Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) has received a phone call from her dream job at the race track to tell her she’s got the gig, but she’s scared to tell Dean (Patrick O’Connor) – especially because of his reaction last time. However, Ben (Rohan Nichol) tells her she has to come clean, with the urgency to do so building as she has to leave the Bay soon.
However, what Ziggy doesn’t know is that Dean already knows she accepted the job offer. He found out when a message from her new boss popped up on her phone screen as it lay on the table, leaving it easy for him to connect the dots.
Ziggy asks Willow how she would tell Dean news he won’t be happy about, but this is something Willow is struggling with herself. However, she tells Ziggy they make a good couple, so she should remind Dean of that.
Dean is hurt Ziggy didn’t tell him about the job (Picture: Channel 5)
Ziggy creates a ‘perfect’ date night for them, hoping to soften the blow, but Dean guesses what she’s up to and knows she’s just trying to butter him up. He’s frustrated by her lack of trust and is a no-show for their date.
The day comes for Ziggy to leave the Bay, and she goes to find Dean. However, Dean jumps in by saying he already knows. A row begins as Dean says he’s angry she kept it from him, and it gets worse when Ziggy says she’s leaving the Bay today.
Dean presumes the worst and shuts down. Ziggy tries to tell him she still wants to be with him, but Dean is hurt by her decision and pushes her away, saying she would have told him sooner if he was really important to her. They’re over.
What will become of Ned this week in Neighbours? (Picture: Channel 5)
Nerves are running high in Neighbours this week as Ned (Ben Hall) is left staring down the barrel of a gun, Finn (Rob Mills) commits a betrayal, and Hendrix (Benny Turland) is shocked by a sudden death.
Ned is hell-bent on putting a stop to Zenin before he does something to hurt Yashvi (Olivia Junkeer), but his decision to go it alone lands him in a life-threatening situation.
Hendrix (Benny Turland) is left devastated by a shock death and it looks like Harlow (Jemma Donovan) is to blame).
Finn (Rob Mills) and Elly (Jodi Anasta) cross the line they’ve been so carefully tip-toeing around, what will this mean for poor Bea (Bonnie Anderson)?
Jane (Annie Jones) is left heartbroken and horrified when she finds out her online lover isn’t who he said he is. So who is he?
And a whole load of nudity is about to hit Erinsborough. Think Magic Mike, Neighbours stylie.
Here’s what’s ahead next week in Neighbours.
1. Ned taken hostage at gun point
Desperate Zenin takes Ned hostage (Picture: Channel 5)
Ned is anxiously waiting for the police to do something to catch Zenin, but the wait is getting to him. So much so that when he overhears Yashvi on a suspicious phone call, he jumps to conclusions and suspects she’s working with Zenin. He decides to confront the dangerous crook himself, but he doesn’t bank on Zenin being armed and dangerous, and being surrounded by his cronies. And Zenin doesn’t bank on the police arriving to take him down. Backed into a corner, armed, and with nothing to lose, he takes Ned hostage and he’s prepared to do anything to fight for freedom. Is this it for Ned?
2. Hendrix rocked by shock death
Hendrix is annoyed by Mark’s sudden return and decides to distract himself by turning his attentions to spending quality time with Clementine the cat. But the two of them keep getting in the way of Harlow and making her allergies flare up. She hates the cat and it causes tensions to rise between her and Hendrix.
Not long later devastating news hits the Willis’, Clementine is found dead. Did Harlow do this on purpose?

With Lucy back town Chloe is determined to prove herself, but Lucy is not impressed. And an email puts paid to Chloe’s hopes of a successful expo – are her plans for Princess Mary’s attendance dashed? But despite trying to keep away, he finds himself alone with Elly and when he’s gripped by a sudden flash of a memory, he kisses her. Whoops, that’s the line finally crossed and both are left absolutely shocked by his actions. Elly flees. Later she returns and they agree they need to stay away from each other to bury what happened, Elly is clearly a trigger for Finn. But now Finn’s guilt is worse than ever, will he confess all to Bea?
5. Jane’s love life woes
Jane has been catfished (Picture: Channel 5)
After her shock discovery about her internet lover, Jane heads to the school to follow up on a suspicion, but she is rumbled by Susan digging through the files. She manages to talk her way out of it, saying she was just looking through the files to brush up on the students and staff she’s worked with before so that she’s ready to work with them again, and Susan buys it but remains suspicious. Jane and Dipi start to investigate ‘Richard’ and their search starts to get risky.
Jane finds a poem that’s fallen out of student Richie’s schoolbag and she begins to wonder if she’s found her ‘Richard’. She questions the schoolboy about his personal life and when he starts to grow uncomfortable she puts him on detention so they can spend more time together and she can find out more. What will Jane discover? Is she taking things too far?
6. Get ready for a naked brunch
An interesting invitation lands in the postboxes of Ramsay Street – to the Waterhole’s Naked Brunch. Toadie takes an interest and buys a ticket, and so do Aaron and Kyle. Karl is also keen to get in on the action. Shane meanwhile knows Roxy is behind it and reminds her she doesn’t have permission for this but with ticket sales through the roof she’s pretty sure she can pull this off. What the heck has she got herself into? Are we about to see half of Ramsay Street in the nuddy?
Scenes air from Monday 17th December at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
He has escaped death at the hands of the Mitchells once, but the most foolish and deadly thing that Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) could have done is to return to the scene of where everyone wants him dead in EastEnders? Will he get a chance at escaping the wrath or has he sealed his own fate?
Filled with anger and revenge against Ben (Max Bowden) for his sending of Martin Fowler (James Bye) to kill him, Keanu recently returned and took Callum Highway (Tony Clay) hostage, determined to show Ben what it feels like to lose someone he loves.
And he isn’t messing around either as he makes it very clear that he is prepared to kill Callum. As ben tries to fight for a way to save the man he loves, he starts losing control but Phil (Steve McFadden) has his own plan and he targets Keanu’s mum Karen (Lorraine Stanley), warning her that she will get hurt if he doesn’t get to Keanu.
Meanwhile, after a run in with Sharon (Letitia Dean) who then goes into labour (yep, it’s a complicated week, folks!), ben ends up face to face with Keanu – but is he too late to save Callum?
A series of events leads Keanu onto the Thames party boat with the rest of the Queen Vic revellers but Ben and Phil soon close in for a showdown that has been bubbling for some time.
As a violent altercation gets underway, their actions lead to deadly consequences on the boat of doom – and at least one person aboard will die as lives are thrown into chaos.
But with both Ben and Phil wanting Keanu’s blood, does he have a chance of escaping with his life this time? Or will it finally be game over as he has pushed the Mitchells too far this time?
One to watch: Thursday 20 February at 7:30pm on BBC One.
With rustlers refusing to leave well enough alone, it’s a stressful time for returnee Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) in Emmerdale, but matters are set to get much worse in the coming episodes, when — amid discussions about the end of her marriage to Cain (Jeff Hordley) — her husband ends up shooting someone.
With Moira continually checking for rustlers, she’s left exhausted, but the more interesting news comes when she reveals that she signed the divorce papers — which Cain handed to her during the previous week — to a shocked Matty (Ash Palmisciano) and Victoria (Isabel Hodgins).
Victoria encourages Moira to talk to Cain once more, suggesting that there might be hope for them once the dust settles, but before she has the time to think about what Victoria’s said, Nate (Jurrell Carter) arrives to warn her about the rustlers.
(Picture: ITV)
Nate asks Cain if he could perhaps help in sorting things between he and Moira — something which Cain’s not willing to discuss with him, but when Cain refers to Moira as his missus, the young farmhand is convinced that he’s still in love with her.
The following day, Cain pays a concerned Moira a visit, and they’re both perturbed when they hear a noise outside. Thankfully, it’s just a door, and Moira uses this opportunity to ask Cain where he got the gun he’s holding from.
However, when Cain refuses to open up, Moira thinks he’s still got feelings for her, but he deflects and heads off into the fields.
While there, Cain discovers the body of a dead sheep and rushes back towards the barn, and — when inside — he ends up shooting a man approaching Moira, whom we’re led to believe is a rustler.
However, when the flashlight is shone in his face, it’s someone whom they seemingly recognise.
Jade Rowan (Lottie Henshall) is used to manipulating the situation to her own favour in Coronation Street, but it appears as if she’s not to keen on someone else doing so at the expense of her, as — in the coming episodes — Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) does just that, and thus Jade is left seething.
With Jade being allowed visits with Hope, Fiz and Tyrone (Alan Halsall) have no choice but to comply.
However, Fiz is less than pleased about it — and in the coming episodes — she confides in Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) that Jade is hoping to take Hope to the crafts workshop in the community centre, but that she has no interest in taking Ruby.
(Picture: ITV)
As a result, Fiz decides to take Ruby herself, and thus she and Tyrone show up at the event. However, Hope makes it clear that she prefers Jade’s company to Fiz’s, and Fiz is naturally hurt as a result.
Later in the week, Christine shows up in the hopes of arranging another visit with Jade, but — fed up of the arrangement — Fiz decides to lie and thus makes out they’re all setting off on holiday.
Later, Fiz and Tyrone set off with Ruby and Hope for a holiday — and Jade’s far from pleased.
One to watch: Wednesday 22 January at 8:30pm on ITV.
And new pictures have now been released from the dreaded bash, appearing to confirm who dies.
In the photos, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) – who returned at the very end of last night’s instalment – can be seen looking glum as a team paramedics pull a body from the water.
At one point, he bends over the body in question, while another shows doctors performing CPR, as an anxious Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) paces on a lifeboat.
Seeing as the pair are both looking on anxiously, it appears the person is known to both of them – could this mean the past has finally caught up to Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden)?
While Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), Dotty Cotton (Molly Conlin) and Dennis Rickman (Harry Hickles) are also among those who could be fatally injured.
And, with Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) confirmed to be leaving for good, could she also meet a tragic ending?

It’s not looking good for one Walford resident (Picture: ISO Images)
Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) – who has had a close bond with Bex in the past – is spotted watching frantically from the dock, where he stands surrounded by ambulances and police vans.
The worried expressions tease that it’s not looking too good for whoever was in the water, with the police vans suggesting there is more trouble ahead for the Walford gang.

A dramatic trailer has teased a week filled with explosive scenes, with nearly every resident affected by the drama.
Conflict will inevitably ensue for Mick and Linda Carter (Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright), who are hosting the boat party to celebrate winning the Best Pub in London competition. The pair have been ripped apart in recent weeks, with Linda’s drinking causing tension.
The teaser reveals she gets trapped, leaving a desperate Mick searches for her – but will he get there in time?

Viewers were given a taste of things to come on Friday’s episode, with Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) killing twisted stalker Leo King (Tom Wells) in self-defence.
But, with Mick already struggling to cope with his family life falling apart by the seams, will he be able to pick up yet more pieces?

Things are also not looking positive for Keanu (Danny Walters), as Phil seeks revenge on him for sleeping with Sharon (Letitia Dean). After being tricked into thinking he was dead, he was given a rude awakening by son Ben (Max Bowden) who desperately begged him for £100,000.
And the drama collides as a very-pregnant Sharon goes into labour, with Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) by her side.
It is not yet known how far Phil will go in a bid to get revenge on the former lovers, but we wouldn’t put anything past him.
Executive producer Jon Sen has insisted that soap fans won’t be forgetting the upcoming episodes in a hurry, teasing that they will ‘go down in EastEnders history’.
Speaking about the anniversary episodes, he said: ‘For the 35th anniversary we wanted to entertain the EastEnders audience on the iconic river which has heralded the start of the show for 35 years.
‘This unmissable week of episodes is destined to be exciting, gripping and heart-breaking – it will be a week that will go down in EastEnders history.’

Ryder (Lukas Radovich) has been besotted with Jade (Mia Morrissey) since she turned up in the Bay, and since taking their relationship to the next level by sleeping together, he has been hoping to make their romance official. Bringing her flowers, he hopes to impress her, but she barely notices and makes a swift exit to go to the beach.
Later, while they’re at work, Ryder sees Jade taking money out of the till and becomes suspicious. He asks her about it, but she brushes it off, saying it’s just her tip.
The situation heats up later when Mackenzie (Emily Weir) is closing up and says they’re $50 short. Jade denies even taking a cash payment, and Ryder decides to cover for her by saying he left $50 in his pocket by accident.
Ryder and Jade have been seeing each other (Picture: Channel 5)
Ryder pushes Jade to explain herself, especially as he’s now $50 short, and she continues to evade his questions. Eventually, she becomes frustrated and kicks him out of her caravan.
Later, he tries to approach her again, and she tells him about how she’s trying to send money back home to her family. Ryder is forgiving and wants to help, and Jade says she’s happy he’s so sweet and wants to go back to how things were.
Ryder gets Alf (Ray Meagher) to agree on a rent extension for Jade as she deals with her cash flow problem – but at work, when Ryder is distracted, we see Jade pocket the cash from a drinks order…
Dean drinks following his breakup with Ziggy (Picture: Channel 5)
As a result of Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) accepting her dream job and leaving the Bay, Dean (Patrick O’Connor) has decided to end it – but he isn’t dealing with the breakup well. As Ziggy says goodbye to her parents and drives away towards her new life, Dean avoids calling her and lets her slip away.
In the caravan park, Dean takes to drinking, and Colby (Tim Franklin) confiscates his car keys in an effort to stop his friend from getting into trouble. However, Dean finds other ways to damage himself, going to Salt and demanding whisky.
Mackenzie (Emily Weir) is concerned and tries to help Dean, but he doesn’t want to listen. Meanwhile, John (Shane Withington) is annoyed when he sees Dean’s surf class hanging around and complains to Ben that he’s late.

Ryder (Lukas Radovich) overhears and tells Ben that Dean has been drinking upstairs for a while. Ben goes to find him and asks if he’s forgotten about the class. Mackenzie is shocked that he’s drinking when he’s meant to be working and takes the drink away.
Dean becomes angered with everyone butting in and goes down to the class, telling them the lesson is cancelled. Ben tries to get Dean to control himself, but this just makes Dean angrier and he quits his job at the board shop, storming away…
There was a mercy dash for Ruby (Maddy Hill) in tonight’s Casualty as she raced to save the life of her baby niece, Harmony. The baby’s mother, Violette (Kelly Gough), had bumped into her ex-boyfriend and fellow addict Arlo and it didn’t take much persuasion before Violette was taking drugs again.
A small relapse could possibly have been copable-with, and forgivable to Ruby. But what made the situation infinitely worse was that Harmony was already ill and Violette’s actions put her life in danger. When Violette called Ruby for help and was told to bring the baby straight to the ED, she refused because she thought social services would take the baby away if it came out that she’d relapsed. Instead she tried to get on a train to London – even though Will (Jack Nolan) had informed her by phone that it was highly likely that Harmony had meningitis.
Luckily Will also heard a train in the background on the call, so Ruby hurtled to the station and persuaded Violette to let her take the baby to the hospital. Harmony was treated in time and will be fine, but Robyn was livid that Violette had been turning her home into a drugs den and she kicked her and the baby out. That was all Ruby needed to hear to convince her that she needed to get a lawyer and go for custody of Harmony herself. ‘You’re a danger to her and you’re a danger to yourself!’ she told her sister.
When Will wasn’t busy diagnosing and looking after Harmony, he was doing a report that Connie Beauchamp (Amanda Mealing) wanted finished by the end of the shift. To get the data he needed, he had to call in the services of the hospital’s IT department, in the form of a woman called Lara. This was the same Lara that Will had spent the previous night with (when he should have been working on the report, ironically).
She assumed he was just making an excuse to see her again, and he assumed she wanted a serious relationship when all he wants is a bit of no-strings-attached fun and the occasional hand with his data (not a euphemism). She said she was also after no-strings-attached fun but she didn’t like his attitude – and then she promptly deleted his report and left him to face the wrath of Mrs Beauchamp. Oh, how we laughed.
Time to call a truce? (Picture: BBC)
Ethan (George Rainsford) was back at work but, unless I missed it, didn’t mention the very recent loss of one of the longest-serving nurses in the department. All thoughts this week were apparently back on Mason’s death instead. Of course this affected Rash (Neet Mohan) more than anyone, and he was still blaming Ethan for not giving Mason enough support when he needed it. A sick child and his exhausted father gave the two of them the opportunity to work together and finally clear the air between them. Ethan admitted he was still shaken by the events of the market explosion and Rash said he still saw Mason dead on the floor every day. I’m tempted to say someone should have picked him up by now, but that would be flippant.
And we saw Archie (Genesis Lynea) talking to her hero Dr Megan (Emily Woof) about an ‘opportunity’ and a ‘departure.’ Is Archie thinking of moving on?
Sue Haasler is the author of five novels and the official BBC Holby City book, which you can read about here.
Casualty continues Saturday 22 February on BBC One.
It’s safe to say that Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) has been eagerly anticipating the opening of The Cunningham’s Grand Bazaar in Hollyoaks, and — in the coming episodes — the very day that she’s been waiting for arrives.
It’s been an incredibly tough year for Cindy as, determined to start afresh, she decided to go into business with beau Luke (Gary Lucy), and — with financial support from Tom (Ellis Hollins) — they began making preparations for their new venture — something which Cindy named the Cunningham’s Grande Bazaar.
However, disaster struck — quite literally — as the building work descended into chaos as part of the soap’s signature October stunt, and matters became much worse when a drunk Luke entered the machinery and caused chaos.
(Picture: Lime Pictures)
In spite of everything, the pair manage to make their dreams come true, as the opening day of Cunningham’s Grande Bazaar arrives — and the village is buzzing as a result. Cindy and Luke rock a pair of matching red outfits — and all eyes are on them — but problems arise for Tom, as he panics when he loses the cue cards for his speech.
Will the day go off without a hitch?
It’s something that both Luke and Cindy have been greatly looking forward to, and —what with everything they’ve been through this year — it would be nice to see them share a moment of happiness.
This is the moment which sees the passengers of the EastEnders party boat reel from the fact that a tragedy has unfolded – and someone is going to die. But who is the victim as a crisis unfolds on board?
New pictures show the moment that the ship captain is forced to stop the celebrations and announce that there has been a serious incident on board – and characters such as Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Mo Harris (Laila Morse) react with horror.
As storylines merge together in dramatic showdowns, a catalyst sees a disaster play out and at least one character ends up in the depths of the Thames, with someone not set to resurface. The passengers are thrown into turmoil and recue missions are launched as several favourites fight for their lives.
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and husband Mick (Danny Dyer) are in the firing line as her drunken behaviour sees her teeter towards the edge while a showdown between Ben and Phil Mitchell (Max Bowden and Steve McFadden) with Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) ends up in violence.
(Picture: BBC)
Meanwhile, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) is seeking revenge on Dennis Rickman (Bleu Landau) while Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) could also be in trouble if Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) brings drugs on board.
A trailer recently showcased some of the dramatic scenes and lives will change forever for certain character groups as one life is ended and a family has to deal with the fallout – while at least one other person is hiding a shocking secret.
The episodes mark the 35th anniversary of the soap and will see the same fateful night played out again from different angles. And for one person, it’s the last day alive…
EastEnders kicks off its anniversary week on Monday 17 February at 8pm on BBC One.
They have had more fallouts than Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) has had punches to the face but Jack and Max Branning (Scott Maslen and Jake Wood) are about to clash again in EastEnders – just before the party boat on the Thames hits disaster leading to at least one death. Will this be the final bout for the brothers?
When Jack admits that Lauren has turned to him in the wake of splitting from Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson), Max is seething and accuses his brother of betraying him. As they argue, it turns to violence and Jack ends up punching Max. But will he regret his actions?
We have seen pictures of Jack screaming with horror as the boat disaster unfolds – has he accidentally pushed Max overboard? Meanwhile, Peter is back in Walford after an emergency call from a distressed Kathy (Gillian Taylforth).
Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) has been left for dead in a brutal Islamophobic attack carried out by thugs. Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) witnesses it and texts Kathy with the knowledge of who has been bullying Bobby online after Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) admits she knows.
As Ian (Adam Woodyatt) discovers the identity of the bully, he can’t contain his rage and marches onto the boat to carry out his revenge. With his temper on edge, it is unknown how far he is prepared to go to avenge his son, who may not pull through.
Kathy remains with Bobby but when she then gets a call from Ben (Max Bowden), she has to leave the hospital – so she calls on Peter and begs him to come and stay with his brother.
As Peter arrives, will Bobby pull through? And as the boat disaster subsides, will Max and Jack survive to confront Peter over what has happened with Lauren?
With the Beales and Brannings in crisis once more, can Peter help heal the gaping rifts?
One to watch: Tuesday 18 February at 7:30pm on BBC One.
Tori is transported to Northern Districts (Picture: Channel 5)
Justin (James Stewart) has been trying to get Tori (Penny McNamee) moved to Northern Districts, and he gets a call saying she’s stable enough to be transported. However, the hospital doesn’t have any ICU beds available, so they have to wait.
However, a bed soon becomes available, and Justin tells Robbo (Jake Ryan) that once she’s moved, they’re going to see if she can breathe on her own. Robbo asks what will happen if this doesn’t work, but Justin doesn’t want to think about that.
Jasmine (Sam Frost) is shocked to hear that the specialists have signed off on the move, saying she’d never agree if it was her own family. Robbo tells Justin about the risks Jasmine has brought up, and he’s left worrying he’s doing the wrong thing for his sister.
Justin and Mason worry about Tori (Picture: Channel 5)
The move goes well, and the next day, the specialist will try taking her off sedation to see if she will wake up. However, she fails to respond, and a desperate Justin asks Robbo to bring Grace to her bedside.
When Grace begins crying, a miracle happens and Tori finally opens her eyes. Clearly disoriented, all she can do is stare blankly ahead. The Masons’ relief turns to worry – has Tori suffered permanent brain damage from her stroke?
Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) alcoholism has well and truly spiralled out of control in EastEnders over the past couple of months, but — with one Walford resident set to lose their life on a party boat on The Thames as part of the soap’s 35th anniversary — will Linda’s reliance on the booze seal her fate and thus result in her meeting her demise aboard the boat?
The day of the boat party arrives, but there’s little reason to celebrate for Mick (Danny Dyer), as he reels from having actually signed the divorce papers during the previous episode.
However, Linda’s seemingly in the party mood, as she revels in her divorce, but Shirley (Linda Henry) interrupts her moment, and the pair come to blows over what’s transpired.
(Picture: BBC)
Shirley offers Linda an olive branch — as she attempts to help her daughter-in-law see that deep down, she still loves Mick. But will her words have any impact?
Meanwhile, the residents of the Square get in the party mood, but when a drunk Linda sets her sights upon Mick in Whitney’s (Shona McGarty) company, she jumps to the wrong conclusion and thus instructs the coach to leave without them.
During the boat party, Linda continues to drink and, before long she embarrasses herself once more — leaving Mick at a loss as to how to move forward.
With chaos set to ensue not long afterwards — and Linda in a bad way in terms of her alcoholism — could she be set to lose her life in a tragic accident?
Perhaps her paranoia will set in once more, and she’ll confront Whitney — or Mick — over what she believes she saw which could result in a fight ensuing?
Or perhaps she’ll simply get too drunk and fall overboard?
With a heinous murder having occurred in recent weeks, it’s safe to say that the eponymous village of Emmerdale is anything but safe right now, and the Taylor clan are set to discover that the hard way, as Lucas takes hold of a real gun in the coming episodes while playing with Will (Dean Andrews) and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle).
Lucas arrives for a visits in the coming episodes, and Dawn (Olivia Bromley) is evidently worried, as she hopes everything will go according to plan.
Billy wastes little time in lightening the mood, as he builds Lucas a fort with pillows — and Lucas seems very happy to be in their company as a result.
(Picture: ITV)
However, Lucas’s fort collapses around him and Dawn snaps — which seemingly alarms the young boy. As a result, Dawn is now convinced that she’s ruined everything.
The following day, Will orchestrates a kids fun blaster fight, but matters get out of hand when Lucas enters the room holding a real gun instead of a blaster gun — something which leaves Billy worried.
Will is horrified at what has unfolded, but Billy patiently manages to get Lucas to hand the gun over to him.
Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) and Billy soon come to the realisation that the gun in question belongs to Will, but the pair are left torn when Will suggests that if they reveal the truth to Dawn it could lead to her losing custody of Lucas.
Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) and Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) have resisted their feelings for one another in Coronation Street for quite some time now, but it appears as if they’re refusing to do so any longer, as the pair make something of a controversial decision in the coming episodes.
When wife Sinead (Katie McGlynn) was dying, Daniel found himself unable to cope and thus sought solace in Bethany. The pair had previously demonstrated something of a connection, but they had managed to refrain from acting on said connection — that is, until they kissed when emotions were running high.
In the months that have followed, Daniel was incredibly conflicted over his actions, and felt as if he’d let Sinead down. As a result, he put his own feelings aside and decided to put Bertie first — as it was not only the right thing to do, but it was also what Sinead would’ve wanted.
However, emotions were running high once more over the last couple of weeks, as Bertie ended up in hospital, and Bethany came to Daniel’s aid once more.
The pair shared yet another kiss, and in the weeks since, it’s become clear that the chemistry between them is simply too clear to ignore.
In the coming episodes, Gail (Helen Worth) hosts a party for Oliver, and Bethany arrives with Daniel in tow.
Adam (Sam Robertson) learns that Sarah (Tina O’Brien) has invited the whole factory to their wedding, and points out that Beth (Lisa George) might kick off at Bethany and Daniel, as it appears as if they’re intent on going together.
One to watch: Friday 21 February at 8:30pm on ITV.
Whether or not you’re an EastEnders fan (and if you’re not, we can’t be friends, sorry), next week will be event television for anyone who can appreciate ensemble drama packed with excitement, tension, action, high stakes, humour and surprises.
EastEnders is a massive team and every single member of the company has pored their heart and love into making the anniversary ‘boat death’ week something fans will remember forever as the show marks becoming 35.
At the epicentre of the madness and chaos is director David Kester, well known in soapland, who admitted to Metro.co.uk when we caught up with him that despite being at the helm of some huge soap episodes in the past, this was his biggest challenge to date – but he loved it!
He told us: ‘I’d say it’s possibly the most ambitious thing I’ve ever done. It was complicated just logistically trying to put something this together, on the river Thames, with a big cast and at night! In terms of storytelling, there’s no real B-story. Every single story has been building up over the last year and they all come together. They’re great EastEnders episodes – dark, complicated, full of heart – it’s been such an exciting thing to be a part of.’
We wouldn’t even like to imagine what has to go into getting a company of hundreds onto a boat in winter to film massive storylines as well as stunt sequences – but given the hype and the fact it is such a milestone, did David feel the pressure?
He smiled: ‘There’s always pressure because you always want to do a good job for every episode and for every fan. So you have to live and breathe the script. Of course there is pressure but that’s exciting too.
‘When I first read the script I thought, how the hell are we going to pull this off? But location deparments and production teams were amazing – the scripts are so good and I was on board with the planning a little earlier than normal to spend time with the writers and work out how to visualise and stage it. You don’t normally get that in soap, the way they are made – so it really helped us pull it off.’
Then of course there’s the continuity aspect – given that the same day is told several times from the perspective of various people, that must come with an extra set of challenges and potential traps for a director.

David agreed: ‘That’s a really good point. The narrative is broken up and, as you correctly say, the same day plays over and over but from a different viewpoint. So you might often see the same scene or moment again but from a different angle and will see some things that won’t necessarily make so much sense until the episode which follows.
‘It was challenging and required a lot of explanation and the cast were amazing and got into spirit of playing the same moment again in the same way. Little things happen that aren’t explained for a while but by the time you get to Friday, it builds to this big crescendo where it all comes together.’
And David, as ever, is of the viewpoint that the big story isn’t the stunts or the bells and whistles – but the drama at the centre of it.
He enthused: ‘EastEnders fans care about characters and their enotional journey. My job is to make the technicalities blend into the background so the actors are at the forefront and able to do their job. We did a lot of work but I hope the technicalities are almost invisible. We spent a lot of time planning and prepping and had to run things over and over so everything is tied together.
‘It’s a mammoth journey then you get the stunt performers involved and production management. Just moving that massive production unit onto the Thames, at night, in central London, with all those people, was huge. I hope the viewers don’t notice the technicalities too much but are so absorbed in the story. It’s not all acton, there are some hilarious moments and heartwrenching moments.
‘There are surprises and certainly on Friday, there is some unbearable tension. There are great performances and a great script. A stunty event for the sake of it never works. With anything I have ever done, I always try and follow the character’s emotional journey as that’s where the drama is – if it happens to be spectacular too, then that helps. One of the great things is you see so much of London and that’s what EastEnders is all about. So the River Thames is almost like another character from the opening credits, so it’s very fitting and you really feel you’re immersed in it hopefully.’

And then came the big moment – watching it back. But there was more work to be done by David and others in the editing suite to pull it all together and, having seen the episodes over and over, David happens to be taking a holiday next week while the episodes air.
But how did he feel when he first saw what the hard work had led to?
He laughed: ‘My first thought was no wonder I was so tired! There’s a lot to them – so much love and effort went into them. I’ve seen thema thousnad times,. sitting in a dark room editing it. We shot a lot of it with high lens cameras so it has a filmic look and we had some sound mix stuff to do as well to give the big moments a cineamtic feel.
‘I’m just delighted and just love to watch them – they’re great EastEnders episodes. We’re really proud of them.’
EastEnders’ anniversary is this week and the episodes kick off on Monday 17 February at 8pm on BBC One. They promise to be spectacular.
News of her tragic death promoted Annie to leave Twitter ‘for an unknown period of time’ and in a statement, she vowed to ‘take her life back’.
‘Dear Friends… I’ve been close to this moment for a long time now, but today’s news of another tragic death, exacerbated by mainstream and social media, has made up my mind,’ Annie began.
‘Because people are free to create anonymous accounts and spew hatred unchecked.

‘Because there are plenty of people who think this is some kind of sport and real lives aren’t affected… because some people feel they have a god-given right to abuse others in pursuit of their narrow agendas or entertainment and because this is happening every day, in varying degrees, and is seriously affecting people’s mental health…’
Annie continued: ‘I am locking my account at midnight and resting Twitter for an unknown time period. I might return, I might not.

Caroline has passed away aged 40 (Picture: Getty)
‘From now on, please use my Facebook page, which I will maintain, and visit from time to time, to contact me. Time to take back my life. You should too. I’ll continue to work for the charities of which I’m patron, but in the real world, not use this Twitter madness.
‘PS: Don’t worry… I’m fine, folks… and I’m taking this action to make sure I remain so! Love and hugs Annie.’
‘We are devastated at the loss of our client and friend Caroline Flack,’ a statement read on Saturday. ‘An immensely talented young woman who was at the top of her game professionally and loved by television viewers across the country.
‘In recent months Caroline had been under huge pressure because of an ongoing case and potential trial which has been well reported.
‘The Crown Prosecution Service pursued this when they knew not only how very vulnerable Caroline was but also that the alleged victim did not support the prosecution and had disputed the CPS version of events.
‘The CPS should look at themselves today and how they pursued a show trial that was not only without merit but not in the public interest.
‘And ultimately resulted in significant distress to Caroline. Our thoughts are with Caroline’s family at this time.’
Leah receives a strange phone call (Picture: Channel 5)
The Bay is praying for a miracle as they wait for news on Tori (Penny McNamee), as she is being moved to Northern Districts hospital to be closer to her family. As the specialists plan to try and wake her up, Alf (Ray Meagher) is hit hard by the thoughts of how Grace would be affected by Tori not being in her life.
Alf is reminded of how he and Roo (Georgie Parker) struggled after Martha (Belinda Giblin) disappeared, and Martha is hurt to see the old pain come back to him. Thinking about the community support given to Alf and Roo during their time of need, Martha invites their friends to the house to wait for an update on Tori together.
It’s John (Shane Withington) and Marilyn’s (Emily Symons) wedding anniversary, but the two don’t want to distract from the current situation by renewing their marriage commitment. However, they are persuaded to do so by friends, so their quiet celebration helps to keep spirits up.
Leah has been dating Justin (Picture: Channel 5)
Meanwhile, Tori is being taken off sedation by the specialists as Justin (James Stewart) and Mason (Orpheus Pledger) anxiously wait at her bedside. Robbo (Jake Ryan) and Jasmine (Sam Frost) come with Grace to see if she will finally wake up, and they wait to see if she can breathe on her own.
As Leah (Ada Nicodemou) waits at the house with Martha, Alf and the others, she gets a mysterious call and excuses herself to take it. Stood in the hallway, she soon becomes wary of the person on the other end of the phone. She asks who they are, and her expression becomes grave. She quickly leaves the house…what do they want from her?
Eve is now a star of stage and screen after fearing she’d die from a heroin addiction (Picture: ITV)
Coronation Street actress Eve Steele has opened up about her lifelong struggles with addiction that started with her drinking from the age of 10.
The actress, who played supermarket Anne Malone from 1995 – 1998, revealed that she had turned to drugs by the time she was 12 and had developed a heroin addiction so severe she had ‘accepted that it would kill her’ by age 20.
Thankfully, she decided to turn her life around, and the 48-year-old has now been working on her sobriety for the best part of 30 years, beating her demons and coming out on top.
‘I’d heard alcohol made people sleepy so I started sneaking downstairs at night and having a couple of big glasses of our home brew,’ Eve explained of the start of her career.
‘I can picture myself aged 10, in the kitchen, stroking the cat as I drank – my secret way of coping.
‘I was about 12 when I started taking acid and ecstasy.’

‘I didn’t think it was anything about poor mental health. I just thought doing drugs and drinking alcohol was brilliant,’ she added.
This started a progressive decline for Eve who left her home aged 16 and had ‘given up’ as she started experimenting with worse drugs.
At the age of 21, she decided to get herself clean, and now she’s turning her past into a play in Glasgow’s Tron Theatre, The Political History of Smack and Crack.
Now, she’s staying on the straight and narrow with the help of 12 Step programmes available to her, and has invested her time in acting.
While Anne Malone, her Corrie character, met a less-than savoury end after becoming locked in an industrial freezer, Eve has managed to maintain a warm carer including roles in Doctors and Scott and Bailey.
She’s since added playwright to the list as she moved over onto the stage.
The tale follows life in Thatcher’s Britain, and life in Glasgow, and Eve helped create character Mandy alongside playwright Ed Edwards.
Mandy is seen falling in love as she struggles with addiction and tracks through to modern day marking the taboo around addiction and what it means for those that have one.
