Nigel Havers left Coronation Street in the most dramatic fashion when his character Lewis Archer died after suffering a fatal heart attack. The infamous conman had first arrived in Weatherfield a decade ago before his shock demise on New Year’s Day 2019. And it turns out we might not have seen the last of Nigel on the cobbles yet.
The 68-year-old actor joined Good Morning Britain where he told Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid that he could return to the ITV soap and honestly, we’re completely behind this idea because, you know, once a conman, always a conman.
‘Indeed, he has obviously, a twin brother living in Australia,’ Nigel stated.
‘You can always come back from the dead in soapland,’ Piers quipped.
Nigel replied: ‘Yes, it’s a normal thing.’
Nigel went on to reveal that Sue Nicholls, who plays Lewis’ romantic interest Audrey Roberts, had reached out to him only the other day.
He added: ‘Sue text me the other day saying, “I hope you’re polishing up your Brazilian accent.” There’s a clue.’
Did Lewis fake his own death? Will he return to steal Audrey’s heart once again? We can only hope…
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and Coronation Street continues Wednesday at 7.30pm on ITV.
