Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) has been struggling to cope in EastEnders as a result of the serious amount of pressure she’s been under and, tonight she attempted to take her own life in tragic scenes. Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) discovered her daughter’s unresponsive body the following morning — but is she too late?
The day of Bex’s surprise party arrived, as Sonia made the final preparations for the celebratory event at The Queen Vic. Jean (Gillian Wright) let slip about the party to Bex — who was less than pleased to learn of her mum’s meddling once more.
However, upon further reflection, Bex agreed to attend the celebrations — as it would give her ample opportunity to say goodbye to her friends and family.
At the party, Bex put on a smile, but Lisa (Lucy Benjamin) once again saw through the young woman’s facade, and encouraged her to tell her mum how she truly feels — commenting that it’s her life and that she doesn’t have to go to Oxford if she doesn’t want to. However, Bex brushed Lisa off and — after making a quick speech — she left the pub.
When Lisa realised that Bex had left, she grew incredibly concerned, and thus headed off in search of her.
Meanwhile — as the party was in full flow at The Vic — Bex prepared to take her own life at home, and proceeded to write a note for her mum and dad.
As night turned into day, a worried Lisa pleaded with Louise (Tilly Keeper) in the early hours of the morning to call her mate, while — over at Dot’s (June Brown) — Sonia entered Bex’s room, and was devastated to find her daughter unresponsive in her bed.
Is Bex dead?
Or has Sonia managed to get to her in time?
EastEnders continues on Friday 4th October at 8:30pm on BBC One.
