ollie (Harry Collett)’s problems so he vents them elsewhere which results in a trip to the ED – again. David (Jason Durr) discovers the reason Rosa is so distracted – and it looks like a love letter! Here are all the spoilers to watch out for.
1. The episode opens with Rash riding to work on his precious bike that he’s just got back from Mason (Victor Oshin). How happy he looks as he zips along the highways and byways of Holby on his way to another day of saving lives. You just know that much happiness can’t last…
2. David is a little bit disturbed to see a piece of paper belonging to Rosa with her name and his – and love hearts. Is she secretly in love with him? The truth is much sadder as Rosa opens up about a tragedy in her life.
Being late for work isn’t the worst of his problems (Picture: BBC)
3. It’s Duffy (Cathy Shipton)’s first day working in the department as a volunteer, but Robyn (Amanda Henderson) is concerned that it might be too much for Duffy when she spots her looking tired. An anxious Charlie (Derek Thompson) talks to Robyn about his frustration that his wife isn’t getting the help she needs.
4. The main patient story starts with a man asleep in bed and another man standing at the foot of the bed wielding a sledgehammer. Anyone who’s seen the film ‘Misery’ will be a bit tense about what might happen next.
5. David’s son Ollie is back at the ED yet again – but this time he’s injured someone else. As an unhappy Ollie confides in Rosa, will David realise how important she is to his family?

6. Marty (Shaheen Jafargholi) helps a patient to decide what’s important, while Mason uncovers a secret another patient has been hiding.
7. Being in love with Effie is clearly not improving Ethan’s mood, especially as he’s still avoiding her calls after being warned off by her father last week. He’s in a particularly bad mood with Rash, being critical of him but not helpful when Rash raises concerns with him. Eventually the tension between the two of them erupts – and Rash does something he might well regret.

Christmas joy or misery
Producer Kate Brooks recently teased what we can expect from Christmas and, as ever, it sounds like a mix of fun, romance and heartbreak for the villagers. But who will get their Christmas cracker, and who will have a silent night?
Kate said: ‘We have a few tricks up our sleeves with some twists and turns. On Christmas Day, a lot of secrets will be unpacked and families thrown into disarray. People think they get the Christmas they wanted – but it might not turn out that way.
‘It’s very family-centric, big on drama with explosive revelations, relationships unraveling, and people getting together. There is a lot going on! We have a lot going on with the Dingles – and Home Farm is one that you should keep your eye on. You can’t have Kim Tate as the mother of that big house without drama!’
Plus!
Charity and Vanessa will be forced to deal with further trouble as Sarah continues to hang out with Danny.
Jacob and Leanna share a kiss – but is there any future for them?
Can Chas and Paddy adapt to parenthood?

Jade (Lottie Henshall) has wasted little time in getting her feet under the table in Coronation Street, and — in the coming episodes — she spies yet another opportunity to take control of the situation and use it to her advantage. The question is: with Fiz Stape (Jennie McApline) temporarily out of the way, is Jade out to seduce Tyrone (Alan Halshall)?
Fiz is horrified when — after receiving a call — she learns that her mum’s had an accident. With her only having been back on the cobbles a short while, she’s worried about the prospect of having to up sticks and leave once more — especially when Hope desperately needs her.
However — never missing an opportunity to take advantage — Jade insists that Fiz should go and tend to her mum, and that she’ll be more than happy to care for the kids in her absence.
However, Fiz still isn’t convinced, and she opens up to Jade about how she suspects that Hope was responsible for the recent factory fire — something that, if true, would prove that the young girl is back up to her old tricks again.
It’s takes some work, but Jade successfully manages to persuade Fiz that it’s her duty to go and look after her mum, before commenting that Hope will be in safe hands with both her and Tyrone.
With Fiz out of the picture, Jade sets about cooking a meal for both Tyrone and Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) and — afterwards — she hands Tyrone a present. It’s a dartboard, and he’s chuffed as a result.
Is Jade planning on getting her claws into Tyrone?
It would certainly seem that way.

But husband Scott Mitchell revealed the 82-year-old is battling to keep hold of her humour.
Speaking about her condition, he said: ‘The thing that we know about dementia and Alzheimer’s is that it’s a progressive illness, so you know you’re heading in one direction.
‘So, yes, things progress but she still has that wonderful sense of humour, she can still laugh and have a giggle and watch telly, and we go out occasionally.
‘Whenever we get an invitation what I say is let’s say yes but I will let you know on the day if we’re going to be there or not, and it’s totally dependent on how Barbara is.
Scott revealed Barbara still has her ‘wonderful sense of humour’ (Picture: Getty)
‘We have the odd days out, we went to Downing Street and she was shouting at all the photographers and told them to behave themselves.’
And he is ‘thrilled’ at the response to Barbara’s illness, and the impact she has had on other sufferers.
‘I’m surprised, and I’m just thrilled that it’s had that kind of impact,’ he added to BangShowbiz. ‘Because that wasn’t the reason we went public, we went public because I couldn’t hide it any longer from people.
‘Because Barbara always gets people coming up to her and it was beginning to be quite obvious.’
Barbara Windsor’s husband opened up about life as a carer (Picture: GC Images)
Barbara was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2014, and has rarely made public appearances since the news was revealed.
In a chat with Metro.co.uk, he told us: ‘I think as a carer you learn to adapt to a different way of life, that’s what you do.
‘I do have carers who come in, which means I can go and do my work and I can do whatever I need to do – whether that’s going for lunch, go and meet friends for a coffee, go and do some shopping.
‘It’s essential for people caring for someone to get that little bit of respite.
‘I found that very difficult to do at first. I felt very guilty about it, I felt like I shouldn’t be leaving her.’
