Katie has denied being in an altercation with the Love Island stars Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard

Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn has taken a light hearted swipe at claims that she was ranting at Love Island star Maura Higgins during the TV Choice Awards on Monday night. After pictures emerged of her looking animated and showing her gesticulating passionately, reports claimed that the pair had been in a spat.

However, they were later seen leaving the Hilton Park Lane hotel venue holding hands and Katie later confirmed they were actually new friends and slammed the rumours as the result of a ‘slow news day.’

She has now addressed the issue again by sharing a photo on her Instagram Stories of her looking downcast with Maura as she left the ceremony, captioning it: ‘My face when I saw the headlines of our ‘row’ this morning.’

Katie, who plays doomed Sinead Tinker in the soap, is clearly seeing the funny side of the situation. There was also speculation that EastEnders stars Danny Dyer and Danielle Harold were having a row due to pictures but they too have denied that any spat took place.

However, the awards ceremony was not fight free as a clash between Emmerdale’s Asan N’Jie and Hollyoaks’ Jamie Lomas got out of hand, with video footage showing Asan threatening to ‘knife’ Jamie.

As a result, he has been sacked from the soap, with an ITV spokesperson telling Metro.co.uk: ‘Emmerdale suspended Asan N’Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night. ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect.’

Asan said in a statement: ‘My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character. I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards. I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this.’

Emmerdale star Asan N’Jie has been sacked from his role on the soap after an altercation at the TV Choice Awards.

He has played Ellis Chapman, the son of Jessie Dingle (Sandra Marvin) and Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) since September 2018.

Ellis first appeared at The Woolpack when meeting Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) for a date after speaking online, and he has since been involved in several storylines including his relationship with Victoria and a feud with his half brother Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle).

Now that the actor has been removed from his role, here is everything that you need to know about what happened.

Why was Asan N’Jie sacked from Emmerdale?

Asan N’Jie has been sacked from the soap after a fight with Jamie Lomas, who plays Warren Fox in Hollyoaks.

The two actors were caught on video having a confrontation after the TV Choice Awards, which reportedly took place at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London.

According to reports Asan was escorted from the premises by security and allegedly made threats to ‘kill’ Jamie.

An insider told The Sun: ‘Jamie was enraged by the sarcastic dig which seemed to come out of nowhere and was completely unprovoked.

Footage of the confrontation between Asan and Jamie was released by The Mirror, which led to ITV launching an investigation of the incident.

Daniel and Sinead in Coronation Street

There are devastating scenes in Coronation Street tonight as Sinead Tinker’s death storyline becomes a very real reality as she is given months to live. It’s no secret to viewers that the character is set to die in devastating scenes which will air later this year.

Following her bittersweet wedding to Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), Sinead and her husband brace themselves for the results after the discovery of a lump was found in her neck. And the news is worse than they could have ever imagined.

As it is confirmed that the aggressive cancer has returned and spread, doctors confirm that there is nothing that they can do and a tearful Sinead asks if she will even be around for Bertie’s first day of school.

The response is even more horrific than she was expecting as she is told that she only has months left and may deteriorate even faster as the chemotherapy exhausts her body – she may not even be able to look after Bertie.

In a standalone episode which focuses on the storyline, Sinead and Daniel try to come to terms with the harrowing news. Broken and robbed of their future together as a family, they hold each other close knowing that they are going to be torn apart.

The plotline will mark the end of Katie’s time on the show, with the actress confirming that she asked bosses to kill off the character. She said recently: ‘Daniel and Sinead are just broken, we just tried to play it with as much realism as we could, they’re both in disbelief. Sinead doesn’t understand she just wants to be a mum to Bertie, she wants to know how long she’s got left. ‘They’re both completely devastated and in shock and all the emotion just comes pouring out.’

Katie has already filmed her final scenes.

Coronation Street continues on Wednesday 11 September at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.

ITV said in a statement: ‘Emmerdale suspended Asan N’Jie yesterday pending further investigation iunto an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night.

Asan starred in Emmerdale as Ellis Chapman, joining the soap in 2018.

His character, who is the son of Jessie Dingle (Sandra Marvin), has been notable during his time in the Dales for his relationship with Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) as well as his turbulent relationship with half-brother Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) and the arrival of his shady businessman dad Al.

More recently, he had a major role in Emmerdale’s night out week after he was stabbed in the back, later suffering panic attacks as a result of the assault.

Asan had been nominated for best newcomer at the TV Choice Awards but lost out to EastEnders actress Kara-Leah Fernandes (Bailey Baker).

When is Asan N’Jie leaving Emmerdale?

It’s not yet been confirmed when Asan’s final scenes on the soap will air or how Ellis will leave the show.

However as he will have already filmed scenes for upcoming episodes it’s likely he’ll still be onscreen for a while.

Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) is going to have a difficult time in Coronation Street over the next few months.

His partner Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) finds out that she has terminal cancer this week after finding a lump on her neck during the couple’s wedding.

Her final scenes on the soap have already been filmed, and new pictures hint that her death will see Daniel hit rock bottom.

Ahead of the traumatic scenes, here is everything that you need to know about the actor who plays Daniel Osbourne.

Who is Coronation Street actor Rob Mallard?

Rob Mallard joined Corrie as Ken Barlow’s youngest son Daniel Osbourne in 2016, taking over after two other characters had played the role.

Since then he has been a regular part of the cast, and he won Best Newcomer at The British Soap Awards in 2017, and was shortlisted for the same prize at the National Television Awards in 2018.

When he was younger, Rob also had a small part in the 2004 movie Brass Tacks, and he played Freak Frank in the short film Bottom of the Ninth in 2003.

What type of cancer does Sinead have in Coronation Street and when does she die?

Poor Sinead isn’t long for Corrie… (Picture: ITV)

Coronation Street has dealt fans a serious blow as Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) has learned that not only is her cancer back, but it will claim her life.

Sinead and her husband Daniel (Rob Mallard) are understandably reeling from this shocking and tragic news after a shadow was cast over their wedding day with the discovery of a lump on Sinead’s neck.

Here’s what we know about her illness and when she’ll be breathing her last on Corrie.

What type of cancer does Sinead have?

Sinead was initially diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2018.

While she responded well to treatment at first, she turned to holistic methods when she began to fear that chemotherapy would harm her then-unborn child.

She has now discovered that her cancer has returned and is terminal, having spread to her liver and lymph nodes.

When will Sinead die on Corrie?

Sinead has been told that she only has three or four months left to live.

It’s not yet been confirmed exactly when her final scenes will air, but they’re due to be shown later this year.

Indeed, actress Katie McGlynn has already filmed Sinead’s death scenes.

On the subject of her character’s demise, Katie has said: ‘I know it sounds very sadistic but I wanted her to die because that’s real life and life isn’t a fairytale.

‘Loads of women are dying, so many people are affected by cancer and this storyline triggers so many emotions for so many people because it’s absolutely heartbreaking.’

On the cobbles, Sinead is now set to make a massive decision about her death.

The young mum will have to choose whether she wants to spend her final days with her husband at home or in a hospice.

As the tragic storyline continues, Sinead will also suffer badly from her latest chemotherapy treatment, soon finding that she’s too weak to hold her son.

She’ll declare that she wants to try one more round of chemo and if she still feels terrible, it will be her final one.

Will Daniel be able to cope with Sinead’s eventual and inevitable loss, or will he go off the rails?

Emmerdale star Charley Webb has returned to work just weeks after giving birth.

The 31-year-old welcomed her newborn son Ace Gene into the world in July and she’s already back in the spotlight.

Teaming up with McDonald’s UK, the popular actress has thrown her support behind the company’s latest campaign, Happy Readers.

The scheme hopes to encourage children to read by offering a free story from David Walliams’ bestselling series, The World’s Worst Children alongside every Happy Meal.

And it seems the Debbie Dingle star has treated her boys to a sneak peek of the new books.

Taking to Instagram in a paid partnership with the brand, she told her followers: ‘My favourite part of the kids evening routine is story time.

‘We read together every evening and love taking it in turns to do ‘all the voices’ and have a little giggle together.’

The soapie added: ‘I’m really excited to announce I am partnering with @mcdonaldsuk on their new #HappyReaders campaign which launches today!

‘The scheme will provide a free World’s Worst Children book (Buster’s absolute favourite!) in every Happy Meal.’

Charley also spoke about the short story Vain Valentine, and how both herself and her sons love the read.

‘I think the Happy Readers scheme is brilliant,’ she confessed: ‘It is incredibly important young children are encouraged to read for their own mental health, as it provides them with an opportunity to relax and wind down with their loved ones.’

The mother-of-three continued: ‘My kids love the World’s Worst Children stories, particularly Buster who adores Vain Valentine where the main character’s vain eccentricities leave us both in hysterics.

‘As a family, we love to read together, and always make time for a bedtime story.’

Charley shares nine-year-old Buster and three-year-old Bowie with her hubby Matthew Wolfenden, as well as their newborn Ace.

The little one was born on 26 July weighing 8lb 3oz and ‘Baby Wolf’ is now doing well following his scary entrance into the world.

‘The umbilical cord was wrapped around Ace’s neck when he was born. It came off and he was passed to me but I could tell something was wrong,’ the proud mum told OK! magazine.

‘Ace wasn’t breathing at first – so the midwife had to press the panic button.

‘I felt weirdly calm as I’d only just pushed him out and was a bit zoned out from the gas and air, although I was together enough to see that he wasn’t breathing.’

Coronation Street fans were left heartbroken after Sinead Tinker found out she only had five months left to live.

The popular character, played by Katie McGlynn, broke down alongside her husband Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) following the devastating news.

And in an emotional monologue at the end of the tragic episode, the star once again won over the hearts of her fans.

Clinging onto her husband with tears in her eyes, Sinead howled: ‘In the end all I’ll be is a story, someone make believe, like the bear from The Bear Hunt.

‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea.’

Smashing up the house, she shouted: ‘I’ve been a good person, it’s not fair, I’ve been a good person why doesn’t that count?

‘I was so full of it, “oh I wont let this define me,” what a joke, that’s all I’ll be, wont I? A joke.’

Daniel tried to comfort his love and wrapped her up in his arms telling her he wants every second they have left together.

‘I’ll have died of cancer, I would have been better drowning in Windermere, getting hit by a bus.

‘Now I’m going to have to spend the next few months dragging this body around while it slowly falls apart.’

Stumbling over her words she questions whether or not she will continued treatment, before telling her hubby: ‘It’s not even the dying, it’s the leaving do you know what I mean?’

After the heart-wrenching scenes aired, fans took to Twitter in tears, as they congratulated the actors on their performance.

‘That episode was utterly heartbreaking. Katie and Rob were exceptional tonight #Corrie,’ one wrote while another added: ‘Aw tonight has been two of the harder @itvcorrie episodes to watch but absolutely incredibly acted #Corrie.’

Someone else said: ‘Oh my heart. What a emotional episode, poor Sinead and Daniel, devastating outstanding performances well written. Well done @itvcorrie.’

The storyline marks the end of Katie’s time on the show, as she recently confirmed that she asked the bosses to kill off Sinead.

She said: ‘Daniel and Sinead are just broken, we just tried to play it with as much realism as we could, they’re both in disbelief.

‘Sinead doesn’t understand she just wants to be a mum to Bertie, she wants to know how long she’s got left.

Earlier this week, Jamie clashed with Asan while leaving the TV Choice Awards, held at the plush Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London on Monday night.

Photos obtained by The Sun show Asan furiously shouting towards Jamie, who is bundled away by his Hollyoaks pal Malique Thompson-Dwyer.

Sources claim Asan threatened to ‘kill’ and ‘knife’ Jamie, 44, who is set to return to Hollyoaks later this year as Warren Fox.

The incident led to Emmerdale sacking Asan, who played Ellis Chapman, on Wednesday. The young actor was pictured being escorted from the set after meetings with ITV producers who launched an investigation.

Confirming his departure from the soap, an ITV spokesperson said: ‘Emmerdale suspended Asan N’Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night. ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect.’

Asan said in his own statement: ‘My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.

EastEnders spoilers: Chantelle and Gray Atkins’ story to get extremely dark

Gray intimidates Chantelle in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

EastEnders viewers were left in shock several months back when it was revealed that seemingly perfect husband Gray Atkins (Toby Alexander-Smith) had been assaulting wife Chantelle (Jessica Plummer), and — with the abuse showing no signs of stopping — things will seemingly get whole lot darker, as Kate Oates has revealed that this storyline will be pushed further.

Upon their arrival in Albert Square, Gray and Chantelle seemed like the perfect couple. However, after months of watching them demonstrate their love for one another in a series of public settings, viewers got their first glimpse of what the pair’s marriage was really like, when it was revealed that the solicitor had been physically assaulting his wife behind closed doors.

In addition to the violence, Gray has also demonstrated controlling behaviour, as he determines not only how much money Chantelle is allowed to spend, but also how long she’s allowed to go out with her friends for.

With Gray off on business, this narrative has taken a bit of a backseat as of late, but make no mistake, it’s far from over — as this storyline will be pushed further as we head towards autumn. Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Kate Oates said: ‘We’ve got great stuff for Chantelle and Gray. That storyline will be continuing EastEnders’ tradition of stories which explore really important issues. We’re going to be pushing that story.’

‘We’ve been building it quite gently very deliberately and building the sort of public — by which I mean the Square — the public perception of the kind of man Gray is and the kind of marriage that they have, so we’ll be exploring that.’

With this storyline being pushed further over the coming months, it’s likely that things will get a lot darker. The question is: will Chantelle take action against her abuser? She’s already made a number of attempts to stand up to her husband, but — with no signs of the abuse stopping — could she perhaps take drastic measures?

Will she seek revenge on him for all that he’s put her through? If so, how far will she go?

Described by show bosses as ‘charming by nature – but a force to be reckoned with’, the Panesar clan are a British Asian family of Punjabi Sikh heritage and is comprised of siblings Kheerat (Jaz Deol), Jags (Amar Adatia) and Vinny (Shiv Jalota). Upon their arrival, they’re set to feud with one of Walford’s big families — although which clan it is has yet to be revealed.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk about the new arrivals, Executive Producer Jon Sen said: ‘Obviously EastEnders is a show which prides itself on diversity and representing modern London and modern Britain and we were really keen on finding a way of telling stories from the Sikh community, so they arrive —these three siblings who are very different in and of themselves.’

The eldest of the three siblings, Kheerat, is a successful businessman who knows exactly what he wants. Jags idolises his brother — although he somewhat lives in his shadow — and nothing ever seems to go right him, something which tends to leave the rest of his family — and Kheerat — rather unimpressed.

Then there’s Vinny, who is seemingly sweet — and has been indulged since the day he was born. In other words, he’s the golden boy of the family. However, there’s a lot more to Vinny than meets the eye as, behind that innocent exterior, he’s no angel.

Jon said: ‘What’s really interesting about them is that Kheerat’s 31, Jag’s the middle one — a bit younger at 27 — and then you’ve got Vinny the ingénue, and yet he’s got the shortest fuse in history.’

Walford’s been home to many a character with short fuses over the years — with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) being the prime example. The question is: could Vinny’s fuse be shorter than Phil’s?

Jon mused: ‘It could be! Eventually shorter than Phil’s.’

Short fuses have something of a reputation in Walford for leading to trouble, so could Vinny perhaps be Albert Square’s next big villain?

Everyone knows that Christmas Day is the biggest date in the soaps calendar and EastEnders has reportedly lined up a whopper.

Thanks to one star’s insight, it looks like Albert Square is set to be rocked across the festive period by a storyline so impressive that fans won’t be left yearning for the good old days – like when the Brannings all found out about Max (Jake Wood) and Stacey’s (Lacey Turner) affair by watching a mysterious DVD that had been gifted to Bradley (Charlie Clements).

Lucy Benjamin, who plays Lisa Fowler, teased to Metro.co.uk there’s great stuff lined up and we can’t wait.

Speaking on the red carpet at Monday’s TV Choice Awards, she spilled: ‘Christmas is going to be big. There’s lots of exciting and fabulous stuff.

‘I think no one is going to be disappointed about Christmas this year.’

Yikes.

Lucy also revealed that there’s drama for Lisa too, telling us: ‘Wherever Lisa goes, there’s trouble.

‘Trouble follows Lisa around, even if it’s not directly about her, she is some way shape or form involved. I’m loving that side of things.’

Kate Oates previously revealed to Metro.co.uk that the next few months will be action-packed, adding: ‘There’s so much going on in Walford from autumn, well into the New Year. But, of course, in true EastEnders tradition, Christmas is huge.

‘Much of it will circulate around a very complicated and messy love affair — so expect some major Sheanu drama as it all explodes….but we’ve got some twists and surprises in that story which last right through to New Year.’

Aren’t we lucky?

Coronation Street actress Sair Khan has split from actor boyfriend Simon Lennon, according to reports.

The 31-year-old actress, most known for playing Alya Nazir on the ITV soap since 2014, is claimed to be taking a break from the Our Girl star after nearly two years of dating.

According to The Sun, the split resulted from conflicting work commitments preventing them from spending time together, following Sair’s intense training for Channel 4’s Sink Or Swim.

Speaking to the publication, a source said: ‘Previously, the pair spent a lot of their spare time together.

‘Now both of them have huge work commitments and are at pivotal times in their careers. They have tried to make it work but are taking some time to give each other breathing space.’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Sair’s reps for comment.

Sair recently opened up about the death of her mother on Instagram, explaining how she was seeing a hypnotherapist to deal with anxiety in the aftermath.

She wrote: ‘This year I have felt a loss so profound that my whole body has ached. I’ve cried enough tears to fill the English Channel. I’ve felt raw pain and I know I’m not the only one.

‘I stand in solidarity with all of you who have lost a parent, a friend, or anyone that has shaped you into the person you are today.

‘I honour them and I honour my Mama… I’ve learnt to swim but I’m still learning to heal. Grief is a suspicious thing but the last two months of swimming have been a much-needed release.

‘If you’re a non-swimmer and our show has sparked an interest then I encourage you to safely explore your curiosity because there are loved ones watching over us making sure we’re safe [sic].’

Emmerdale has had a turbulent few months – with a sacking rocking the cast earlier this week.

The latest dismissal came following an incident at the TV Choice Awards on Monday, with news of the sacked cast member confirmed on Wednesday.

So who has been fired from the soap, and what caused it?

Here’s what you need to know…

Who has been sacked from Emmerdale?

This week has seen Asan N’Jie, who plays Ellis Chapman, sacked from the soap.

Asan was dismissed following a fight with Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas at the TV Choice Awards which was captured on video.

The explosive footage showed a brawl between the soap stars during which Asan appeared to make threats to ‘knife’ Jamie, who plays Warren Fox in the soap.

A spokesperson for ITV said: Emmerdale suspended Asan N’Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a Central London hotel on Monday night.

‘ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect.’

‘I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this.’

Asan had played Ellis Chapman in the soap from 2018 – with his character involved in romance with Victoria Barton (Isobel Hodgins), as well as a turbulent relationship with half-brother BIlly (Jay Kontzle).

More recently the character was stabbed in the back during the soap’s night out week – and later suffered panic attacks as a result.

It’s not know when his character will make his exit from the Dales, but as episodes are filmed some weeks in advance you can expect to see him onscreen for a while.

Asan’s firing comes five months after fellow cast member Shila Iqbal – who played Aiesha Richards – was also axed.

‘As a consequence of historic social media posts Shila Iqbal has left her role as Aiesha Richards on Emmerdale. The programme took the decision not to renew her contract as soon as these posts were brought to the company’s attention,’ ITV said in a statement at the time.

Shila said: ‘I am terribly sorry and take full responsibility for my use of such inappropriate language. I have paid the price and can no longer continue the job I loved the most at Emmerdale. Although I was young when I made the Tweets, it was still completely wrong of me to do so and I sincerely apologise.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7pm.

Emmerdale’s Asan N’Jie leaves ITV Studios after he was sacked

Emmerdale’s Asan N’Jie was pictured leaving the ITV Studios, in Leeds, after he was sacked from the soap.

The star looked downcast as he was escorted off the premises alongside the executive producer, Jane Hudson.

He was spotted getting into a car with a large bag over his shoulder just days after he threatened to stab Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas.

The pair were videoed in a brawl at the TV Choice Awards, on Monday, with Malique Thompson-Dwyer having to intervene.

In the clip, the Ellis Chapman actor said he would ‘knife’ Jamie – who is set to return to Hollyoaks as Warren Fox later this year.

Following the spat, Asan was axed from the popular show.

ITV released a statement at the time, which read: ‘Emmerdale suspended Asan N’Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night.

‘ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect.’

The soapie has since apologised for his words.

‘My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character,’ he confessed.

‘I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.’

The star added: ‘I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this.’

An eyewitness told The Sun: ‘Jamie was enraged by the sarcastic dig which seemed to come out of nowhere and was completely unprovoked.

‘It was a real flashpoint which left fellow cast members shocked and one or two people remarking on how it was like a scene from a soap opera.’

They added: ‘It was chaos. They were pushing, shoving and really getting in each other’s faces. They got pulled apart but then went at it again.

‘They were both absolutely furious.’

Sacked Emmerdale star Asan N’Jie, who was recently axed from his role as Ellis Chapman, has avoided police action after a fight at the TV Choice Awards earlier this week which led to him making threats to ‘knife’ Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas.

The heated exchange was caught on video and saw the two men having to be pulled apart by I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! star Malique Thompson Dwyer. Angry Asan had to be escorted from the Hilton Park Lane Hotel as he was shouting threats to ‘kill’ Jamie.

According to The Sun, the incident was sparked by Asan confronting Jamie over financial issues he has between the Warren Fox star and an actor friend of Asan’s he coaches, but neither party has spoken out to confirm this.

ITV confirmed that they had terminated Asan’s contract after investigating the incident but while he has lost his job through the incident, Asan won’t be facing police action as a spokesperson for Metropolitan Police confirmed to Metro.co.uk that the incident has not been reported to them.

Asan apologised for the incident, saying in a statement: ‘My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable. I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.

‘I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this.’

He was pictured leaving the Emmerdale Studios, escorted by the soap’s executive producer Jane Hudson after the meeting.

It is not known how Ellis will be written out of the show or if the character’s already filmed scenes will still air. His on-screen mum Jessie, played by Sandra Marvin, is due to exit the show in coming weeks, leading to fans speculating that the two departure storylines will tie in together.

Emmerdale’s welcomed a familiar face back to its ranks as Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) returns to the village.

We saw the character make her comeback in last Friday’s episode of the soap, following her short stint in January this year, where it was revealed she was harbouring a huge secret.

That’s about to come spilling out now that both Mandy and her son Vinnie (Bradley Johnson) are back – but just how long are they staying this time?

Here’s what you need to know…

How long is Mandy Dingle back in Emmerdale?

It’s not been confirmed exactly how long Mandy is back for this time – but we can tell you that show bosses have promised she’s in for a longer stint in the Dales.

Speaking on This Morning Lisa said she was ‘blown away’ by the response when she returned to the show in January this year.

The actress returned to the soap for a short stint earlier this year (Picture: ITV)

‘I’ve had such a diverse career… creatively I’ve done a lot of the roles I wanted to… so now being back at Emmerdale I feel I am fulfilled,’ she said,

‘As an actor, doing something different every day, I come to work every day and there are new scenes and new actors… and getting to work with the mixture of actors is great, so I feel blessed I am getting it now and long may it last.

‘But I will say Mandy’s leopard print jacket is not going anywhere for the moment.’

What happened last time Mandy was in Emmerdale?

Mandy was only back in the Dales for a few days in January but that was long enough for her to whip up a host of trouble.

During her time there she gatecrashed Marlon’s wedding, roused suspicions that Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) was the father of her son – and dropped a bombshell on Paddy that the man he thought was his father was in fact not.

And now with her big secret being discovered, it looks like Mandy’s at the centre of a whole lot more drama to come.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7pm.
