Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) tells Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) how she feels
(Picture: BBC)

It’s been no secret that strained teenager Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) has been carrying a torch for Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) over recent weeks and as emotions run high on the anniversary of Shakil’s death, she proclaims her love to Kush as he supports her.

The EastEnders knife crime tragedy ripped the heart out of Kush’s family and also had a huge impact on Bex who had dated and been very close to Shakil. As the day arrives, Bex and Kush reminisce at his graveside.

Things become emotional and Kush puts his arm around Bex to comfort her and offers some words of reassurance but he is forced to reject her when she declares that she loves him.

Mortified, Bex flees the graveyard and later, Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) is surprised to learn about her mate’s feelings for Kush and listens as Bex opens up.

She is also facing exam stresses and is trying to stop herself from taking more pills to concentrate and, as she breaks down in tears, Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) confronts her but when Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) walks in, she gets the wrong end of the stick.

Still embarrassed by what happened with Kush, Bex braces herself and heads to the Vic to apologise to him.

But how will she react when she sees him going official with his new romance with Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace)? And could this be what triggers her even worse downfall to come?

One to watch: Monday 20th May at 8pm on BBC One.

EastEnders spoilers: There’s a unexpected shock of a storyline ahead for Karen Taylor

Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) struggles over what's happened
(Picture: BBC)

There are dark scenes on screen for the Taylors right now in EastEnders after the death of Dinah but Lorraine Stanley, who plays Karen, has promised Metro.co.uk that there are lighter scenes ahead for the family – and one heck of a shock for Karen fans.

When we caught up with her, she teased: ‘There’s going to be some fun surprises! Once we get through this bad path, especially for Karen, there’s going to be a shock for anyone. It’s a funny shock – I can’t wait, it’s hilarious.’

However, there is still a major aftermath of Bailey’s loss for the family to come to terms with although Lorraine admits to loving playing out the harder hitting drama among Karen’s comedy – and reckons that’s part of the character’s ongoing endurance.

She explained: ‘The great thing about Karen is she can have the comedy and the gritty drama – she can make you laugh and cry and maybe that’s why people warm to her. Doing these devastating scenes feels good as the storyline means so much to so many people out there and I just try to do it justice. I love doing all that gritty acting.

‘It’s about Bailey now, she’s left without a mum and the aftermath of that. Mitch is angry with Karen as he feels she could have stopped this from happening. Karen is full of guilt and thinks she might go to prison if something comes out in the inquest. Karen’s just left feeling utterly awful.’

Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) is devastated
(Picture: BBC)

However, Mitch and Karen will always have that special bond and Lorraine wouldn’t be surprised to see them back together down the line.

She mused: ‘I think they will always be on/off. They have history and chemistry and it’s not to say they don’t have a cheeky one together now and again! But yeah they could get back together down the line, I could see that – whether that would work is a different matter. It is EastEnders, so he’ll probably cheat on her again!’

Lorraine – along with co-star Zack Morris who plays Keegan – have made the shortlist in the acting categories and she is humbled to have been recognised. She smiled: ‘I’m made up; really chuffed. It’s a viewers vote so even more special. It would mean so much – it’s like I’m flying the flag for the Taylors and I hope Zack wins as well. It’s like two years worth of work and just having a nice pat on the back to say you’ve done so well.

‘The writers have written brilliantly for Karen and the Taylors and Daran Little worked so much on developing them after they were created. I think he based them on former neighbours of his actually when he wrote for them! I had to give him a special mention. I’m grateful for all of the brilliant scripts and storylines. Karen wears her heart on her sleeve – she’s a warm loving mum. She hasn’t got a lot – shes the best momma and the Square.

‘Everyone’s got a bit of Karen in them, everyone knows a Karen and you know, deep down everyone wants to be a Karen too don’t they? You just want to get that onesie on and put your hair in a bun and not bother.’

And it’s not just Lorraine and Zack repping the Taylors. Roger Griffiths and Kara-Leah Fernandes are up for Best Partnership as Mitch and Bailey and Kara-Leah’s moving and engaging performances won her a nomination for Best Young Actor.

Lorraine gushed: ‘I’m so proud. Kara-Leah is just amazing. To be so young and perform the way she does is just amazing and Roger – we just bounce off each other, it’s never been awkward and the natural chemistry has always been there, he’s a pleasure to work with. I just think we all work so well together, Julia Crampsey got the casting bang on I think.

‘For me, since I’ve been ehre, the atmosphere has been lovely. |We all get on so well. It’s nice to have scenes with people you don’t normally get to work with but it’s always been a nice atmosphere here truly. It’s a cheesy line but it really is like a family here, we all have a laugh, it’s a bit like being at school. Everyone’s in a good place. It’s the best job.’

And she has a particular soft spot for her young co-star who she agreed was way older than her nine years of age.

Karen Taylor (Lorraine STanley) spends time with Bailey (Kara-Leah Fernandes) as her mum's condition gets worse
(Picture: BBC)

She said: ‘Kara-Leah is just so clever – she comes out with some really long words and I don’t even know what they mean! It makes me feel a bit thick! She’s always doing stuff like riddles and lots of things with her hands – she could be a magician, she has tricks up her sleeves. She’s never standing still that one, she’s a star in the making and those eyes – she’s just beautiful. She’s lovely, honestly.’

It remains to be seen whether the Taylors will bring home some gongs but either way, Lorraine will be celebrating another year of hard work at the Soap Awards with the rest of the cast. She laughed: ‘I’m party queen, I’m going to smash it! It’s in Manchester this year so it’s like a little holiday! It’s a different postcode so I can do what I like (laughs). I’ll take some pictures on the train, I might not even make it down the red carpet!’

You can vote for Lorraine, Zack and EastEnders by following this link to the Soap Awards website.

Hollyoaks has confirmed that Keith Rice is set to reprise his role as Finn O’Connor and will be back on our screens next month.

The convicted rapist is set to return to the village when his step-mum Diane (played by Alex Fletcher) reaches out to him for help.

Following Sinead’s (Stephanie Davis) revelation that she has been raped by her husband, Laurie (Kyle Pryor), she makes contact with Finn to try and understand the mind-set of a rapist in order to help her step-daughter to get justice.

Viewers will initially still see Finn caged when Diane visits, but he’ll be released in the months that follow.

It remains to be seen whether or not he’ll be allowed to settle back in the Hollyoaks and whether he is sorry for his crimes.

Villain Finn was put behind bars back in 2014 for sexually assaulting his teacher John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) and attempting to harm Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox).

‘I’m looking forward to exploring it, and also still giving the storyline the respect and sensitivity it deserves.’

Frustrated that Jasmine (Sam Frost) has said she would be happy for him to leave the Bay, Robbo (Jake Ryan) is determined to win her back and prove he’s not going to leave her again. He starts sending daily texts, which Willow (Sarah Roberts) encourages, but this only adds to Jasmine’s stress levels.

She deals with the messages by ignoring them and instead throwing herself into work and exercise. While out running, she bumps into Robbo and he asks if she’s getting his messages. However, she replies that she’s already given him her response.

Feeling even more distressed, Jasmine pushes herself hard until she has to stop due to fatigue, and Willow spots her, showing concern. Jasmine makes it clear she doesn’t want Willow’s help, but when it’s made clear to Willow that Jasmine became so worked up due to seeing Robbo, she realises Jasmine is in denial about her feelings.

Carla suffers in Coronation Street
(Picture: ITV)

Coronation Street has revealed its dramatic trailer for a week of unforgettable late night episodes which will see the killer of Rana Habeeb finally revealed as well as revelations about Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Gary Windass (Mikey North).

The Platt family head off on holiday but it’s destined for disaster as Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) learns that Nick stole her money and she promptly slaps his face. Meanwhile, Carla Connor’s (Alison King) psychosis tips her over the edge as she experiences her worst episode yet, in a special edition which will give an insight into her state of mind.

It will culminate with her crumbling into the arms of Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) and crying out that she killed Rana. But of course she hasn’t – and the week will see viewers discover the truth of who really sabotaged the roof.

The finger of blame seems to be pointing at Nick in a number of scenes as Leanne (Jane Danson) speculates that he could be capable of murder which prompts him to make a big confession to her – but will this be the end for him? And Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) sees his guilt over Audrey’s money theft as a sign that he is the villain who brought down Underworld’s roof.

Meanwhile, Gary is in serious danger after crossing Rick Neelan (Greg Wood) one too many times and as the pair come face to face, it seems like Gary is being held hostage but will he emerge from this showdown alive or is this the end?

The episodes, as is traditional, will air across a week at the end of the month in the 9pm slot between Britain’s Got Talent finale episodes.

But the reveal of Rana’s killer is just the beginning of the next phase of the story which will rumble on for months to come…

He declines suggestions that he should go to counselling, and instead wants to get set up to live an independent life.

After learning that the army can’t provide him with housing in the city, his drive goes away again and John is left to try and come up with a solution. Wanting Jett to remain safe but also respecting his wishes to be independent, he offers him a place of his own nearby. A thrilled Jett gets back to work at the gym.

While he’s there, he meets Robbo (Jake Ryan), who has learned about his time in Afghanistan. He tries to reach out to Jett, talking about how he was there too as part of his time with the Feds. However, Jett thinks his experience sounds trivial compared to what he’s been through, and he’s angry that Robbo is trying to compare the two.

Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) waits for Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) but is shocked when David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) shows up instead
(Picture: ITV)

David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) is finally about to come face to face with Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein), his ex who groomed and abused his teenage son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Platt) in Emmerdale.

After the truth was exposed and Maya as tackled by Leyla Harding (Roxy Shihadi), she disappeared with Jacob in tow as they vowed to start a new life together but Jacob was overwhelmed at leaving everything behind and Maya became frustrated with her struggles to control him.

Believing he had been secretly visiting David, Maya packed her bags and fled but Jacob gets in touch with her and they arrange to meet up at the cricket pavilion so that they can flee again. However, David has asked Ryan Stocks (James Moore) to install software to track Jacob’s messages on his laptop and he races to the scene before they can disappear.

Coming face to face with Maya for the first time since he found out what she had done, David loses it and calls her out on her actions. And it’s too late for Maya to escape as the police cars soon make themselves known and she is arrested.

But while David is certain that he has done the right thing, Jacob refuses to forgive him, still believing he is in love with Maya.

Matthew recently said: ‘David absolutely believes he has done the right thing. Now that he knows the truth, he absolutely despises Maya. There’s no emotion over losing his girlfriend. That completely goes out of the window and it’s now pure, unadulterated hate. David wants Maya to go away to prison and for the key to be thrown away.

‘Jacob actually witnesses Maya being handcuffed and put into the police car. He’s obviously devastated and thinks that David has completely ruined his life. He still wants to be with Maya and thinks they’re in love.’

Stuart Highway stands over 'dead' Rainie in EastEnders

There are traumatic scenes ahead for Rainie Branning (Tanya Franks) as she is left to die in violent scenes when a plot she has with Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) goes terribly wrong. EastEnders cast have been filming intense scenes and the result does not look good at all for Rainie.

In an upcoming storyline, Stuart and Rainie will join forces for a cash making scheme which sees Rainie pose as a prostitute in back alleys. After receiving the cash for her ‘services’, the plot is for Stuart to then intervene and scare the punters off, leaving them with the money.

Well, it’s an enterprising idea, if abhorrent and full of risks. And those risks soon haunt them in a massive way when one of their escapades goes badly wrong.

When two men approach Rainie with the offer to pay for sex, they soon clock on that something is amiss but they won’t be scared off and she ends up at their violent mercy. Rainie is badly beaten up in a savage attack and by the time Stuart manages to intervene, it could be too late.

As Stuart is seen fighting them off, Rainie is motionless on the ground. Is she dead and will Stuart blame himself if so?

A source told Metro.co.uk: ‘Stuart and Rainie started off as enemies but they are far more similar than they first realise and create and exciting but troubling dynamic. They can both be as impulsive as each other so it was inevitable that their idea was going to go wrong.

EXC ALL ROUND HUGE EASTENDERS SPOILER Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) and Rainey Cross (Tanya Franks) have joined up to make some money by scamming men into paying Rainey for sex in an alleyway and then Stuart comes and frightens them off ,hence keeping the cash. ‘But there’s going wrong and there’s this. After Rainie is left in this situation, it could be the end of the line. The scenes are harrowing and will leave viewers in shock and Tanya and Ricky really threw themselves into the filming so it looks authentic.

‘But whether this spells the end for Rainie remains to be seen. It would certainly impact Stuart if she were to die as part of of this and send him spiralling into his darkest place yet – which is certainly saying something!’

The dramatic scenes will air later in the summer as Stuart’s more villainous side comes to light again.

But it remains to be seen quite how terrible the consequences are.

(Picture: OK! Magazine)

EastEnders star Louisa Lytton has revealed that she has got engaged to her American boyfriend Ben Bhanvra after he proposed during a romantic getaway to the Maldives recently. The actress, who plays Ruby Allen in the soap, said that she ‘burst into tears’ when he popped the question.

Ben had taken Louisa on holiday for a 30th birthday present and had planned an intricate proposal – but admitted it didn’t quite go to plan when they were interrupted by a cleaner! Nevertheless, it sounds like it became a joyous moment and the couple are now looking ahead to getting married.

In an interview with OK! Magazine, Ben shared: ‘I took Louisa to a quiet part of the island where I knew no one else would be around. I told her I wanted to fly my drone to get some aerial pictures of the island, although really I wanted it to capture a video of the moment I proposed.

(Picture: OK! Magazine)

‘As soon as I got it up in the air and reached to get the ring from the bag a cleaner walked past and was so mesmerised by the drone he was just stood next to us staring at it for ages. I had to wait for him to leave. The cleaner finally disappeared so I got a speaker out of my bag that I was going to use to play a song for when I proposed but the Wi-Fi signal was bad so I couldn’t get it to play.’

Despite it not going his way, Ben got down on one knee and just went for it and Louisa admitted to being taken completely by surprise and ‘crying like a baby’.

The couple intend to get married in America in 2021 but want to buy a house together first. And talk has already turned to babies!

Louisa beamed: ‘I want at least two children and Ben wants three so we’ll have to get cracking pretty soon after the wedding! I can’t wait to have babies, I’m very maternal so it’s been my dream for a long time to be a mum.’

Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) is not happy when Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) moves back in
(Picture: ITV)

Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) is feeling suspicious in Coronation Street as Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) moves herself back into the flat – and he has good reason to be given that she was only just recently accusing him of being behind the factory collapse which killed Rana Habeeb.

After finding the investigation report hidden under Nick’s mattress, Toyah was instantly accusatory, despite Leanne’s (Jane Danson) attempts to find reasoning behind it and Nick was swiftly arrested. Imran (Charlie de Melo) is now utterly convinced that Nick is the man to blame for his sister’s horrific death.

However, when Toyah and Imran’s relationship appears to hit the rocks, Leanne tells Nick that she has invited Toyah to move back in as she has split from Imran. Nick is furious but Leanne explains that Toyah only blamed Nick to try and appease Imran and doesn’t really believe that he is capable of such crime.

But as Toyah makes herself comfortable, Nick makes it clear that he doesn’t trut her? Just what are her intentions – is she setting out to trap Nick and discover the truth? And will she manage to get a confession out of him for Imran?

Or does she genuinely believe that he is actually innocent?

Coronation Street continues on Monday 20th May at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.

Coronation Street looks set to deliver another cruel twist as Sinead Tinker continues her recovery from cervical cancer.

Katie McGlynn was joined on This Morning by her co-star Rob Mallard, who stars as Sinead’s husband Daniel Osbourne in the ITV soap, as they teased what’s next for the couple.

The 25-year-old actress admitted it’s been ‘heartbreaking’ filming Sinead’s tragedy and is constantly meeting fans in tears.

‘We have had a lot of women come up to me – some even crying telling me their personal emotive stories,’ she began. ‘And I well up every time because we are making a real impact in peoples’ lives.’

‘Real people are being affected by this day in day out,’ Katie continued. ‘And that’s the aspect of this whole storyline. We’re trying to help real people go through it.’

But when Katie was asked if there was another twist in store, she gave an ominous: ‘Possibly.’

Sinead was warned her cancer could return at any time and with Katie tipped to be leaving the cobbles over the coming months, it’s not looking good.

A Coronation Street spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘Katie is fully committed to playing out the extremely important storyline she is currently portraying on screen.

‘This story still has a long way to go. Any speculation threatens to undermine the storyline for viewers.’

If reports that Katie is leaving the soap turn out to be true, those fears could well be raised further, with fans left wondering if Sinead might be killed off. The actress herself has admitted that much as she loves Corrie, she is also keen to explore other opportunities in the future.

‘I’ve really enjoyed my time on the Street and it’d be amazing if I got to stay as it is like a family here,’ she said earlier this year. ‘But at the same time, as an actor, I’d love to go out there and see what there is, I like doing different things and it’d be exciting to see if I could play a different character again.’

Katie and Rob were also joined by Julia Goulding and Jack P. Shepherd, who warned we may discover who caused the Underworld roof to collapse and kill Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia) sooner than we thought.

‘I think you find out tonight,’ joked David Platt star Jack. ‘I just made that up!’

But Julia, who stars as David’s girlfriend Shona Ramsey promised: ‘I’m not sure when you find out but it will be very soon.’

Tony Hutchinson is set to get a blast from the past later this year when his dad – a surgeon by the name of Edward – rocks up in Hollyoaks after the pair haven’t seen each other for years. With Tony settled into married life with Diane (Alex Fletcher), will Edward turn his life upside down.

The show cas cast Joe McGann in the role. He has previously had recurring roles on Casualty, Night and Day, The Upper Hand and Rochliffe’s Babies. His film credits include Puckoon, Food of Love and The Brylcreem Boys.

Speaking about his new role, he said: ‘I’m so looking forward to joining the cast of Hollyoaks. It’s such a great team on both sides of the camera, and I hope to fit in. My mum is really proud to have a surgeon in the family’.

Executive producer Bryan Kirkwood said: ‘Tony Hutchinson, played by the hugely talented Nick Pickard has been at the heart of Hollyoaks since it began. He is estranged from his father and we felt that as we approach Hollyoaks’ 25th anniversary next year it is time to learn more about our biggest character.

‘Kind-hearted, sensitive, loveable Tony has in recent years has overcome every parent’s worst nightmare, a critically unwell child. He is now happily settled into married life with Diane – in fact he’s never needed a father figure less.

‘But in autumn events will bring Edward Hutchinson to Hollyoaks village and we can’t wait to see the phenomenal Joe McGann bring this huge character to life. I’m thrilled to welcome him to the cast.’

Whether Edward is a hero or a villain remains to be seen but the fact that Tony barely mentions him and has not seen him in so long suggests that he will be less than thrilled when he eventually turns up.

Joe will start filming this summer.

Former Coronation Street actor Bruno Langley, who was axed from the show for committing sexual assaults in which he drunkenly groped women in a nightclub, is reportedly living with a 27-year-old who is married to a fraudster who was jailed for 10 years in 2017.

Bruno admitted two counts of sexual assault and had been axed from Corrie by bosses, with him being immediately written out of storylines. In 2017 he plead guilty and got a 12-month community order forcing him to wear an electronic tag and was put on the sex offenders’ register for five years.

The Sun now reports that he moved in with Lucy France just months after her husband Jonathan was incarcerated after siphoning more than £6 million from his company to fund a lavish lifestyle.

Metro.co.uk has approached both Bruno and Lucy for comment and is awaiting response. Bruno declined to comment to The Sun.

A source told them: ‘He’s got himself caught up in a love tryst between a gorgeous blonde and her dodgy-dealing husband. They’re not even trying to keep it quiet. Lucy has shared pictures of them together on social media.

The social media accounts of Lucy are private and Bruno hasn’t updated his Twitter in a year.
He had played Todd in Coronation Street for a number of years and is now said to be working as a photographer.

Megan Macey is leaving Emmerdale, as actress Gaynor Faye quits the show
Megan Macey is leaving, but what will her exit look like? (Picture: ITV)

The dust has barely settled on the news of Lisa Dingle‘s (Jane Cox) death, and Emmerdale is already set to lose another character.

Actress Gaynor Faye, who plays Megan Macey, has quit the show.

According to OK! Magazine, the actress wants to work on other projects.

Her character was introduced to Emmerdale as the sister of Declan Macey (Jason Merrells), and has been part of major plot lines including an ongoing war with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), as well as a tumultuous romantic relationship with Frank Clayton (Michael Praed) and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough).

The time has come for Megan to exit Emmerdale, but when is she going?

When is Megan Macey actress Gaynor Faye leaving Emmerdale?

ITV’s Emmerdale producers are yet to announce when fans can expect to say goodbye to Megan.

And there are also no hints as to how it will happen.

Megan is no stranger to dangerous situations, having gone through a difficult birth with daughter Eliza (Kyrena Robinson) and also recently been in a car accident with Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell).

It’s likely producers might use the consequences of the accident – which Megan caused because she was texting while driving – as the on-screen excuse for her departure.

Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) could accuse Megan of not being fit to look after Eliza, which could perhaps prompt her to leave the village.

But Emmerdale is known for its dramatic exits and we anticipate there might be a much more sudden ending in Megan’s future.
