It’s a week of epic proportions in the land of soap — particularly down Walford way — as EastEnders celebrates its 35th anniversary, and it does so in a huge fashion with a week of special episodes that will see one mainstay lose their life aboard a party boat, while over in Coronation Street, James Bailey (Nathan Graham) decides to come out to dad Ed (Trevor Michael Georges).

Meanwhile, over in Emmerdale, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) shoots a resident of the village, while there’s sizzling chemistry between Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) and Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) in Hollyoaks.

EastEnders

1. The day of the much-discussed boat party arrives, but there’s little reason to celebrate, as Mick is still struggling to comprehend the fact that he signed the divorce papers. Linda revels in her divorce but Shirley interrupts her, and the pair come to blows. A drunk Linda sets her sights upon Mick in Whitney’s company, she becomes paranoid and instructs the coach to leave without them.

2. Bobby opens bout the online bullying to Iqra and Habiba, and — later — they’re harassed by a group who recognise Bobby and thus they racially insult them. Bobby defends both himself and Iqra and Habiba, but things escalate as the young man is left fighting for his life.

3. Bex is left shaken when she sees the commotion with Bobby unfold, and she later tells Dotty what happened. However, Dotty reveals that she knows who’s been Bobby’s online bullying — leaving Bex shocked. Ian receives a text from Bex informing him of who’s behind the bullying, and he sets off to the party boat in search of revenge.

4. Ben goes to extreme lengths to prevent Keanu from killing Callum. Meanwhile, Phil is on the warpath over Keanu’s actions, and thus he decides to take matters into his own hands and begins to threaten Karen in order to find Keanu.

5. Sharon informs Dennis that they’re leaving Walford for good, but her plan is stopped in its tracks as a result of Ben. However, matters are made worse as Sharon soon goes into labour.

6. After receiving a call from Ben, Kathy calls Peter and asks him to come to the hospital and keep an eye on Bobby.

7. Denise encourages Jack to be honest with Max about the fact that he’s been helping Lauren after her split from Peter — and he eventually does just that. However, Max isn’t too pleased, and things get violent as Jack ends up punching his brother.

Coronation Street

8. Fiz confides in Evelyn that Jade is hoping to take Hope to the crafts workshop in the community centre, but that she has no interest in taking Ruby. As a result, she decides to take Ruby herself. However, Hope makes it clear that she prefers Jade’s company to Fiz’s, and Fiz is naturally hurt as a result.

9. Christine shows up in the hopes of arranging another visit with Jade, but — fed up of the arrangement — Fiz decides to lie and thus makes out they’re all setting off on holiday.

Gemma and Chesney in Coronation Street
(Picture: ITV)

10. Gemma gets a call later in the week which confirms they have a last minute appointment for Aled’s hearing test, and she decides to go for it. However, she’s later devastated when audiologist confirms that Aled has profound hearing loss in both ears. Chesney and Gemma attempt to take in Aled’s diagnosis, but Gemma struggles, as she learns that her son’s been deaf since birth — which means he’s never heard her say she loves him.

11. Chesney drops Joseph off at sports club. Later, he meets Kevin who reveals that sports club isn’t on — and Chesney’s horrified. He races back to the place where sports club was due to take place, but there’s no sign of Joseph, so he proceeds to search high and low for him.

12. James musters up the courage and reveals to Ed over the breakfast table that he’s gay. Ed struggles to process the news, but he’s more hurt by the fact that both Michael and Aggie knew. Later in the week, Ed is convinced that Danny has corrupted James.

13. Abi’s worried about Ray reporting her to the police, and thus Kevin informs her that it would be in her best interests if she were to invent an alibi, and she decides to do just that, as she asks Sally she’d vouch for her. Ray sees Kevin and Abi looking cosy and reveals that some new evidence has come to light, therefore their days are numbered.

14. Maria later admits to Carla that she slept with Ali, but claims that she regrets doing so, as she wants to be with Gary. As a result, Maria reveals to Gary that she’d love to marry him — and he’s elated as a result. When they announce their engagement, Ali puts on a brave face and shakes his hand. However, he later visits Maria and begs her to reconsider.

Emmerdale

15. Moira reveals to Matty and Victoria that she’s signed the divorce papers, but Victoria encourages her to talk to Cain once more.

16. Cain discovers the body of a dead sheep in the fields and rushes back towards the barn, and he ends up shooting a man approaching Moira, whom we’re led to believe is a rustler. However, when the flashlight is shone in his face, it’s someone whom they seemingly recognise.

Vanessa and Pierce in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

17. Vanessa is taken hostage by Pierce, and her attention soon turns to Johnny’s whereabouts, as she begins to fear that her captor has hurt him. Pierce soon switches the baby monitor on, and Johnny can be heard laughing and giggling — much to Vanessa’s relief — but the evil man threatens to turn the device off once more if she doesn’t follow his rules or if she steps out of line once more.

18. Will orchestrates a kids fun blaster fight, but matters get out of hand when Lucas enters the room holding a real gun instead of a blaster gun — something which leaves Billy worried. Will is horrified at what has unfolded, but Billy patiently manages to get Lucas to hand the gun over to him.

19. Rhona attempts to convince Charity to reconcile with Vanessa, but Charity decides that it would be better for her to stop checking her phone for responses from her girlfriend.

20. Paddy pays Marlon a visit in prison and updates him on the status of the ‘Free Marlon’ campaign. However, that’s not the only reason for his visit, as he asks him to be Eve’s godfather.

Hollyoaks

21. Brooke starts having contractions and thus she goes into labour. Her labour lasts all night, and Ollie is more excited than ever at the prospect of going to the hospital, but he’s angered when his dad cannot go with him, and thus he resolves to go on his own. Brooke later gets stressed, as nothing is going to plan but Ollie arrives and puts her at ease, before his baby boy arrives.

22. Mercedes returns from Spain to discover Warren in her flat with two women — and it’s safe to say she’s not pleased. Warren takes delight in winding her up over the situation, as she decides to throw him out, but as the animosity grows, so does the chemistry and the electricity between the two — but will there be passion?

Maxine in Hollyoaks
(Picture: Lime Pictures)

23. Desperate for money, Maxine goes to Liam, and he offers her a job at the salon. Maxine gives Lisa a job but she continues to be hounded by her landlord, and thus she seeks out Liam once more and asks him for an advance. She agrees to see his associate Clayton again, so Liam buys her some new furniture — not to mention a red dress so that she can entertain the young man.

24. Liberty reveals she’s interested in getting away and clearing her head, and Damon’s concerned, and this tells Brody that she’s leaving with his baby.

25. The opening of the Cunningham’s Grand Bazaar arrives.

This is the steamy moment which sees lust driven Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) and Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) give into their animal magnetism and start ripping each others’ clothes off in a sexual clinch in Hollyoaks – but is there a long term future for the pair? And with both characters as fiery as each other, can they handle one another outside of the bedroom?

After a hellish year, Mercedes and Goldie (Chelsee Healy) resolved to take some time away from the village, and thus — with encouragement from John Paul (James Sutton) — the pair set off for some sun, sea and relaxation.

However, that was several weeks ago, and a lot can happen in a sleepy little village during that time — something which Mercedes finds out for herself in the coming episodes, as she returns from Spain to discover Warren in her flat with two women from the speed dating night — and it’s safe to say she’s not pleased.

Vanessa and Pierce in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

There are intense scenes in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale as things look bleaker than ever for Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), who has been taken hostage by unhinged and vengeful Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather). Fans were horrified when Pierce led Vanessa into a trap after taking the hand of her son Johnny and now he has her as his captive, determined to use her to get to Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry).

As Vanessa panics about what he is capable of and what he is going to do to Johnny – who he initially allows her to hear from via a baby monitor – Charity (Emma Atkins), Tracy (Amy Walsh) and Rhona are anxious about where she has suddenly disappeared to.

Gone without a trace, the worry is high – but the fear soon turns to anger for Charity as she comes to the conclusion that Vanessa has walked out on her. As it seems like Charity is giving up hope on her, she is oblivious to how much danger she is in and she leaves an upset and curt voicemail for her other half.

Vanessa warns Pierce that Charity will find her but, hearing the voicemail from Charity gives a different impression and it seems that Pierce has Vanessa and Johnny where he wants them as Charity has no idea of the true situation and seems angry with Vanessa.

But when Vanessa tries to fight back and Pierce indicates that he is going to hurt Johnny, what is he planning – and is Vanessa set to face every mother’s worst nightmare as she is powerless to help her son?

The drama will continue next week as the hostage situation intensifies – but just what is Pierce’s long term plan? And will Vanessa be saved – or will Charity continue to believe she has just absconed?

Emmerdale continues on Friday 14 February at 7pm on ITV.

Nina and Roy in Coronation Street
(Picture: ITV)

The developing relationship between Roy and his niece is one that is capturing the hearts of many a Corrie fan and viewers will see them bond more and more over coming weeks – especially when they discover a mutual fascination with bats.

It’s no secret that Roy likes a spot of bat watching – even on nights when he does get pushed into canals by Tony Gordon – and he is surprised to find out that Nina would rather give up a chance to go to a gig and join him on a bat spotting night.

As they continue to find common interests, an enthused Roy will introduce Nina to his fellow bat loving friends from the official society (yes, it is a thing) – but when they don’t take to her, Roy gets wonderfully defensive.

A source from the show told Metro.co.uk: ‘We really start to see more of Nina in the coming weeks and months – her connections to Roy and Carla are already hits with fans and will be further explored.

‘We will also see how Roy reacts when his friends at the Bat Society judge Nina for the way she dresses and how it will further solidify the bond.

‘She will also become somewhat of a social conscience for the street as she fights for what she believes in and we will also see her befriend Asha and support her with her ongoing body image struggles.

‘She has a lot of material coming up and the show hopes that the warm reception she is getting from viewers continues to grow.’

EastEnders spoilers: Tom Wells reveals Leo will ‘stop at nothing’ ahead of dramatic showdown with Whitney

Leo King in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

Leo King (Tom Wells) has went out of his way to make Whitney Dean’s (Shona McGarty) life a living hell in EastEnders in his mission to seek revenge on behalf of paedophile dad Tony (Chris Coghill), but — with everything having failed thus far — he attempts to do so once more during tonight’s episode, as he goes to extreme lengths to achieve his goal.

In spite of Whitney having told Leo exactly what Tony was like, the paralegal-in-training has refused to listen, and thus he’s been on a mission to get her to reveal what he believes to be the truth about his dad.

In fact, it’s fair to say that the character has been hellbent on making Whitney pay — in spite of the fact that she’s done nothing wrong — as he even went to the effort to get a pitch on the market so that he could watch her like a hawk.

Leo King in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

Speaking about his character’s motivations, actor Tom said: ‘he needs Whitney to admit she lied about it all, he only wants the truth, or what he thinks is the truth. Until he gets that, he feels he has no other purpose in life, he’s driven by uncovering Whitney’s lies.’

However, his mission has hit quite a few obstacles — from Whitney’s refusal to play his games, to the number of people who’ve demonstrated their support for her, Leo’s been fighting something of an uphill battle.

Speaking about the support Whitney’s received from the community — and how said support proved to be something of a fatal blow to Leo’s plan — Tom said: ‘He’s come to the point where he thinks if he can get Whitney to admit she lied, that would be enough but he completely and utterly does not expect her to get the support from the local community.’

Whitney in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

‘As far as he’s concerned she’s lying, conniving – an awful person and he just assumes everyone secretly thinks that about her too, so he’s stunned. His plan crumbles around him but even though he leaves, it’s soon very obvious that’s it’s not over.’

‘Well, Leo’s hiding out in the attic watching Whitney’s every move. Leo’s very conflicted, he’s basically in love with the person he hates the most.’

‘He blames Whitney for everything that’s happened but in the same breath he loves her. Leo’s a mix of emotions, he’s furious, he’s heart broken and he feels betrayed and those are three very strong feelings. He struggles to contain his emotions this week and as more information comes out, he can’t hide any longer.’

Tom couldn’t be more right about things being far from over, as matters escalate during tonight’s episode, as Leo and Whitney have something of a dramatic showdown — one that will end up with one person having blood on their hands.

But how far will Leo go?

Tom said: ‘Leo will stop at nothing, simply because his life’s purpose is to get what he thinks is the truth and right the wrong that has been done to his dad and family. From his point of view as well, he feels he’s been duped by Whitney, which has thrown even more fuel on the fire. For Leo now, all bets are off, he’ll get the ‘truth’ by any means.’

‘I don’t want to spoil anything for viewers, but everything is laid bare, there is no more pretence – the gloves are off basically. And that’s all I’m going to say (laughs).’

Will Whitney make it out alive? Will Leo?

EastEnders continues Friday 14 February at 8pm on BBC One.

Leo King and Whitney Dean in EastEnders

Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) is terrified to step outside her front door in EastEnders as a result of the horror that Leo King (Tom Wells) has put her through — and little does she know that her stalker has been hiding in her attic, watching her every move — but during last night’s episode Leo turned her home upside down in an effort to locate her letter from Tony (Chris Coghill), and — tonight — they come face-to-face for an epic showdown that leaves one person with blood on their hands.

After months of living in fear in regards to what Leo might do next, Whitney has been unable to leave the house. She believes it to be the safest place to be — but little does she know that her stalker is keeping watch in the attic — lying in wait, as he ponders his next move.

Leo overheard Whitney discussing a letter she’d kept from Tony prior to his death, and therefore the young man turned her house upside down in an effort to locate the item.

Leo in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

He eventually found it, but Whitney was left terrified once more when she returned home to find the place in such a state.

During tonight’s episode, she comes to realise that Tony’s letter is missing, and thus she alerts the police — but as she does so, Leo lurks in Dot’s room.

Ruby (Louisa Lytton) arrives, and — with help from Kat (Jessie Wallace) — she attempts to calm Whitney down, before suggesting that they could all go on the boat party.

Whitney heads off to prepare for the event, but Leo appears in her room, and as she sets her sights on him, she’s horrified. The paralegal is unable to contain the hatred he feels towards Whitney, and thus he becomes hellbent on getting revenge on Tony’s behalf — leaving Whitney in real danger.

Things seemingly escalate, and one person is left with blood on their hands.

The question is: who?

Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) has been falling for Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) in Coronation Street, but the fear of what people might think given that it’s only been a couple of months since Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) passed away is something that he’s been fearful of. However, he makes a shock decision — and announcement — during tonight’s double bill, as he resolves to do as he pleases and therefore makes his relationship with Bethany official by revealing it to everyone in The Rovers.

With Daniel helping Bethany investigate Ray (mark Frost) in recent episodes, the pair have grown incredibly close once more. During the latest instalment, Bethany published her expose online and, afterwards, she ended up sharing a passionate kiss with Daniel.

As a result, Daniel resolved to be happy — as that’s what Sinead wanted, and thus it seemed as if he and Bethany were going to make a proper go of things.

However, as Bethany exited Daniel’s flat, Beth (Lisa George) saw her kissing him, and proceeded to berate the pair of them — claiming that they’re disrespecting Sinead’s memory.

During tonight’s double bill, Beth tears another strip of Daniel — and her words leave him feeling ashamed of his actions. As a result, both he and Bethany agree to cool things off for a while.

Later, he admits to Adam (Sam Robertson) that he really likes Bethany, and thus he finds her in The Rovers, and — in front of all those in attendance — he reveals that he and Bethany are together and thus they’d better get used to it.

How will his announcement go down?

What’s more, how will Beth react?

Willow (Sarah Roberts) has important news to share with Dean (Patrick O’Connor) about her relationship with Alex, but she’s scared to tell him as she’s scared how he will react. Colby (Tim Franklin) and Alex (Zoe Ventoura) both tell her that she should bite the bullet and that there’s no need to be afraid.

However, when she eventually comes clean, she is surprised when he reacts badly. His anger doesn’t come from the fact she’s dating a woman – he is upset about Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) keeping job news from him.

He is also upset that Willow was clearly scared to tell him and was trying to manage his reaction. Unfortunately, he doesn’t make this clear to Willow and she’s left hurt that he isn’t being supportive.

Willow approaches Dean about Alex (Picture: Channel 5)

When Dean goes to Colby’s place to wallow, Colby addresses his attitude. He points out that it would have been hard for Willow to reveal she’s now dating a woman, and Dean let his anger get the better of him.

Dean remains agitated, though, partly due to Ziggy continuing to lie to him. Meanwhile, when Willow relays her conversation with Dean to Alex, she is shocked when Alex suggests they cool things down between them for a bit…

Vanessa and Pierce in Emmerdale
Vanessa Woodfield is currently being kept captive by Pierce (Picture: ITV)

Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) is in grave danger in Emmerdale this week as Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather) has continued his plans to use her and her young son Johnny to get to Rhona (Zoe Henry).

The upcoming episodes will see Charity decide to stop checking her phone for messages from Vanessa after the pair fell out over the stealing of Graham’s money – not realising that Vanessa is in fact in need of desperate help as she has been kidnapped with Johnny and taken hostage by Pierce.

Vanessa and Pierce have a history, as she was the first person to see the villain for who he really was while he was in a relationship with her best friend Rhona. This means that Vanessa is even more likely to be a target of Pierce’s vengeful schemes – but what exactly does he have in mind and is Vanessa’s life in danger?

Is Vanessa Woodfield leaving Emmerdale?

Although actress Michelle Hardwick has not made any announcement about leaving Emmerdale, suggesting there are no plans to have her character exit the soap anytime soon, the star did recently warn that Pierce may kill again now he has returned to Emmerdale – and Vanessa is certainly in harm’s way.

‘Vanessa and Pierce have got history,’ Michelle explained, ‘As soon as he came into the village, Vanessa took an instant dislike to him. She hated the way he was with Rhona and she could see his controlling ways.

‘Nobody else could see it in the village, so Vanessa was the one who tried to warn people.

‘So, has Pierce come back for revenge of some sort and is Vanessa going to be in the firing line for this?’

However, that said, Michelle will appear in next week’s episodes so she is safe for now – and Michelle hasn’t ruled out a future wedding for Vanessa and Charity, suggesting she will make it out of this alive somehow.

The drama will continue on into next week’s episode and the hostage situation is set to intensify. Whether Vanessa will be Pierce’s next victim or if she will be rescued in time remains to be seen – viewers will have to stay tuned to find out.

Emmerdale continues tonight, Friday 14 January at 7pm on ITV.

Keanu, linda and Mick in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

EastEnders celebrates its 35th anniversary next week and it’s safe to say that the excitement is real among fans of the soap, as producers have promised a game-changing week that will see one Walford resident lose their life during a boat party on The Thames — something which is previewed in this brand new jaw-dropping new trailer.

With Mick and Linda Carter’s (Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright) marriage on the rocks, the landlord and landlady of The Queen Vic host the boat party on the Thames — a prize which they were awarded with for being crowned the ‘Best Pub’ in London. However, with tension aplenty, conflict will ensue for the once-happy couple.

Meanwhile, Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) revenge plan — which saw him kidnap Callum Highway (Tony Clay) earlier this week — will result in him boarding the boat also — as does Phil and Ben Mitchell (Steve McFadden and Max Bowden).

It’s a week of epic proportions that will see the same day play out from a number of different character’s perspectives.

The trailer reveals Linda in danger as she’s trapped — as a desperate Mick searches for the love of his life — while Callum is seen lying in need of assistance. Meanwhile, an angry Phil seeks revenge on Keanu, and Sharon (Letitia Dean) goes into labour, with Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) by her side.

Meanwhile, a body bag — containing the remains of one deceased resident — can be seen, but the question is: who’s body is it?

Speaking about the 35th Anniversary of EastEnders, Jon Sen, Executive Producer EastEnders said: ‘For the 35th anniversary we wanted to entertain the EastEnders audience on the iconic river which has heralded the start of the show for 35 years. This unmissable week of episodes is destined to be exciting, gripping and heart-breaking – it will be a week that will go down in EastEnders history.’

EastEnders continues Friday 14 February at 8pm on BBC One.

Pierce and Vanessa in Emmerdale
(Picture: ITV)

Desperate and unhinged Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather) is capable of anything in Emmerdale and after Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) made an attempt to escape and fight him off in a violent struggle, he looked set to punish her in the worst possible way. As he headed up to Johnny, who was calling out for his trapped mum, Pierce grimly headed upstairs and turned off the baby monitor.

But what is he going to do as Vanessa fears her son will die? Is Pierce really sick and twisted enough to kill an innocent child as part of his revenge? Vanessa remains missing and has been hoping that Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) would come to her rescue but Charity is under the belief that Vanessa has simply disappeared and gone on a holiday by herself.

With Vanessa not answering her phone, Charity’s fear and anxiety turned to outrage as she left Vanessa an angry voicemail and said she felt left in the lurch and that they would speak when she got back.

This allowed Pierce to make it clear to Vanessa that Charity has no idea of the danger she is in – and she is at his mercy. Vanessa broke free at one point and almost got to the door but Pierce roughly overpowered her, leaving her more terrified than ever.

But as she fears what he will do to Johnny, how long does Pierce plan to hold them captive as his sinister plan takes shape? His real target is Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) as he still holds out the bizarre hope that they have a chance at a future as he ‘saved’ her from Graham.

With time running out for Vanessa and no-one knowing that she and Johnny are in the hands of a dangerous killer, is there set to be a bloody ending to this devastating situation?

Is Leo leaving Eastenders and does he die in Whitney fight?

Leo King in EastEnders
(Picture: BBC)

Leo King (Tom Wells) will seemingly stop at nothing to exact revenge against Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) in Eastenders, but things are set to intensify tonight, resulting in a dramatic showdown between the pair.

Leo has been set on clearing the name of his paedophile dad Tony (Chris Coghill) and wants Whitney to reveal the ‘truth’ about his late father.

The paralegal-in-training has been stalking Whitney for weeks and keeping a close eye on her movements, but tonight he takes drastic action.

We know that the stand-off between Whitney and Leo will leave some with ‘blood on their hands’, but who is it and does this mean that Leo might die?

Is Leo leaving Eastenders?

There’s been no announcement that actor Tom Wells will be leaving Eastenders any time soon – but that doesn’t mean that things turn out well for Leo in tonight’s episode as he doesn’t appear in any subsequent spoilers and exits are often ept under wraps.

Tom recently revealed that Leo, ‘will stop at nothing’ to get revenge: ‘simply because his life’s purpose is to get what he thinks is the truth and right the wrong that has been done to his dad and family.

‘From his point of view as well, he feels he’s been duped by Whitney, which has thrown even more fuel on the fire. For Leo now, all bets are off, he’ll get the ‘truth’ by any means.’

EastEnders boss Jon Sen has revealed last year that events at the centre of Leo and Whitney’s dispute are part of a much wider storyline for Whitney that carries on further into this year.

‘Without saying too much, this is just one more chapter in her story,’ Jon said. ‘But overtime — over the next 18 months — she learns from everything that you’re going to see.’

‘This story becomes a chapter in a much longer arc that we have planned going forward.’

With Whitney’s future in the soap seemingly confirmed, does that mean that Leo is the one who comes out worse after the confrontation? Tonight’s episode will reveal more.

EastEnders continues tonight, Friday 14 February, at 8pm on BBC One.

And her blase attitude towards Ollie ending up on the roof was the last straw as he determined that he no longer found her safe to be in charge of their child.

He sadly thanked her for making the decision for him and scrawled his signature before wishing that she and her new partner, the glass of wine she was holding, would be very happy together. As he walked away sadly, finally realising that he may have lost her for good, the end looks like it is nigh for the Carters.

Stalked Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) has been forced to kill Leo King (Tom Wells) as he attacked her with a knife in a dramatic showdown in EastEnders – but now that he is dead, what will Whitney do? Will she cover up the death or will she put her faith in the police that she will be believed that she acted in self defence.

It’s been no secret to the community that Leo has been Whitney’s life hell over recent weeks as he has targeted her, believing that she lied about his late dad Tony, who groomed and abused her as a teenager and later took his own life.

After blackmailing Whitney and forcing her to ‘confess’ to ‘lying’ in front of the whole Vic, Whitney hoped that she had seen the last of him but he has been lying in wait in her attic, watching and listening to her every move in some seriously sinister scenes.

And when he heard that she still had a letter from Tony, he waited until everyone was out and ransacked the place, eventually finding it. He locked all of the doors and closed in on a terrified Whitney, blaming her for killing Tony as he argued that the letter was a brave and loving act from his depraved father.

Whitney tried to convince Leo that he needn’t go down a dark path like his late dad but he made it clear he intended to get ‘justice’ and raised his knife to stab Whitney. She acted fast and knocked him to the ground with a jewellery box before fleeing, only to find herself trapped.

Leo pursued and hit his head in a struggle but he still wasn’t done and he made once last attempt at Whitney’s life. As he pulled her to the ground, she took the knife from him and the resulting struggle saw him fall onto the blade.

As Whitney realised that he was dead, she was left in a panic. But what will happen next as Whitney now has a body and Leo’s blood on her hands?

Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is back and he means business in EastEnders as Ben (Max Bowden) has instructed him to sort out the hostage situation which has seen a vengeful Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) take Callum Highway (Tony Clay) hostage.

Ben is fearing for Callum’s life and while Callum can see that Keanu doesn’t have it in him to commit the murder of an innocent human being, Ben knows that there is a really heavy chance that he could lose the man he loves. Ben has endured this agony before in his life and he is certain that he will do everything in his power to get Callum safely back in his arms.

But Keanu has upped the stakes and given Ben a time limit to get the cash to him and Ben is panicking that there is no sign of Phil or his associate. As ben desperately called Phil, he was unaware that his dad was already back in the country, ready to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And he’s all out of gum.

(Picture: BBC)

Phil was himself making a call to someone and demanding a very big favour – so what does he have in mind for Keanu? Is he getting cash together or is he playing a more dangerous game to make Keanu regret ever crossing the family?

With Callum still at risk, Phil will target Karen (Lorraine Stanley) in order to try and draw Keanu out of hiding. But is this the right move? Before long, Phil, Ben and Keanu will end up in a serious and bloody showdown on the party boat and disaster strikes, putting all of their lives in danger.

But where is Callum at this point? Is he safe or are Ben and Phil closing in on Keanu to make him pay for doing the unthinkable?

EastEnders aired a shocking twist in Whitney Dean’s (Shona McGarty) terrifying stalker ordeal at the hands of evil Leo King (Tom Wells) as Whitney killed Leo in a violent showdown.

Leo is the son of Bianca Butcher’s (Patsy Palmer) ex-boyfriend Tony (Chris Cognhill) who groomed Whitney when she was a teenager. He has been stalking Whitney for months with the twisted idea that his dad was innocent of his crimes. As a result, Whitney has been terrified and unable to leave the house with the stress causing her hair to fall out.

He recently camped out in the attic of her home, watching her every move through a hole in the floor. Leo previously came close to attacking Whitney as he approached her bedroom with a knife, but he was scared off when Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) returned home.

Then he stepped his campaign of terror up a gear by ransacking her home trying to find the letter she received from Tony prior to his death. He eventually found it, but Whitney was left scared once again at the state he had left her home in.

And things have now come to a head as the troubled barmaid has killed her stalker in a fight for her life.

Leo left the attic once more and cornered Whitney in her bedroom, ranting that he wanted to get ‘justice’ for his dad. But things turned physical as she tried to defend herself.

In their violent clash Leo attempted to murder Whitney, but in the struggle that followed she managed to get hold of the knife and he fell onto it, dying of his injury.

It was a hugely shocking moment that left fans reeling.

Married Emmerdale stars Fiona Wade and Simon Cotton looked absolutely head over heels as they honeymooned together in St Lucia.

The Priya Kotecha actress shared a number of gorgeous snaps from their stunning Caribbean escape after tying the knot last year, and no, we’re absolutely not jealous (okay, maybe just a smudge).

Posting to her Instagram, Fiona uploaded two pictures of her enjoying a romantic meal with her hubby.

‘Beautiful dinner on the beach with my love,’ she captioned them.

Another photo saw the happy couple walking hand in hand through the tropical shores, with Simon penning: ‘Thank you especially to my (seriously hot) wife @fionawade1 for sharing it all with me.

‘Except the bit where I climbed a mountain. She didn’t want to do that bit…’

Fiona and Simon tied the knot back in November in a beautiful ceremony in front of family, friends, and of course, fellow soap stars.

Several of Fiona’s Emmerdale co-stars were present for the big day, including Matthew Wolfenden — who plays David Metcalfe — and Debbie Dingle actress Charley Webb.

Fiona announced her engagement at the beginning of 2019, saying on Instagram: ‘There has never been an easier answer to a question… Yes!’

Since becoming husband and wife, Fiona has revealed that she’s ‘very excited’ to start the next chapter of her life and have a child with Simon.

‘I’ve always been very career-oriented and I still am, but you just hit a stage when you know you’ve found the right person,’ she said.

‘I thought, “I can’t wait to have your child”. But you can only hope that things happen the way you want them to.’

She continued to OK! Magazine: ‘We’re very excited for that part of our life to come and we hope that happens, so watch this space!’

Honestly, we can’t get enough of these two love birds!

Simon appeared in Emmerdale back in 2017 as Hugh Bryant — a Home Farm client.

Hugh showed up to check out Rebecca White’s (Emily Head) management skills. However, Hugh’s car ended up on fire, and he terminated his business with the Home Farm estate as a result.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.

Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) is beside herself in EastEnders as she is faced with the dead body of twisted stalker Leo King (Tom Wells), after being forced to kill him in self defence in EastEnders. But as she turns to Mick Carter (Danny Dyer), can he calm the situation down and help her sort things out?

Viewers were terrified for long suffering Whitney when Leo emerged in the house after staking out in the attic. He branded Tony’s letter at Whitney and accused her of killing his dad. As Whitney tried to talk sense into him, a knife wielding Leo ranted about justice and went on the attack.

Whitney knocked him down and tried to escape but Leo had locked all doors, leaving her trapped. In a final struggle, it was clear that Leo intended to kill Whitney but she managed to grapple the knife which Leo fell on as they wrestled for their lives.

Now Whitney looks down at the corpse of the man who tormented her and has no idea what to do next. She knows that she had no choice but to fight back – but will the police believe her? In a panic, she turns to Mick who arrives at the house, ready to attend the boat party.

He is stunned by what he sees as Whitney desperately begs him for his support. As Mick thinks on his feet, what will he advise? Will he help Whitney cover it up or will he suggest getting the police involved? And could Whitney be looking at a prison sentence?

We do know that Mick and Whitney end up on the boat and talking urgently about their shared darks ecret – which a drunk Linda (Kellie Bright) misconstrues as the being romantically close and kicks off, leading to further tragedy.

But what have Mick and Whitney done in between standing over a dead Leo and heading to the boat?

EastEnders airs these scenes in its 35th anniversary week on Monday 17 February at 8pm on BBC One.

Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) is set to be plunged into disaster in EastEnders after an altercation with stalker Leo King (Tom Wells) leaves him for dead. Tom has been giving Whitney a life of hell with his obsession and when he discovered the logbook that she was keeping on him, he saw red.

Whitney found herself cornered by a seriously dangerous Leo and lashed out in retaliation. Believing him to be dead, Whitney has blood on her hands and knows it looks bad – could she be set to head to prison for what has happened?

In a panic, she turns to Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) for help and, knowing what she has been through thanks to Leo, he reassures her and becomes desperate to protect her from any more harm or injustice.

Mick takes control and calms Whitney down, insisting that they both attend and are seen on the boat party so that she has an alibi. But when an already drunk Linda (Kellie Bright) sees them together, her paranoia that something is going on escalates and she instructs the bus to leave without them.

Mick and Whitney eventually arrive on the boat and as Whitney tries to keep her cool, she can’t stop thinking about the state she left Leo in and whether or not he is dead or alive.

Mick approaches her and gives her a pep talk but again, Linda witnesses and makes a spectacle of herself. With the drink flowing, Linda lets rip at them and soon a distracted Mick has a lot more to deal with as disaster strikes, plunging his family into very real danger.

Back in Walford, Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) arrives home to be confronted by the police but is this in connection with Leo? Has he survived and reported Whitney?

And as Sonia reaches a shocking conclusion, is Whitney’s nightmare set to get even worse?

One to watch Monday 17 February at 8pm on BBC One.

Ruby in Casualty
Worry for Ruby (Picture: BBC)

In recent episodes of Casualty Ruby (Maddy Hill) has been doing her best to help her sister Violette (Kelly Gough) reconnect with baby Harmony. Recovering drug addict Violette has even moved in with Ruby, Robyn (Amanda Henderson) and Charlotte to try to provide a more stable environment for both mother and baby, after Ruby discovered that Violette had been living in a hostel.

In tonight’s episode it turns out that Ruby’s new-found faith in her sister may have been misplaced as Violette is faced with temptation when her ex-boyfriend turns up. Harmony is already unwell, and Violette makes a series of bad decisions that put the baby’s life in serious danger. Ruby faces a desperate mercy dash to find her sister and niece before it’s too late.

Will (Jack Nolan) should have been spending the previous evening finishing a report for Connie Beauchamp (Amanda Mealing), but he chose to spend the time with new girlfriend Lara – who also happens to work in the hospital’s IT department. Will discovers that mixing business with pleasure isn’t always a great idea when he has to rely on Lara’s help to get the report finished – and Connie is watching him very closely indeed.

Ethan (George Rainsford) returns to the ED after his trip abroad and finds everyone still unsettled by the death of junior doctor Mason. Rash (Neet Mohan) still blames Ethan for not supporting Mason and gives him the cold shoulder, but when they have to treat a father and son they’re forced to work together. Tensions continue to simmer between them until Rash and Ethan are forced to confront the past and try to work out a way forward.
