Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) has wreaked havoc on sister Carla Connor (Alison King) in recent Coronation Street scenes, after taking her hostage as part of his prison escape plan.
After learning that DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) had no intention of getting his conviction overturned, Rob took drastic action to ensure he not only made his escape, but also got revenge.
His prison-guard-turned-girlfriend Mandy helped him to abduct Carla, while Rob lured Lisa to the abandoned office block before attacking her.
Things took a dramatic turn when Carla lashed out at Rob after learning that he’d hurt girlfriend Lisa, and he went tumbling down a staircase.
Believing him to be dead, Lisa and Carla headed to the hospital, but were later shocked to discover that Rob had survived his fall and gone on the run.
The idea of Rob being free clearly set Carla on edge, and her nerves are about to be tested even further in upcoming scenes.
Next week, Carla is determined for things to go back to normal, and insists on returning to work following her kidney transplant and subsequent infection.
It is there that Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) draws her attention to a news report on the radio.
As the report reveals that there has been a possible sighting of Rob in the Brighton area, Carla is hopeful that he will soon be caught and re-arrested.
However, her fears are soon reignited when she returns home and finds the door to her flat open, with signs that someone has been inside…
