If it’s Thursday, that means we’re getting an episode of Emmerdale – except tonight that’s not the case.
Yup, the usual trip to the Dales has been bumped from the schedules tonight, meaning you’ll have to wait a while to see what happens next for Charity and Vanessa, as well as the rest of the Yorkshire crew.
So just why is Emmerdale off air tonight – and when is it coming back?
Here’s what you need to know…
Why is Emmerdale not on tonight?
There’s a very simple explanation for the soap’s absence from the airwaves on Thursday – as it once again takes a back seat to live coverage of an England football match.
This time ITV is airing England’s Euro 2020 qualifying match against Montenegro, which kicks off at Wembley Stadium at 7.45pm – with their coverage beginning at 7pm.
It’s a pretty significant game for the team, as it’s their 1000th international match – and they only need a win or a draw against Montenegro to secure their place in next year’s Euro 2020 finals.
They’ve already beaten Montenegro on their home turf, winning 5-1 against them earlier this year in the capital, Podgorica – and we’ll see later tonight if they can pull off a similar win in front of the Wembley crowd.
When is Emmerdale back?
The good news is you’re only missing one episode this time. as the soap’s back on screens on Friday night at its usual time of 7pm.
And ITV will make up for the lack of episode tonight by airing an hour-long episode next Tuesday.
So there’s no shortage of Emmerdale coming your way.
