Spoilers ahead!
Here’s what’s happening on Ramsay Street (Picture: Channel 5)

There’s electricity of all sorts shooting round this week in Neighbours, with shocks galore for the Ramsay Street lot.

Scarlett Brady (Christie Whelan Browne) wants what she can’t have, but that doesn’t mean that she won’t stop at nothing to get it. Sadly though, Bea Nilsson (Bonnie Anderson) gets caught in the crossfire when Scarlett’s deadly plan sends electric volts through innocent bystander Bea. Could Scarlett murder to get the man of her dreams?

Mackenzie (Georgie Stone) is in for a shock of another kind when Shane Rebecchi (Nicholas Coghlan) finally admits the truth.

David Tanaka (Takaya Honda) is also hit with a bolt – of realisation – when it appears he’s stumbled on Shaun’s (Brad Moller) true plans for Elly’s (Jodi Anasta) baby.

And can anyone shock Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor) out of his dangerous downwards spiral?

Here’s what’s ahead in Neighbours this week.

1. Death fears for Bea over Scarlett’s deadly stunt

Bea faces death after Scarlett's stunt
Bea’s in for a nasty shock (Picture: Channel 5)

By now we’ve realised Scarlett is a bit unhinged, but it looks like she has been hugely underestimated. She wants Ned, and she’s prepared to do anything to get him, and ultimately puts Bea’s life in huge danger to do so.

Still plotting a way to come between Ned and Yashvi, Scarlett hits on the idea of playing on his feelings for Bea to cause a rift. Just before Bea’s gig at the Waterhole, Scarlett tampers with her equipment, exposing the wires at the end of the mic. As Bea goes to plug them into the amp disaster strikes as a huge bolt of electricity is sent through her body. Her hand is fused to the mic by the current and Ned is forced to step in to save her life. Will he manage to in time?

2. Mackenzie faces the aftermath of Shane’s shock truth

Mackenzie faces a huge shock
Shane blindsides Mackenzie with the truth (Picture: Channel 5)

Mackenzie is left devastated by Shane’s shocking revelation and when Yashvi proves to be too self-absorbed to help, Mackenzie is left feeling totally alone. Dipi manages to track her down in the Butterfly Park and tries to make amends, assuring her Shane isn’t the same person he was back in Bourke. Shane also isn’t coping in the wake of things, and when Yashvi gives him a serve, he breaks down in shame. Elly tries to comfort him and sends him home, where Dipi tells him Mackenzie just can’t forgive.

3. Shaun’s plans to steal Elly’s baby?

Elly is horrified when she learns about Bea’s condition, but Shaun is there right by her side. After a chat with Susan he is prompted to ask Elly how she feels about a relationship, but Elly is thrown and insists their relationship should remain platonic. She tells David and Aaron, and David is left very suspicious of Finn’s brother. He has a snoop through Shaun’s things where he finds something that makes his blood run cold – a custody contract. Is Shaun planning to steal Elly’s baby?

4. Mark faces alcohol addiction battle

Mark is on a downwards spiral
Mark is heading on a dark path (Picture: Channel 5)

Mark is continuing on his downwards spiral of self-loathing and self-sabotage. After giving Roxy a hard time for being to extrovert, he’s shocked when she turns up for their wine tasting in a very conservative outfit. She wants to prove she can be sophisticated and toned down. But Mark isn’t interested, he’s more concerned with drowning his sorrows. And when he has one too many he snaps at Roxy, telling her he’s done with what ever it is they are.

5. Hendrix faces a challenge

Pierce has been struggling to parent his wayward son, so he comes up with a plan. He challenges Hendrix that if he can get himself a job he will be allowed to leave school. Hendrix goes for it, but fails all the job interviews he sets up. So Susan suggests he take an exam to establish his academic abilities. But Hendrix chokes and is unable to finish, causing Susan to realise he’s in for some hard work to survive year 12. But she offers him a place at the school anyway. When Pierce breaks the news Hendrix explodes – he’s disgusted at having to attend a public school.

6. Scarlett’s plan works

As everyone tentatively waits to see if Bea will pull through, Scarlett fills Yashvi in on what happened, giving her an alternate version of the truth. Yashvi confronts Ned over his supposed behaviour with Bea, but her timing is so off it works totally against her. Ned has had enough, and breaks it off with Yashvi. Scarlett is slowly but surely getting what she wants, and she doesn’t care who she has to hurt along the way.

Scenes air from Monday 30th September at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.

Martin and Kush fight in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

Martin Fowler (James Bye) was last seen in EastEnders getting into a black cab with Stacey (Lacey Turner) following his wife’s attack on Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in The Arches. However, with daughter Bex (Jasmine Armfield) unable to cope, she attempts to take her own life in the coming episodes, but will Martin make a return to the Square as a result?

Bex has been under an immense amount of stress over the past couple of months, and with mum Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) determined to see her off to Uni in style with a surprise party, she finds herself overwhelmed once more.

After making a speech at her going-away party, she returns home and, with the stress of everything that she’s had to deal with weighing on her — not to mention her fear of leaving Walford — she finds herself unable to cope, and — unbeknown to those enjoying themselves at the party — she’s planning to take her own life.

The following day, Sonia finds Bex unresponsive in bed. The paramedics soon arrive and take the young woman to hospital — but will it be too late?

Later, Sonia blames herself for everything that’s transpired, but Max (Jake Wood) does his best to reassure her otherwise. He questions if Martin is aware of what’s happened, but Sonia admits that she’s furious with him for not having answered her calls.

Meanwhile, the Slaters remind Kush of how dangerous Walford is for Martin at this very moment in time, but Kush remains adamant that Martin needs to know what’s happened.

Will Sonia or Kush attempt to get in touch with Martin? If so, will he return to the Square?

One to watch: Friday 4th October at 8pm on BBC One.

Asha and Dev in Coronation Street
(Picture: ITV)

Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) in Coronation Street is currently going through a very difficult time. Since returning from India with her dad Dev (Jimmi Harkishin), she has become obsessed with lightening her skin using a cream she bought in India. Whilst her friend Amy (Elle Mulvaney) has already discovered what she’s doing, Dev is still concerned and worried about his daughter.

In the hope it’ll solve what’s wrong with Asha, upcoming episodes see Dev sit her down and give her a talk about sex and boys! Oh Dev, I think we already know how this is going to go!

Asha begs Dev for some extra pocket money but he tells her it’s time she earned her money. Dragging a reluctant Asha into the kebab shop, Dev tells Cathy (Melanie Hill) that Asha will be doing some shifts.

Asha starts work in the kebab shop and when Amy calls in with a lad from school called Riley, who asks to meet her after rehearsals, Asha’s smitten. Desperate to buy some more skin lightening cream, Asha steals Dev’s bank card and orders some on the internet.

Dev is concerned when he receives a text from Asha telling him she’s got a date with a boy after school. Asha is mortified when Dev and Mary (Patti Clare) sit her down for a chat about sex and boys.

With this chat no doubt going negatively, will Asha realise how worried Dev is about her and prompt her to tell him everything?

Robert and Aaron in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Emmerdale has confirmed the dramatic exit storyline ahead for Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) as he realises he has no choice but to flee the village if he wants to avoid a hefty prison sentence – but will his husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) go with him?

After attacking rapist Lee Posner and leaving him for dead, Robert was arrested and has been warned that he faces a lengthy prison sentence. He has since tried to make amends for his actions by supporting sister Victoria Barton’s (Isabel Hodgins) decision to keep the baby while also concentrating on ensuring that Aaron, Liv and Seb are financially prepared for life without him.

But the storyline is set to take another turn as Robert prepares to become a fugitive from the law and he and Aaron hatch a plan to start a new life on the run together. It’s no secret that Ryan is leaving his role as Robert in upcoming scenes and with Danny having all but confirmed Aaron’s story will continue without Robert, what will eventually tear them apart?

It’s not Robert and Aaron’s first dabble with escaping the law as Robert helped his brother Andy disappear – and luckily, he is now undercover as a gyrating ballroom dancer on Strictly. They’ll never catch him there!

Meanwhile, Aaron has also helped his good pal Adam Barton go on the run after he took the blame for the murder of Emma to protect his mum Moira. But will their latest plan be a success or end in disaster?

Whatever the outcome, it will spell the end of Robron, at least for the forseeable future and their invested fans are dreading the hard goodbye that is ahead.

But as for whether Robert escapes and claims a new life or whether he will be eating prison food for years to come, that will only be revealed on screen this October as the soap airs some hugely dramatic episodes.

Raffy and Marilyn
Marilyn has suggestions to help with Raffy’s epilepsy (Picture: Channel 5)

Raffy’s (Olivia Deeble) health has taken a turn for the worse since her CBD trial got cancelled due to lack of funding. Despite having Mason (Orpheus Pledger), Justin (James Stewart), John (Shane Withington) and Marilyn (Emily Symons) on side to help her find another solution, it’s clear that the only option which has been working to manage her epilepsy is the CBD oil – which she no longer has access to.

Mason goes to speak with Raffy about his latest efforts to find Raffy another trial. Raffy isn’t optimistic about her chances of finding another one, let alone getting onto it, but Mason is determined to keep trying until he gets a lead.

Meanwhile, Marilyn explains how she’s been doing her own research and believes taking a holistic approach, with meditation, acupuncture and so on could be a solution. However, Justin soon puts down her suggestion, turning to Mason to back him up. Mason remains more open minded about the approach, reminding them that modern medicine clearly hasn’t worked for Raffy.

Dr Alex has a secret to reveal to Raffy (Picture: Channel 5)

Justin (James Stewart) has rushed out into the water to save Raffy (Olivia Deeble), who went out on her own and had begun to drown. Mason (Orpheus Pledger) and John (Shane Withington) help to pull her to shore and put her in the recovery position, where she begins to cough up water.

They take her to hospital, where Dr Alex (Zoe Ventoura) asks her what happened. However, Raffy isn’t able to say anything for herself as Justin, John, Marilyn and Mason interject and answer everything for her. Alex asks for a moment alone with Raffy and tries to figure out what led her to go into the water alone. Raffy explains that she just wants to feel normal again, and Mason runs Alex through Raffy’s medical history. He says that the cannabis trial was really working for her, but now it’s gone.

Alex gives Raffy the all-clear to return home after an x-ray reveals there’s no fluid in her lungs, but is concerned about her mental state. The Morgans, John and Marilyn tell her that Raffy feels the epilepsy is taking over her life. However, when Raffy is discharged, Alex suggests that they should stop mollycoddling her and let her make her own decisions.

He has spent weeks threatening Bianca (Patsy Palmer) to try and prove his father’s innocence.

Could Leo be targeting Whitney as a means to this twisted end?

After her near-marriage to Callum, one would think that poor Whitney has been through more than enough for one year…

EastEnders’ Lacey Turner and James Bye have proved they’re best friends, on and off the square.

And it looks like they’re making sure their kids end up just as close.

Lacey, who plays Stacey Fowler on the BBC soap, shared a snap of the moment her newborn daughter Dusty met James’ son Hugo for the first time.

Alongside the adorable moment – posted on her Instagram story – the 31-year-old added the sticker: ‘Did we just become best friends?’

Honestly, we may as well give up now as this is the cutest thing on social media.

The actress welcomed baby Dusty with husband Matt Kay back in July, two years after they tied the knot.

While James – who stars as Martin Fowler – introduced third child Hugo with wife Victoria back in February.

The pair have been missing from our screens recently, after their characters were forced to go on the run when Stacey whacked Phil over the head in the Arches.

Which isn’t ideal.

It was recently revealed Lacey will be making a brief comeback, with onscreen mum Jean’s cancer treatment storyline coming to the fore once more.

The youngster has been under a lot of pressure over the last few months, with her exams and university future on the line.

Things come to a head when mum Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) throws her a going away party ahead of her Oxford stint, with Bex leaving the party early after feeling overwhelmed once more.

Unbeknown to anyone at the bash, she plans to take her own life, with Sonia finding her unresponsive in bed the next day.

However, with the nurse blaming herself for what happened, and the family falling apart will Martin return to Walford?

Casualty review with spoilers: Ollie and David clash, and so do Rash and Mason. Again

$

Ruby in Casualty
Ruby’s stopped sneezing! (Picture: BBC)

Casualty introduced some of us to a new word tonight, via David (Jason Durr) and his son Ollie (Harry Collett) playing Scrabble. Ollie was pleased with his word ‘frimp.’ David didn’t think it was a real word. This is the problem with inter-generational Scrabble and it ended in an argument and little plastic tiles everywhere.

Ollie and Rosa (Jacey Salles) became friends during his time in hospital and he’d invited her over to play board games with him and his dad (without David knowing). But when David had to go to work, Rosa and Ollie went out for a walk instead. In the park they met two of the patients o’ the week as Rosa got run over by a woman on a scooter.

Rosa sustained a little cut to her head, the woman on the scooter, Kerry, broke her wrist – but almost inevitably it was someone who didn’t seem hurt to begin with who ended up in the most bother. Kerry’s partner Nick started having chest pains in the ambulance and that was just the start of a complicated and in the end quite touching story that involved Kerry being pregnant and then finding out that Nick was still married to a severely disabled wife. And that Nick also had a leg-threatening blood clot. The highlight of this story for me was when Kerry, in a temper, attempted to slam the cubicle curtains on her way out.

Meanwhile, Ollie was able to confide in Rosa about David’s bipolar and whether he’s inherited it. He also cunningly arranged for Rosa to move in with him and David, as she was about to be evicted. Rosa isn’t the only new member of the Hide household, either – they’ve also acquired a new kitten called Frimp (which has all sorts of meanings according to Google – not all of them entirely pleasant but some of them very apt for a kitten).

Ruby in Casualty
Ruby’s stopped sneezing! (Picture: BBC)

The kitten had been brought to the ambulance station by new paramedic Lev (Uriel Emil). He’d caught a drug dealer trying to put a bag of kittens in a wheelie bin, which meant Jan (Di Botcher)’s first sight of him was as he was apparently beating someone up in the street and Ruby (Maddy Hill)’s was through a haze of tears because she’s allergic to cats. That’s certainly a way to make an impression on your new colleagues.

A man who would tenderly tuck a kitten inside his jacket has obviously already labelled himself as sweet and compassionate, but Lev also showed these traits with patient Nick’s disabled wife, taking a moment to reassure her before packing Nick into the ambulance. I think we’re going to like him.

The same really can’t be said for Mason (Victor Oshin), who is still doing his best to be a prize twonk. Rash (Neet Mohan) really needed to impress Ethan (George Rainsford) this week because he badly wants the CT1 position and to get that he needs a good reference from Ethan. His chance came when he dealt beautifully with a patient who was the most ill-looking man I’ve ever seen on Casualty. Mason had been struggling to tell Ethan how he’d proceed with the case so Rash stepped in, to save Mason’s face as much as anything. Mason didn’t see it that way, though, and accused rash of ‘dropping him in it.’ This is rich coming from Mason, who’s thrown Rash under a bus so many times that Rash has a permanent tyre mark down his back.

James Nightingale’s (Gregory Finnegan) relationship with Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) may have ended in devastating fashion in Hollyoaks several months back, but — even after the relationship’s culmination — James’ love for Harry was still incredibly evident, which is why he struggles to process his ex-boyfriend’s death in the coming episodes.

Yes, with news of Harry’s death still very much on his mind, James struggles to cope, and as a result he decides to go out partying — much to Marnie’s (Lysette Anthony) dismay.

Things escalate further when he brings some of the men that he was out partying with back to his place — and Marnie (Lysette Anthony) is fuming as a result.

Martin Fowler (James Bye) has got some business to take care of when he returns to EastEnders to fight for his wife Stacey (Lacey Turner) to be able to come home. And there’s one person standing in his way – Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden).

The plight of Martin’s struggling teenage daughter Bex (Jasmine Armfield) brings the frantic dad home when she makes an attempt to take her own life. But he realises that while Ben still has the bloddied wrench that Stacey used to almost kill Phil (Steve McFadden), he and Stacey can’t come home.

After seeing Jean (Gillian Wright) struggling, Ben almost got rid of the murder weapon but later changed his mind, holding onto it for leverage which he soon finds beneficial. As Ben ends up making enemies due to his help with Phil’s dodgy criminal activities, he finds that Martin could end up being useful.

Martin is enraged with Ben for his manipulation and, with emotions running high, he grabs the resident punch bag and threatens him. But the confrontation takes another turn when Ben has a surprising request which leaves Martin taken aback.

With Ben currently holding all of the cards, Martin may find that he has no choice to comply – but will he regret getting involved in Ben’s dark world and will he find himself trapped as he prepares to do anything to get Stacey home?

Lacey recently shot a filler scene which will see Stacey reappear on screen briefly later in the year but the actress is currently taking maternity leave after giving birth to her daughter Dusty. She recently delighted fans by sharing some rare photos with herself and her newborn.

Back on the Square, her alter ego’s problems look no closer to being solved as Stacey remains in hiding and Martin finds himself at Ben’s mercy. But will Ben hold up his side of the bargain?

EastEnders spoilers: Shock exit for Adam Bateman as actor axed from soap

Another EastEnders exit has been confirmed as love cheat Adam Bateman (Stephen Rahman-Hughes) will be written out as the truth about his affair with Habiba Ahmed (Rukku Nahar) is exposed, leaving Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) distraught.

The sleazy dentist has been carrying on with Habiba and it’s clear that Honey has been savvy to his wily ways – but she has tried to block out the betrayal. However, it will soon become too much as Honey confronts him over his betrayal.

This will lead to his exposure as a love rat, prompting a departure from the soap, which confirms that his ending is a ‘natural conclusion for the character’.

A recent trailer showed Honey confronting Habiba over the affair and it means that the end is nigh for Adam.

A source told The Daily Star: ‘Producers have decided it’s the end of the road for Adam. It was decided to write the character out. His turbulent relationship with Honey Mitchell has kept viewers hooked. But once his cheating is exposed, the storyline comes to a natural end, so bosses decided not to renew Stephen’s contract.

Honey hugs Adam in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

‘Stephen has been a fantastic part of the show. The decision to axe his character is no reflection on his performance.’

Metro.co.uk has approached EastEnders spokespersons for comment.

Adam is trying his best to keep his betrayal under wraps as he builds a life with Honey. But in the wake of the truth coming out, Mariam advises Billy that he is the man for his ex-wife. Is there set to be a reunion for the pair?

Fans have been speculating that Honey will take revenge on Adam for his betrayal but it will remain to be seen how she will respond as her relationship crumbles. Emma is currently taking part in Strictly Come Dancing, meaning an extended absence for Honey is expected.

Emmerdale spoilers: Cain Dingle murders Moira and Nate in horror bloodbath?

Cain, Moira and Nate in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is about to have his world shattered into pieces in Emmerdale when he discovers that his wife Moira (Natalie J Robb) has been cheating on him with farmhand Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) and before long, his pain will manifest itself into explosive revenge.

The soap has confirmed that, just in time for the huge October episodes which have become an Emmerdale tradition, Cain will discover Moira’s betrayal and he is rocked to the core. And the promotion for the episodes has teased that Nate and Moira will regret their actions as Cain plots his own back.

Cain’s temper is renowned and we have seen him snap on many an occasion but this could arguably be what hurts him the most and causes him to go more over the edge than ever before. After everything he and Moira have come through, to be betrayed in this way would leave him both agonised and seething – especially as he hasn’t got on well with Nate from the moment he made himself at home in the caravan.

Nate has been extremely flippant and arrogant in his pursuit of Moira but fans have also noted that Moira’s uncharacteristic callousness towards Cain through her actions could be the breaking point for the popular couple.

In previous years characters such as James, Emma and Finn Barton have all met nasty ends in October – could Moira be the latest from the Barton fold to meet her maker? We don’t anticipate for a moment that Cain would deliberately set out to kill Moira – but the same might not be said of Nate.

With Cain not wanting to let him get away with destroying his family, his rage will boil over – but will Moira intervene, with tragic consequences? Could Cain be about to make the biggest mistake of his life, leaving him with death on his conscience?

And will Moira and Nate pay a bloody price for their sordid affair?

When Bianca (Patsy Palmer) returned to Walford for Whitney’s big day, she brought with her a lot of trouble in the form of Leo. The young lad claimed that the Albert Square legend had lied about Tony, as — in spite of the evidence — he refuses to believe that his dad was a paedophile.

With Bianca having given him the money he desperately wanted, you’d think Leo would have upped sticks and left by now. However, despite Bianca having moved on once more, Leo’s not going anywhere, and he will turn his attention to Whitney.

In the coming episodes, things begin to look up for Whitney — who’s suffered greatly over the last few months after she learned that fiancé Callum (Tony Clay) has cheated on her with Ben (Max Bowden). However, her and Callum seemingly start to put the past behind them, as they begin to build a friendship. In addition to this, she receives a text from Leo — and she’s chuffed as a result.

Later, Whitney meets up with Leo and sparks fly between the two. Of course, Whitney hasn’t a clue as to who the young man really is.

What is Leo hoping to gain by striking up a relationship with Whitney? We know that he is refusing to believe the truth about what his dad did, so is this developing bond a means of seeking revenge on behalf of Tony?

If so, is Whitney in imminent danger?

Or will she learn of Leo’s true identity before it’s too late?

Fiz in Coronation Street
(Picture: ITV)

Since Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) returned to the cobbles in Coronation Street after being in Birmingham so daughter Hope (Isabella Flanagan) could attend a pupil referral unit, things certainly haven’t been smooth sailing. Already Tyrone (Alan Halsall) has forgotten to apply for a place at the local school for Hope, resulting in home schooling her, Hope has started a fire in the factory (thankfully it was only a small fire) and now it seems things are about to get even more complicated for Fiz, as it appears Hope’s live-in tutor Jade (Lottie Henshall) is hiding something…

Before Jade’s arrival, Fiz was acting strange around Tyrone which lead him to believe she was having an affair when in actual fact she had been speaking to Jade (who was Hope’s teaching assistant in Birmingham) who was offering her advice on Hope’s home schooling. At Fiz’s invitation, Jade arrives at No.9 to be Hope’s live-in tutor. However whilst everyone was pleased to welcome her, Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) sneered at her willingness to drop everything…

As Jade serves breakfast Evelyn eyes her suspiciously. A delighted Fiz tells Tyrone that she’s accepted Gary’s (Mikey North) offer of a job at the furniture shop. Meanwhile Evelyn quietly lets herself into No.9 and catches Jade rifling through the drawers.

When Jade tells Evelyn all about her terrible marriage, she explains that if it weren’t for Fiz she would have never survived and how she was actually searching for a photo she could get framed to say thanks. Fiz returns home and is taken aback to find Jade pouring her heart out to Evelyn about her abusive ex-husband.

After Fiz gets in trouble with Gary whilst working at the furniture shop, she tells him to stick the job and walks out. Later, Jade persuades Gary to reinstate Fiz at the shop, in turn securing her own job.

What could Jade be up to?

The Archers catch-up: Lexi’s had the baby! But will the boys get to keep it?

The Archers
Babies, cakes and Ruth’s mood were key themes of this week’s Archers

What’s been going on in Ambridge this week?

Lexi’s finally had the baby! You’d be forgiven for thinking her pregnancy had been longer than an elephant’s, but it really has only been 9 months. Lexi chucked Adam and Ian out of the birthing room and asked for Kirsty – much to Jennifer’s horror. How can Lexi have a male midwife looking up her foo-foo yet she won’t have the two dads in the room?

The SWs have taken Jenny from keen gran to quite cruel with her treatment of Lexi. It’s believable in a sense – a small village-dwelling grandmother with a gay son absorbing the fact a Bulgarian fruit picker is giving birth to her grandchild and she suspects might snatch it away – but too much from Jenny? She has said some dreadful things in the past and is often blinkered to the sufferings of the underclasses, but this does seem rather extreme.

The real questions among listeners are if the ‘boys’ (‘boys who are both in their 50s) get to keep the baby. Will Lexi take him back to Bulgaria? After all, she’s still the legal parent. The other rumour doing the rounds is that the baby could actually be Roy’s (we’re not sold, are you?),

On the topic of baby talk, Lillian got absolutely trollied on Chablis at The Feathers and almost left her shoes in the taxi after a very long lunch with Vince Casey where she bored him with chat of the cherub.

Vince pretended not to mind – he had ulterior motives, plying Lilian with wine to get her to spill the beans about Justin’s interest in Crowther’s. Her ‘blind loyalty’ as she calls it meant she didn’t let a single detail escape her lips – despite being royally miffed that Justin is leading David on over the purchase.

As David’s getting his hopes up over a new abbatoir for the Hasset Hills co-op, Justin’s making plans to raze it to the ground to turn it into offices.

Lilian wants Justin to tell David that he has no intention of turning it into an abbatoir, Justin is being classic old school ruthless Justin Elliot, saying he doesn’t have time to break the news as there’s business to be done.

Kate finally managed to spend the night at Jakob’s after getting Joy Horville to babysit Peggy.

Peggy was furious and tried to cancel it last minute but it was too late. Joy came in and predictably bored her with chat of Her Rochelle – before sweeping the board at the Flower & Produce show!

What a way to make a splash in Ambridge. While we’re

Vince is trolling Justin nicely – he turned up at the clay pigeon shoot and managed to out-manoeuvre Justin on the gun, leaving him flustered and determined to take Vince down. Justin was furious and lashed out at Lilian, suggesting she fancied Vince, saying it wouldn’t be the first time she’d been drawn to such a man.

Lilian gave him short shrift of course – she’s shocked that ruthless Justin could possibly be letting Vince Casey get to him…

The week wraps up with another row from Pip and Ruth and a dumteedum moment when  the boys tell Jennifer they’ve named the baby Alexander after Lexi, aka Alexandra.

Jennifer is so outraged she can’t even utter the name. The Baby shall henceforth be known as The Baby.

Line of the week:

Kate: Gran, how shall I put it. When I do any activity, I like to… participate fully. Peggy: Well dear, I can always take my hearing aids out.

This week’s burning questions

1 – Has anyone checked on Joe Grundy lately? It’s getting past the point where it’s okay for him to just die in his sleep. It’s been six months, Clarrie love. Haven’t you been in to change his sheets?

2 – What’s happened to the Gills? Will they ever become a feature of Ambridge or were they just a device to underline the fact that Brian and Jennifer definitely couldn’t buy back their home, one big party and never to be seen again?

3 – Where is Russ? Lily is not talking about him… There’s been hardly a mention since they moved back. We know he’s working at the gallery, but doesn’t she have any domestic tales of irritation to share with us? After all, this is RUSS she’s living with. Does this signify then end for Russ and Lily?

Irene learns what Tommy is planning (Picture: Channel 5)

Irene (Lynne McGranger) is awaiting trial to find out what the verdict will be following her attack on Tommy (Adam Sollis), which took place when he assaulted Bella (Courtney Miller) at the Beach House. However, Leah (Ada Nicodemou) is being a beacon of support alongside the support group, who are rallying behind her.

Leah tells Irene that the support group being present at the trial will be sure to show the judge and jury that the public is on her side. Meanwhile, she is focusing her blog on a message of support for all victims. What’s more, as Irene’s lawyer has advised her not to make any public statements before her trial, Leah has planned to interview Teresa (Simone McAullay) – a woman from Irene’s support group – instead.

Leah becomes emotional as she edits the stories the women from Irene’s support group have spoken up about, telling Justin (James Stewart) she’s amazed by their courage. She encourages Irene to sit down and watch the videos too, which leaves Irene taken aback at the outpouring of support for her situation.

However, Irene is suddenly left in pieces after a phone call from her lawyer. She relays to Leah that Tommy is planning to sue her if she’s found guilty of assaulting him. While Leah tries to reassure her friend, Irene points out that it isn’t just her house and assets she could lose in a civil case – the Diner is also in jeopardy!

Irene tells Leah she wants to sign over her share of the Diner to her in case her assets are frozen as a result of a guilty verdict during the trial. Leah doesn’t want to betray her friend by signing, believing it would show a lack of confidence in her chances. However, Irene becomes increasingly fraught by the situation. Will Leah push Irene over the edge by refusing to sign the documents, and could the Diner be lost due to Tommy’s actions?

Lucy Fallon Im a Celeb
Lucy Fallon is apparently in talks for I’m a Celeb this year (Picture: ITV)

Corrie’s Lucy Fallon is the latest star in line to take part in this year’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, according to reports.

The actress announced in May that she would be leaving Coronation Street’s cobbles for good at the end of her contract which is due to run out in January 2020.

But it appears that she might be bowing out a little early with suggestion she is one of the newest stars to be approached for this year’s I’m a Celebrity jungle.

And after years of turning down the opportunity, this year she’s reportedly finally said yes.

‘This year, she told them she feels the timing is right,’ a source told The Sun.

‘Bosses are delighted to have her on board and are sure she will be a big hit with fans at home and her campmates.’

Seems she’d be in familiar company too, if rumours are anything to go by, seeing as her Corrie co-star Alan Halsall has also been connected with going onto the show.

Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe has also been lined-up as a potential addition to this year’s series.

With Ant and Dec revealing they were in meetings preparing for this year’s series, which typically starts at the beginning of November, we’ve not got too long to figure out who’s going in.

Other rumours for the show include Love Island’s Amy Hart and Freddie Flintoff, while stars including Duncan James have been forced to deny their involvement.

I’m a Celebrity returns later this year on ITV1.

Beverley wants to keep the discussion going on mental health (Picture: ITV/Rex)

Coronation Street’s Beverley Callard has opened up about her depression battle and said she will ‘have to be medicated forever’ thanks to her mental health struggles.

The actress, who played the iconic Liz McDonald for 29 years, says she’s grateful for the medication she uses to help her.

‘I’ll have to be medicated forever. I know I will have to take medication for the rest of my life. I am grateful it’s there,’ she told Daily Star Sunday.

Beverley has previously revealed that she is bipolar and had suicidal thoughts, struggling when a previous medication was off the market.

Discussing how hard she found it to come forward, the star admitted that she felt like she couldn’t talk about it to anyone in the depths of it.

‘You can only talk about it when you’ve got better,’ she continued.

‘So I wouldn’t be able to discuss anything if I wasn’t well. But once I’ve recovered I can try to champion the cause then to help people going through it.’

Beverley caused controversy earlier this year over mental health as she admitted she feared people would see the struggle as ‘fashionable’.

Speaking to Best Magazine, she had previously said: ‘Real mental illness is very dark and it takes a great deal of strength to ask for help. I think we are now definitely chipping away at the stigma. But we have to be careful mental illness doesn’t become like a Gucci handbag.

‘There is a danger it can become “fashionable”.’

But she later clarified her comments.
